  • Statistics help! Mean, Standard Deviation of Discrete Random Variables?

Hello, I'm stuck on studying for a quiz. Please help! I'm not sure how to solve this and my textbook doesn't explain it very well.

Parking lots let you park for free up to 75 minutes. After that, any hour or part of an hour will cost you $1.50. You need to park in a parking lot once a week for a meeting, and you know there is an 80% chance you will be able to get out of the lot in less than 75 minutes. You will definitely get out in 90 minutes.

On average, how much do you expect to pay each week?

  • How to get expedited passport?

I am to travel within a week, and I just realized that my passport expired last month. On the government website there is an option for expedited passport, but I will be traveling by car, and do not have a hotel booked because I will be staying with friends, is there anything else I can use as proof to get the passport in time?

  • Neighbor Pointing Camera Inside House?

I have problematic neighbors that always make false accusations. They accuse us of going in their yard, banging on their walls/Windows, stealing stuff, etc. They said they were going to put a camera up to watch their yard and I was fine with it, but they aimed the camera directly to our windows and property.

I called the police to see if this was legal, and they made the neighbors take it down, but they put it up again just after a week, and now the camera is pointed even more into our property.

    Is this even legal?

  • Pending -Chase Bank?

When I was trying to pay my phone, my payment was rejected, it told me to wait a few minutes and try again. After a few minutes, I noticed that I wrote my address wrong, I then corrected it and then proceeded to submit the payment again. This time it was accepted.

It only charged me once, but on Chase, my declined transaction shows up as pending and so I don t have access to that money, even though the phone company can already removed the accepted payment. How long does it take Chase to realize that the transaction was never compete, and to give me my money back?

  • College Fee Waivers?

I got four college application fee waiver from the SAT CollegeBoard. I really want to use those for out of state schools, but I also really want to apply to some UC s and since the UC s are included in the list I can apply to, I was wondering if I could use the CollegeBoard fee waivers for out of state, and then apply for UC fee waivers from the UC application process.

As a California resident, I believe I am qualified to get a fee waiver, but I don t know if I would be able to still get fee waivers from the UC s if I used the waivers CollegeBoard gave me, for other schools.

  • Cool Treats for Parakeet?

I was wondering if I could make something for a hot summer day for my parakeets and love bird. It's really hot outside and I think they would enjoy a cold treat.

Can they eat special popsicles? Or any food like that? Would they like frozen fruit? Or fruit ice cream? The last seems like a bad idea though. I don't know if ice cream would be heathy for them.

  • Is Geometry necessary to apply for a 4-year university?

I skipped geometry going into high school and went from Algebra I to Algebra II then continued with Pre-Calculus and so on. Will it look bad when I'm applying for colleges that I skipped a year of math? Even though I am taking 4 years of math?

While taking one of my other math classes, I took a semester of geometry. But will one semester be enough? Or should I take the second semester?

  • Rated R-movie?

My friends and I want to go see a rated R movie at a local theater. But I'm not 17 yet. They both are. My birthday is coming up in the next month. Would I be able to get in with my school ID? It doesn't show my birthday but it shows what grade I am in, and most seniors are 17

  • Post-Spaying a Cat?

My cat just got spayed today. And the vet told us not to let her run, jump, do anything excessive...but my cat isn't the one to follow rules. As soon as she got home she wanted to go on with her regular activity of wandering the house. We have kept her in one of the bedrooms with the adjoining bathroom door opened so she has her litter. But that's not stopping her from running after me in an attempt to leave the room when I open the door. She also is beginning to jump on the bed.

Is this really bad that she is doing these activities so soon after surgery?

(P.S. Vet told us not to give her a full meal only 1/2 of her meal the first night. But she's adamant that she wants more food. I took her tray away, but I could tell she still wanted more. Should I let her eat her full? Or keep it to the 1/2 portion?)

  • How to become a veterinarian?

I want to become a veterinarian, and am in the process of looking for schools in the West Coast (do you recommend any?). Do I have to start with a pre-vet degree and then apply to a Vet school to get my actual veterinarian diploma?

  • What can I eat after wisdom teeth extraction?

So I have been starving myself (not actually) with soupy foods and shakes for the past 3 days because I was told not to eat any solid foods.

I am still not confident in eating completely solid food, but I'm wondering what foods that are acceptable to eat on the fourth day after the extraction.

  • Is this considered an employment?

I used to help my mother when she would go to outside markets. I would help her set up, help the customers, and sell the merchandise.

Recently, I m going to apply for a job (first one) and they ask about previous employment. Is my work with my mother considered a previous employment? I wasn t actually paid anything (never asked her to) but I worked like an employee. Or should I just list it separately, not under employment?
