I speak Spanish wonderfully and my French is pretty damn good, along with Latin. So even when I know for sure the answer to a question, I refuse to post it because you refuse to acknowledge my ability in languages that I haven't spoken since birth. Stop being so elitist.

I've been doing research because I was in an accident last week, and yeah, I'm at fault according to the law. I know my insurance will pay for her medical bills up to 25,000 but after looking around the internet, I'm terrified she'll sue after that. It was an accident, I've already lost my car, my insurance will shoot through the roof, I got an expensive ticket, and my insurance is paying for her medical bills and car repairs. How much more can I be punished for A STUPID MISTAKE??? It's like the system is set up to screw everyone, no room for forgiveness for being human.

I was in an accident yesterday, I rear-ended someone and I got a ticket for following too close. My mom wants me to hire a lawyer and try to get it lessened, but I don't think there's a point. Is it better to pay the fine and take the 4 points? Or is it worth a try anyway?

I am getting a phd in Spanish linguistics, so I've taken classes like Spanish phonology, Spanglish, second language acquisition, history of Spanish etc... But my degree will say Spanish, does anyone know if any linguistics departments hire Spanish (or maybe Romance) linguists? I much rather work in a linguistics department than in a Spanish one.

I started loratadine a few days ago and now I just feel awful. I'm congested, but is that just the medicine clearing out my sinuses? They were really plugged up before.
