What Bourbon should I try?

I am an avid Scotch drinker, and have a good taste for picking out flavors and characteristics that I appreciate in single malts (for the record, Lagavulin is heavenly).

About a year ago, I toured the Wild Turkey distillery, and that got me curious about Bourbon. It seems to have some similar qualities to Scotch, in that there are a great deal of flavors hidden within a "good" brand. In particular, I thought Basil Hayden was probably the best non-Scotch whiskey I'd ever tried.

So I'm curious, besides Jim Beam, Basil Hayden, and Wild Turkey, what can some Bourbon aficionados recommend?

I'm partial to Makers Mark. My favorite is Pappy Van Winkle but at $100, it's not in my budget
