  • Serious IB Exam score/GPA question?

Long story short: If I know for sure that I have failed two IB HL exams (but not the actual classes History and Math), and I've completely accepted that I will NOT get a diploma (I was aiming for partial), will that affect my GPA/prevent me from graduating?

As it stands now I have a 3.97 non weighted GPA. I've already been accepted into the college of my choice but ironically my IB scores would have meant nothing (I did ace the English exam but the college doesn't even give IB credit).

Will my eventual failed exams somehow hinder me afterwards/prevent me from graduating? Or can I stop worrying and just concentrate on finishing the classes themselves to the fullest extent that I can?

    Thanks!

PS. If you're wondering why I took the IB program in the first place, it's becuase I had every intention of originally going to a school that I knew would accept IB credit but later upon finding out I liked the college I've been accepted to thought, why not? I'm already in it and I like a challenge--unfortunately I underestimated myself in those two subjects :(.

  • Please help me with a short sentence on slavery?

The sentence is: Fever is not just about the slavery white people inflict on black people.

Inflict feels like the wrong word, would "subjugated to" work better? Also the order of the sentence seems wonky any ideas on reordering?

    Thank you for any help!

  • Math questions (2) please help me with them?

    1) Find the values of m for which the lines y=mx-2 are tangents to the parabola with the equation y=x^2-4x+2: I set the equations equal to each other but I'm unsure of how to proceed, given that the solution is (m=0 or -8) : x^2-4x+2=mx-2

    2) Find the gradients of the lines with y-int. (0,1) that are tangents to the curve with the equation y=3x^2+5x+4.

  • Spaceship and satellite component testing help?

I'm at a complete loss, I'm supposed to find information on spaceship and satellite components and specifically their testing but I can't find it anywhere and I can't use Wikipedia as a resource. If anyone has any info on information specifically about "component testing" I would be incredibly grateful.

  • Attractive people come from bad households?

I have a theory that most attractive people, specifically guys (not so much girls), usually come from bad households or family. I believe this is the case because most attractive women marry assholes thus prompting a bad family situation end resulting in a handsome dude. I have never seen a case where this wasn't true. What say you?

  • Need help identifying supernatural movie?

I have searched and searched the internet but I still can't remember the name of a trailer I saw for a supernatural movie I wanted to see so I'm going to try and describe things that I saw in hope that someone out there knows the movie I'm talking about (and is willing to share the title). I remember a man on a hospital bed thing surrounded by doctors, he has a near death experience and for just a moment his spirit is lifted out of his body, then it comes back down. Things seem fine for him but then he begins to see ghosts etc. I think the lead is a big name actor. I remember ghost things rising out of TV and computer screens. Lastly, the movie wasn't made in 2012 or 2011, it's somewhat older but I'm almost 100% sure it was made after 2000.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

P.S. It is not White Noise, or Sublime or Ghost Town

It's a now I can see ghosts because I've had a near death experience movie...

  • How fast would you have to throw a ball...?

How fast would you have to throw a ball for it to travel all the way around the Earth and come back to you? Assume no obstructions (that the Earth is perfectly flat), and that the ball is made of an indestructible material that can't burn up.

    Thanks!

  • Need a miracle cold hand and fingers cure!!?

Okay here's the immediate problem. I have really really cold hands. When I walk around at highschool during the day (mid day), things aren't that bad. But whenever I sit down for more than 20 minutes, my hands get really cold and numb. This is "handle-able" in my normal school routine but tomorrow I am taking the SAT. THE S. A. T.!! I am ultra worried that my hands will be too dang cold to write quickly enough or fill in stupid little bubbles to keep up with the time.

I know of ginger and Cheyenne pepper sort of help. If I drink them in water they warm my core, BUT NOT MY HANDS. To top it off, if I do have either out of my normal routine I get really loose stools...considering the SAT is 3 hours straight I know drinking either of those things will be a really bad idea. Too top it off, I have to take the SAT at 7:45 in the morning. Normally I wake up at 5:45 and go to school at 8:00 (am), but during this time my hands are ultra cold and don't warm up till significantly later in the day. I run every day to warm up and I do jumping jacks but they only have a temporary effect on my hands and if I sit down afterwards, 30+ minds later...PRESTO ice cold hands!

So to summarize, if anyone knows of a miracle cure that can help me tomorrow you'd have my undying gratitude. This SAT is of great importance to me considering I'm taking it as a senior AND I'll only be allowed to take it once more (in November at the same time), before I graduate.

    Thank's once again!!!!!

  • SAT test time questions?

About how much time should I spend on long linked passages that go near an entire page? For example, a section that has two points of view and talks about women in the 1750s. What should I aim to spend on it? I'm not that good at skimming since when I do I tend to miss things? Is it unwise or wise to read the questions first? I remember people always told me too on the ACT but other people say differently about the SAT. Also, what time should I aim to spend answering the short grammatical questions, and math questions?

    Thank you for your time!

  • Oregon to Washington HS credits?

I'm moving to Washington in a couple of days for my senior year of all things, (in high school). According the the k12 graduation reqs, Washington requires less credits to graduate than Oregon 24 OR vs. 19 WA. My question is, if anyone knows, how will my current HS credits transfer over from Oregon to Washington (which is where I'm moving from).

    Thank you!

  • Scariest movies to watch?

What are some of the scariest movies to see? Keep in mind I mean SCARY not "classic scary frankenstein scary". To help you out, here are some of the movies which some may list as scary which after watching them I don't find scary at all. One side note, there is one horror movie franchise which I still refuse to see which are The Human Centipede movies, I understand the concept of those movies, I just don't think my stomach would bear to experience them. I'm fine with people dying in horrible ways....just not that way in particular lol...

    Any Paranormal Activity

Any ALIEN movie (badass monster...not scary though) to clarrify I mean the xenomorph not all aliens)

Any zombie movie (I've more or less seen everything)

The thing, all the silence of the lambs, all the descent movies, all the saw and texas chainsaw mas. movies,(classic movies the ring, the grudge, scream etc. never really had any effect on me, the omen, carry, psycho...), insidious, 4rth kind, that's about all I can recall off the top of my head...

    Any suggestions then?

P.s. please don't defer me to some pre-made top 100 list, they usually suck, give me your own ideas thanks!

  • Wheat free Vegan Licorice recipe/s?

Since about 8th grade allergies to wheat, eggs, almonds, and dairy have kicked in for me and it is a b&@&$ to find any candy I used to love that doesn't include any if all of those allergens. One of the candies I have craved most of all has to be licorice because of all other candies I like it only has one allergen, wheat, but I can't eat wheat anymore. I've heard about this brand: http://shopping.yahoo.com/753431331-gluten-free-mo... but to be honest I'd rather not have to buy candy online because the idea behind mail order candy seems strange to me (even though most supermarkets do it). What I came to ask is if anyone ANYONE knows a wheat, egg, and dairy free licorice recipe that they would be willing to share with me so that I can make my own licorice.

Thank you chefs and candy makers of YA!
