How to use television for studying?

Television is the guest of honour in every house. Every teenager spends a lot of time in front of it... So, why not use it to learn instead of letting it destroy our minds?

In my experience, you can learn a lot while watching TV; I learn a very big part of my English watching television shows and movies with subtitles, that way I became able to pronounce and write the new words.

I learned in a way that interested me. It was not boring or tedious, and I saw how English is applied in the real world.

So, in my opinion, Cambridge could use certain movies or shows for students to have fun while they learn. Of course, theory is necessary, but we could complement that with television, therefore, doing our own learning.

So, yes: I believe English teacher could make television their friends instead of their enemies. Not necessarily tell us what to watch (because, let’s face it, what teenager would watch something they are told to see?) but instead just tell them to enjoy watching television in English.

Cutting glass with string:

Set a bucket of cold water on a concrete or other fire resistant surface.

Rinse out the bottle thoroughly. Wrap the thread around the bottle at the point where you want the bottle to break. (The thinnest area of the bottle is best. If the glass is too thick, this trick may not work.) Wrap the thread around the bottle thirty to forty times.

Put on your rubber gloves, in case you get lighter fluid on your hands.

Squirt the lighter fluid on the thread, soaking it. Squeeze the thread a bit so it soaks up as much lighter fluid as possible. Wash the gloves with soap and water.

Hold the bottom of the bottle with one hand, and light the thread with the other. Turn the bottle on its side a bit and rotate it. If any fluid on your gloves catches fire, dip your hands in cold water immediately.

Let the thread burn until it goes out, then immediately drop the bottle into the cold water

Remoja un trozo de cuerda en alcohol y escurrelo hasta que no gotee. Marca en la botella la línea por la cual quieres cortarla, y ata la cuerda bien tirante.

Luego prendemos fuego la cuerda, y cuando el vidrio este caliente, sumergelo en agua. El lugar donde sumerjas la botella debe ser lo bastante grande como para poder sumergir del todo la botella y tu brazo, hasta la altura del codo.

Por último, golpea la botella. Éste golpe seco romperá el vidrio como si hubieses usado un cortavidrios.

I am looking for shows or movies in which a pregnant woman experiences some problem during pregnancy: Miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, or any other problem. I would like it to show having some pain, or fainting or something physical happening to her, not only an accident in which we don't really see when it happens.
