  • A little help with some Spanish cities?

Comparisons between Segovia, Salamanca, Madrid, and Bilbao. These are the few that I am trying to decide between and plan to study in May/June. Insights/help with any or all of the 4 welcome!

  • Northern vs. Southern Spain?

I am going to study in Spain this upcoming May/June. Trying to decide what part of the country I want to be in and welcome any pro/con analysis or general opinions. I think I am leaning towards Northern Spain due to beauty and weather at this time of year (not too hot?) but welcome any insights.

  • Comments/insights about Madrid?

Interested in studying in Madrid but concerned about the size, safety, and culture. I grew up in the country so I am a bit concerned of being overwhelmed. Also I want to experience the Spanish culture and am afraid it will be watered down here or I will get people that speak English to me all the time!

  • What Central/Northern Spanish city to pick?

I'm going to study abroad in Central/Northern Spain this upcoming May/June and am having trouble deciding on a city. I've grown up in the country and am trying to find a city that wouldn't be too overwhelming. Not interested in Barcelona or beach towns (although access to one not too far would be nice). The following are my concerns/criteria, please help!

    A) Speak/learn Spanish in a welcoming, encouraging, and friendly environment

    B) Night life

    C) Safety (23 year old female traveling alone)

    D) Weather (not too hot!)

    E) Easy transportation for day trips

  • "So you think you can dance" episode help?

I'm trying to find the name of a dance routine I saw on "So you think you can dance".

It was a modern/contemporary piece and the main dancer was a woman (I believe she had short blond hair and was wearing dark colors/black). She had another dancer that acted as her shadow/fear which kept encroaching on her and she struggled to escape from it.

I hope that is enough detail for someone who may be a religious watcher to help me out, it was a beautiful piece, thanks.

Looking to travel around Europe where I will do volunteer work for food and board. If I plan to stay under the 90 day requirement is it really necessary that I get a Schengen Visa?

  • Opinions on Rihanna's Rude Boy music video?

Woah. I'm all about women being free to express their sexuality but hm.... Seems like we are going in reverse and now objectifying men.

  • What is a good town in Spain to live in?

I'm looking to live in a small to medium sized town in Spain where the people are friendly and I can learn Spanish in a relaxed environment. I'd like it to be in the country but also accessible to a city no more than 30 minutes away. I am in my early twenties so some people around my age would also be a plus. Please give suggestions.

  • How do you isolate cinnamyl alcohol?

I have a mixture composed of 2-nitroaniline and cinnamyl alcohol. I was wondering if anybody knew the best technique that could be used to isolate cinnamyl alcohol from the mixture.

No instrumentation please (like GC-MS) but more organic techniques.

  • How should i revive my ficus salicifolia?

I just bought this bonsai plant about 2 months ago. It is in a southeast window and had been doing fine. However now it is looking pathetic and dry. The leaves are all curled up upon themselves and if I touch one it falls off. The branches aren't dead yet; i gave it bonsai feed once but that has been it. Also i am not trimming the plant because i like the natural growth (yet if this is bad please let me know). Last the only change i made was that i let it go a couple of days without water but i'm not sure if that is why it is like this now.

  • Any recommendations for some good headphones?

Looking for a pair of headphones that meet these criteria: under 60.00, comfortable, not too open because don't want sound to leak in and out, and covers the ear. These will be used for an ipod and a cd player mainly. Researched the Koss Portapro and Sennheiser PX100. Thoughts on the two or others would be great.

  • Any recommendations for a good romance novel?

I'd like to try and read a romance novel. Are there any classics? I don't want it to be all trash but i also don't want it to be like Pride and Prejudice either.
