  • Ungrateful parents?

I bought my dad a flight to Korea, and the only thing I asked is he'd learn the language to better understand the culture and adapt while he is here. Every time I bring it up or attempt to teach him, he acts like everything is funny or a game and says he'll use Google translate to communicate with people (which does not work. Trust me). He exploded on me just now and told me to leave him "the **** alone." I'm actually pretty pissed. He kept asking to come, and this is the only thing I asked of him. I should've saved my money and time.

  • Will my cat be quarantined longer in South Korea for biting (even though he has all his shots and papers)?

My cat bites a lot (idk why...ever since he was a kitten, he'd bite and chew on anything (even metal) for no reason. He bites hands too

  • Is hair at the front of your head supposed to be shorter than the rest? I don't see any slip ends on those hairs?

....but they're still shorter than the rest, and when it is flat ironed, you can not tell. However, when my hair starts to get frizzy, it is annoying

I read somewhere that I could be new hair growing... But how do you know the difference between breakage Or new hair?

  • Would you consider someone with one Asian ancestor (a great great grandma or great great granddad) Asian?

To be honest, it doesn't really matter, but I was at an event with the Asian Student Union at my university. It somehow came up that this one guy was the only person not of Asian descent. This guy became very forceful (?). I don't think that is the word, but he was very sure to make us hear that his great great granddad was Asian. He made it clear he wants to be known as Asian.

But idk...I still find it hard to look at him and go Asian. That's very very distant, and he doesn't know much about that relative or culture. He has a right to call himself whatever he wants, but it seems like a far stretch and just trying too hard to me

  • Feeling like family members want you to fail?

Yesterday at Thanksgiving, my aunt kept trying to roast me. She questioned my decision to stay in undergrad for 4 years verses 2 (I got my AA in high school, so l can graduate college by next year... but I got a full scholarship for 4 years, so why not soak it up and enjoy college? Plus I want more experience to be competitive for med school. Anyways, she said I was doing stuff for no reason because I didn't have my life together), said I should stop learning Korean and Chinese (she specifically said I don't even know English well enough. Learn that first), and even ragged on me for studying abroad in South Korea next semester.

She also said I got fat. WHERE? I'm 5'4 and 107 pounds. I work out/eat healthy and lost 3 pounds, but I got fat, okay?

Anyways, I'm having a hard time dealing with some of my family. I expected to come back to everyone excited to see me and nice times, but I feel like I'm being attacked by one of them instead. One uncle didn't even bother speaking to me.

  • Help me decide on where to go!?

I am a college student. After I come back from Seoul, South Korea in July, I was thinking of either going home, going to China, or going to New York. The top on my list of options is New York. However, before I commit to anything, I want to know if I can do it financially. My cap on monthly rent for an apartment would be 650. Is it possible to get an apartment in a neighborhood I won't get killed in there? I was looking online and saw some in that price range, but it was Craigslist, so I'm sure it was sketchy

  • Is it possible to teach your pet to answer to more than one language?

I will be going to South Korea for a year. I already speak Korean, but I want to teach my cat. He is very "dog" like in that he walks on a leash, answers to his name, ect. Is it possible for pets to answer to different translations of commands and their names? If so, how long would you say it for them to achieve this?

  • Are arched eyebrows dominant to straight eyebrows?

My friend from Korea thought that I and every other American trimmed or altered their eyebrows because they are arched. She literally did not believe that most people are born with some arch in their eyebrows. My questions are:

    1. Why are most Koreans supposedly born with low arched to straight eyebrows?

    2. Why are most everyone (in America at least) born with arched eyebrows?

    3. Is arched eyebrows a dominant or recessive trait?

  • Eating dairy stopped my acne?

I have always eaten really healthy (as in a variety of fruits, nuts, and veggies for every meal .no meat or dairy), and I still have had bad acne. Recently though, I have been going to this one junk food (pizza) for dinner at least 3 times a week for the past 4 weeks. My acne has gotten better! Has anyone ever heard of diary curing acne? I have not changed my face wash routine or workout routine. Just added a lot of cheese pizza in my diet ...

  • Best Airline to fly with 2 cats to Seoul, South Korea?

I have two cats. One is 14 years old and 8 pounds.

The other is almost a year and 15 pounds. Are there any airlines that have a great amount of space under the seats for pets or airlines that do not require the crates to go under the seat? My main concern is making sure they are comfortable on the way there.

The main airlines I see going over to Seoul are Delta and Korean Air . How are they in terms of accommodations for pets?

  • How accurate can this be?

I got the ancestry DNA analysis test and it came back I was half black and half white. Both of my parents are black for sure ... there is some white down the line on my mom's, but I don't see how it's enough for me to show up half and half

    Can this is true?

  • Does anyone else have this problem and how to stop it?

I speak four different languages, and I find it hard to go in and out of them. Whenever I'm talking and for some reason I'll have to switch to a different language for someone or something, it takes a few seconds for my tongue to adjust. It feels like putting the breaks on in a car really suddenly or not coming to a gradual stop when doing sprints. sometimes it makes it awkward for the person I'm talking to. Does anyone else have this problem and how do I stop it?

  • Sorry if I'm late...?

I've been out of the American scene for a while. So I just saw Kylie Jenner on TV and I was wondering what happened to her lips and cheeks? They look so different from years ago. I understand people grow up, but I'm younger than her so I've been growing up too and I don't really see how a few years could change someone's facial features so much.

  • Anyone with the last name Trimble?

If so, do you know anything about your family history? Like where your ancestors came from?

    2 AnswersGenealogy6 years ago
  • Could this be the reason why?

Everyone in my family has natural hair and it gets frizzy a lot. This is my first full summer with natural hair. My hair hasn't been frizzing even though I am very active and sweat a lot. I do put olive oil on my hair everyday though and I only flat iron it twice a week ...is that way it doesn't frizz?

  • Why isn't it illegal to sell baby turtles at beach shops?

I live in Florida, and in the shops in the beach, they sell baby turtles in plastic boxes. Why isn't this illegal for all turtles? I highly doubt the shop knows anything about turtles or even cares for them. Two of them were dead!
