I'm a communications major with an emphasis on Journalism, and all I really do is use Word, although it would be nice to play games like Civilizations 4/5. I'm looking at the Asus x205ta ($199) and the Acer Aspire V5-123 ($245 used).

I already know the Asus has a slower processor, but because of that it has 10-12ish hour battery life. The Acer has about 4 hours. Any suggestions/comments?

I'm writing a fantasy novel and the setting is an Earth a few thousand years after a nuclear apocalypse. What would be the long term effects of nuclear war of that magnitude? Part of the story also takes place a few hundred years after the war where the survivors live in a dry wasteland and, with some supernatural help, can survive with little oxygen.

I realize that because its a fantasy novel, not everything needs to be accurate to anything, but because this is sort of a science-fiction element I would like to have some comparative realism.

My friend wants to start reading high fantasy (Lord of the Rings, Wheel of Time, A Song of Ice and Fire, etc). She's read YA fantasy (City of Bones and the like), and I don't know what to tell her to read. I was thinking the Riftwar Saga by Raymond Fiest, but I've only read the first book so I dont know how the series pans out. What do you suggest?

I've been working on my novel for a while now (6 years) and now I'm 16. I'm almost finished getting through the latest editing spree/rewrite and I feel like its ready to submit to a publisher. My question is, would it be a good idea to find an agent first, and is there any way to present myself so that people don't write me off for being a teenager?

Also, My novel is in the fantasy genre, and I know that that's one of the most competitive genres to get published in right now. I fully understand the odds are not in my favor right now at my age either. It sucks but it is true.

So a lot of my friends are really into Airsoft and I was thinking about getting into it myself. Problem is, I don't have a clue about anything that has to do with that. Can someone help?

So far I've switched the Sleight of Hand perk to Warlord Pro so the AK has a silencer and red-dot sight. Any suggestions?

I'm a sophomore in high school and I'm trying to look into colleges early. These are some that have caught my eye:

California State University: Long Beach

Humboldt State University

University of Redlands

There are others, but these stood out. I want to major in English with an emphasis on Creative Writing and then get a teachers credential for high school. Maybe after that (I'm not sure yet) I would want to be a college professor. What I really want to do is be an author, but I've heard to many "struggling author" stories for me to rely solely on that for a career. So, which college is "better"? Also, how is the social scene/dorms/activities like? And could someone please explain to me why there's a pyramid at CSULB?

I think he had the right idea and was brave enough to follow through with his beliefs, and also resourceful enough to survive for 3 months in Alaska, but the execution was wrong. Also, I think his dad was wrong from keeping such a devastating secret from Chris and Chris was wrong because he never told anyone why he was mad. I see him as a kind of role model nonetheless (no I'm not about to run off to Alaska). What about you?

I'm 1/4 African American, 1/4 Mexican, and 1/2 Salvadorian. Am I Hispanic and Black or Latino and Black? I personally don't care that much but I know some people do and I don't want to get anyone mad over something like that. Help?

I'm writing a fantasy novel, and have been working on it for the past 2 years. I post it on Wattpad.com, Facebook notes, and I even have a blog dedicated to posting my story. What does this mean? Is it normal?
