Out Of Her Head She Sang...
Hey, I'm Phil, I'm 14, and I love music. You'll find me around the Rock & Pop section most of the time. I'm a drummer. Some of my favorite genres are Alternative Rock, Ska, Progressive Rock/Metal, Grunge, 90's Alternative/Rock, and Pop Punk. Here are some of my favorite bands. Soundgarden Incubus Foo Fighters 311 Stone Temple Pilots Chevelle Deftones Tool Queens of the Stone Age Riverside Minus the Bear Silverchair Sublime Breaking Benjamin blink-182 Katatonia The Smashing Pumpkins Quidam Kyuss Well, I could go on forever, but I think you get a good idea of the music I like. That's about it. If you add me as a contact, don't worry about emailing me about it. I don't check my Yahoo email. You can also add me on last.fm and YouTube. last.fm http://www.last.fm/user/DieHardSGFan YouTube http://www.youtube.com/user/DieHardGardenFan
R&P: Would you all be so kind to check out my band?
Howdy guys, I'm Phil and I'm an old R&P reg. Today I got on Yahoo Answers for the first time in months to ask a question and well I figured I'd come back here.
So anyways, would you guys please do me a favor and give my band a listen/like our Facebook page and what not? We are Horizon Set High, and we come from Baltimore, MD. We'd like to consider ourselves pop-punk and alternative, but personally I'm not big on labeling. I just wanna play music. Some of our influences are bands like Green Day, Yellowcard, blink-182, All Time Low, Four Year Strong, and plenty of other bands categorized with those that I just listed. Anyways I'll link some stuff below. On our Reverb Nation you can listen to our song "Truth and Lies" which we recently recorded (in-studio) and we hope to have our EP out sometime this year. I will also link our Facebook page so if you all could help us out with some likes and shares and what not. Also if you live in the Baltimore area and would be so kind to help us out and come to one of our shows, tell me in the answers and I can hook you up with some information. Our upcoming show is a battle of the bands, and if we win we get free recording time, which would really be beneficiary to all of us. Thanks in advance ladies and gentlemen \m/ by the way as I said before my name is Phil, and I play drums! :D

3 AnswersRock and Pop8 years agoMale vocal range and how to increase it?
I'm a 16 year old dude and well I'm trying to increase my vocal range. Right now my vocal range is about G#2 or G2 to around a G4 or a G#4. If I go any higher the note ends up sounding somewhat like a scream and it just gets really raspy and unpleasant to listen to. So anyways if I'm not mistaken I'm somewhere between baritone and tenor. I'm no vocal expert at all, in fact I'm a percussionist. But I do like singing, I sing back up vocals in my band, so an increase in range would really be beneficial. So to anyone who knows more about increasing range than I do, are there any tips you can give to me on how to do so or are there any exercises that you could explain to me that would help? Thanks in advance! :D
2 AnswersSinging8 years agoCan I get some opinions on this cover?
So I made a cover of the song "Be Quiet and Drive" by Deftones. I recorded with my bass my guitar and sang as well, but I couldn't record with my drums because it was late when I made the cover. So I just tapped on a shoe box :P haha. Anyways it's not top quality, but the time matches up for the most part. If you could, please watch it and give me your opinion/criticisms/whatever. Thanks everybody! (:
1 AnswerRock and Pop9 years agoR&P: What are your favorite songs that feature solos from the Trumpet/Sax section?
I was listening to "S.C.I.E.N.C.E." by Incubus today (great album btw) and I came across a song called "Summer Romance (Anti-Gravity Love Song) and in it, there was a really great sax solo in it. I'll link it below with a few other songs.
Incubus - Summer Romance (solo @ 3:20 - 4:00)

Stone Temple Pilots - Adhesive (trumpet solo @ 3:22 - 3:51)

2 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoR&P, what's the most "complex" song you've ever heard?
By "complex," I don't just mean odd time signatures, unusal instruments, and deep lyrics (although that is part of it,) I'm also talking about generally odd. Something along the lines of confusing, and mashed together, but somehow it makes sense. I'll post mine below, and maybe you can get a better idea of what I'm talking about.
Incubus - Just a Phase
9 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoR&P: Your opinions on the band...?
Minus the Bear? I just started getting into them, I really like their stuff. What do you think of them? I'll link a few songs if you haven't heard them.

1 AnswerRock and Pop1 decade agoR&P, what album is the soundtrack to your summer?
I have two, "Morning View" by Incubus, and "From Chaos" by 311. And since summer is so close, and I haven't asked a question in here in a billion years, what's yours?
13 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoWhat came first: the dinosaur, or the dinosaur egg?

8 AnswersJokes & Riddles1 decade agoHey R&P, what albums are you looking forward to this year?
I know it's been like 8 gazillion years since I've asked anything on here, but whatever :P. Some albums I'm looking forward to are the new Foo Fighters album, possible new Incubus album, new Riverside EP, new Blackfield album, possible new Tool album, and a few more I can't think of. Anyways, name some your excited for.

4 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoDoes anybody know where the video for "Everlong" by Foo Fighters was filmed?
Here's the video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBG7P-K-r1Y
I was hoping somebody might know where the beginning was filmed, when the screen is black and white, and the two guys are approaching the house. If somebody knows, please tell me, for some reason it's been killing me to find out, but I can't find any information! I did hear somewhere that it was an abandoned house in Toronto, but I don't know if that's right.
1 AnswerOther - Music1 decade agoWindows installer issues?
Hi, I've been having a ton of troubles with Windows Installer on my computer for a while now. When I try to install nearly any program, there's an error in the installation, and the program never works. I've tried fixing it, but it never works. Windows Installer is up to date and everything, I just have no clue what is wrong or how to fix it. Can anybody give me some suggestions on how to fix it, or what the problem could be? Thanks in advance.
4 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoHappy Halloween R&P! What's your song of the day?

18 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoSnare wire tightening problems?
Hi, today I went out and bought new drum heads (top and bottom) for my snare and new snare wires. I had no problem putting on and tuning the new heads, however I'm having some trouble tightening the snare wires. When I tighten them, and use the snare strainer, the snare wire slips out. Does anybody know what the problem is, and how I could fix it? If it's important, here are the specs of my snare.
Snare: 14" - 5"
Top head: Remo Weatherking Coated Ambassador
Bottom head: Remo Weatherking Hazy Ambassador
Snare Wires: dw TrueTone snare wires
Thanks in advance for the help everybody.
