profile search settings in facebook?
If you deactivate the account, would you see the person's posts like Jack and Jane are now friends (and Jane is the deactivated account)?
But, if you change the account to only friends or friends of friends to see the account and someone searches for the profile and doesn't see it and gets the prompt to invite the person, does the person get the invite? how can you invite someone that actually exists but you can't see?
also, how can you block someone that you can't see? if this person changed their settings so that i can't search them and i want to prevent them from searching me, facebook doesn't let me block the email address for the person because i can't find them. how does that work?
1 AnswerFacebook1 decade agotax assessment records - why is mortgage company in the name?
I am handling a case and without doing a full title exam. Cost and time is too involved for the amount of the claim. Tax assessor records are showing the mortgage company as the second name listed underneath the property owner (as owners). I assume that this indicates either a data entry mistake, reverse mortgage, or possible foreclosure. I did not see any foreclosure legal notices online for that property. I did not think a reverse mortgage would also list the mortgagee and mortgagor as the 'owner'. Any ideas?
Please only answers pertinent to the question.

8 AnswersPolitics1 decade agowhat windows are better:1) Alside Excalibur, 2) Alside Ultramaxx,3)Silverline 8500 byAndersen,4)Simonton 5500?
Trying to choose between the following: 1) Harvey Classic .30 U $5800, 2) Ultramaxx R10 .21 U $5255, 3) Alside Excalibur .30 U $4955, 4) Silverline 8500 .30 U $5531, and 5) Simonton 5500 and .30U. $4955, Ultramaxx has triple pane with Krypton gas. The other windows are double pane with Argon. The lightest window appeared to be the Silverline. The Alsides were the heaviest then Simonton and Harvey. Not sure how long I will keep the house.
I understand that the Simonton is rated well. The Excalibur has the Consumer Digest award. Alside's include glass breakage warranty as does the Silverline. The house is small ranch house. Any opinions are to what windows are best? If the R10 is after the Ultramaxx name, does that mean it's warrantied through the retailer and not Alsides? THe Alside's site doesn't have a R10 after the name.
5 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agowhat do you think is going on?
i had my cube moved. i am not socializing at work. i do go over to other areas about work related questions. i said hello and a little comment discussion with less than 1 - 2 minutes of time. my boss tells me that she had two complaints that i was distracting people from their job. i can't see how that happens. since, i was at the copier copying and just said hello when another person came up to me and just said a couple of things in less than 1 minute. another 1 minute conversation was when i walking back from lunch and said something. i just told the boss that i was just trying to be friendly. if i am being treated like that for being nice, what do i need to do? just tell people do not talk to me ! do not look at me. i feel like that i can no longer just say hello, nice weather or anything.
3 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoMy coworker makes up stories about people and tries to instigate stuff in front of the boss.?
This coworker spends all of his time in the boss' office or on his cell phone. Always in with the boss.... She left her office and he continued to even sit on there. Even if he was just gossiping about people, it would be done and over in 5 minutes not or hours at a time. How would you deal with this? He had me and a coworker that i need to work close with moved apart. Is giving the both of them just a cold shoulder good? Nothing other than the job and that's it.

You know that show Wife Swap where the the wives of two families exchange places for 2 weeks. One week, they follow the rules and the next week, they make their own rules and try to 'fix the family'. Can we try exchanging Obama for another country's leader for a couple of weeks and see if our stock market goes up again?

2 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoHow Does Surviving Spouse Take vs Bio Child and Property Taxes?
Trying to keep this short and to the point. Father dies intestate. Some children survive. Some childen who have deceased after the father died leave surviving spouses and have issue. All of the children that died passed away intestate. The real property is sold. Funds are pending.
What right does the surviving spouse have to real property/proceeds from the funds of the father-in-law? Is it just a life estate? Or, are there other ways of distribution? Or, should only the biological grandchildren take the proceeds?
What is the distribution of the funds? Is it 50/50???
What right does the estate attorney have to require that property taxes not yet due be paid to the buyer??? There was no agreement specifying any additional benefits beyong the sales price. As far as I have ever learned, as of the date of closing, the buyer assumes all taxes not yet due.

If you have an elective surgery for a medical condition but you don't have enough time for FMLA to kick in and you get canned because you took the time off, can you still collect unemployment because you had a medical condition and your job was really terminated 'through no fault of your own' ?? Does it help that your company has no job descriptions, no employee manual, etc..

Usually people say keep your money in the market, it's a long term investment. I tried that and lost 50% of my retirement. Is the market ever going to get better or did the country screw itself borrowing money from China that it will never go back.
9 AnswersInvesting1 decade agoWill the Second Economic Stimulus Program Help?
Our country is on a quest to get more and more in debted to China to give out hand outs.
The proposed second economic stimulus program calls for massive infrastructure spending, retrofitting schools, and state aid.
How will this help ????? We are a 'knowledge economy' where we flip burgers, have retail shops, credit companies, and pass papers. We are primarily a white collar shop now. In my state, you have to know someone to get in the union. It's mob run. How will putting union blue collar road construction crews to work help all the laid off white collar workers? And, the police aren't laid off. So, they'll be getting over time for watching the road crews dig holes. They are also union members.
Will changing lightbulbs etc. at our schools create jobs? They do have janitors that change lightbulbs etc. And, state aid ??? That doesn't sound like it will create jobs for the unemployed.
Is this proposal just a pay back to unions at taxpayer expense?
What would you do to create a second economic stimulus plan that will work?
If all of these 'stimulus' plans don't work, what happens?
4 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoBest used cars - What type of car is reliable and affordable?
Hi, I was reading Dave Ramsey's Money Makeover Book. In the book, he says to pay cash for a used car. What is a good car to buy? It seems that many 'not overly used' cars are pretty expensive and sometimes it seems like a new one, you can get a better deal on with rebates etc.
7 AnswersBuying & Selling1 decade agoCareer Choices - Any ideas on what I should do?
I'm not sure what I should do career wise. I have a Finance and a Law degree. I worked in computers for a long time. I practiced law for about 3 years. I hurt myself so I have a non-legal sit down job. Originally, I wanted to be a doctor but I transferred out when I was 18 to business school. The reason I did that was because my first year at college, I couldn't understand the foreign teachers and didn't do well on my tests.
So, I kind of panicked. Then, I kind of went through the motions.
I like computers and working with them but not in a support/networking/repair type job. I enjoy practicing law but I can't stand the idea of having to be in business for myself. I would like a job with good benefits and standard hours too. I enjoy politics, having been thinking about pharmacy (but it's 6 years of schooling) and nursing; thought of teaching but i'm not sure what i could teach. I'm good at negotiating, enjoy helping people; like to think up ideas; i'm good at creative writing; have an aptitude for science; i enjoy problem solving.
I don't like a lot of guff; dealing with snotty people; etc. I'm not a confrontational person.
Any ideas on what I should do? My problem with the pharmacy idea is the length of time (i do have a lot of law school student loans to pay) and a mortgage etc.
1 AnswerOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoWhy don't we just have a plain old fashioned bailout?
According to CIA factbook, we have a population of 301,139,947 in the US. https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world... If we are going to do a 700 million dollar bailout and need to put money in consumer hands, why not just give each taxpaying adult a $2 million dollar check. Wouldn't that stimulate the economy if they conditioned it on us 1) Paying owed child support and taxes first then paying off our credit cards and mortgaes; 2) Buying a car from the Big Three Auto or a foreign car assembled in the US with higher gas mileage; and 3) saving 20% in a retirement fund and 20% in an emergency fund; and 4) paying off student loans; and 5) spending the rest in the economy. Wouldn't that put capital back into the market while improving the people's savings and getting them back into spending and getting debt free?
