In what ways did Dada and Surrealist artists challenge new social and political conditions that emerged after the First World War?

I want to go as a cook for halloween. I have a really cute vintage apron/outfit. Who should I go as? Can you think of any women from throughout the ages who also cooked? Even if it was just for a scene in a movie?

I need to buy a 35mm manual slr camera for a class I'm taking. I'm a beginner so I'm not looking to spend a lot of money. What do you recommend/not recommend? I want something that I can use for years to come and something that won't be too hard to figure out how to use. What do you think?

My family wants to do an active vacation. we live in wisconsin but can go anywhere in the US. We were thinking of maybe going to a dude ranch, going somewhere with good hiking or bike trails, rafting, etc etc! Any ideas/locations/hotel recommendations are appreciated!!

My brother is paralyzed at the C-4/5 level and has an intrathecal pump (a mixture of bupivleaine and baclofen) that is essential to help manage his pain. It is is scheduled to run out tomorrow and his pain doctor is OUT OF TOWN and it can't be filled. if it runs out it, the withdrawal will send him into spasms and his stomach will rip open because staples are still in it from his surgery last week. he will become incoherent eventually and die. Is there anything we can do?? We can't find a doctor to fill it and without getting it refilled he will die. It has to be a pain doctor, the ER here couldn't do it. We are in Green Bay, WI and need to find a hospital we can drive to. Distance isn't an issue. We just need to find a doctor or anyone who can help us!!! it is a life and death situation and we can't find anyone to help us!!!

My 24 year old brother was injured really badly 3 years ago leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. he can still use his arms because he has strength in his bicep but can't use his hands or anything. he wears a brace so he can play on the computer by moving his arm and hitting the keys with a little attachment connected to it. anyways i'm trying to think of ways to cheer him up.... he is extremely depressed... he has so many things wrong with his body, has had so many surgeries, has chronic pain on his right side, has spasms all the time, etc... i was talking to him today and he was saying that he hasnt found anything that makes him feel "normal" or experience anything that he used to be able to do. he misses feeling a blanket around him, being able to take a shower, play games, etc... i'm trying to think of creative things he could do despite his physical handicaps... something besides going to a movie, going out to eat, watching tv, listening to music... if you have any ideas or know someone who went through something similar please share... i would appreciate it soo much!!!!

i need to read a play with a character in it who was either beaten, bruised somehow, etc... it's for a character design. HELP!!!!!!!

i have to do a character design for my stage makeup class on a character that is either old or gets beat up, or has some other deformity that i can demonstrate through makeup. any ideas?? help!!

For my stage make up class we have to choose a short play to read that deals with older people in order to complete the next assignment. the assignment is to make a design sheet for how that character would look in real life. we're supposed to choose a character who is middle aged and would have textured skin (from the sun, age, etc.). The person can be a man or woman. Most people in the class are theatre majors so they are just picking a character from a play they are currently reading.... Any ideas??

I want to go back to my natural blonde (currently dark brown) but I want to make sure I go to a good place so there's less chance of them messing it up! I don't want to spend a lot, but I will if there's nothing cheaper! I'm new to the city so I don't really know of any good places.... Thanks!

I've always had naturally blonde hair. I've been getting highlights on and off for the past few years but then this summer I wanted it to be really blonde so I highlighted it myself. It looked good but after a couple months I decided I wanted it to have a little more depth so I tried to put darker blonde streaks in it. The color ended up looking green. So I put the dye throughout all my hair and it looked mousy. I knew that I was going to have to go to a salon to get it back to blonde so I decided to have a little fun with it first. I have ALWAYS wanted to see what it was like to have brown hair. So then I dyed it dark brown, but had to do it twice so that the color was vivid enough. It looks good now, people say they like it on me, but I feel so boring and dull! I feel like the color totally washes me out.

My question is, can go to a salon and have them dye it back blonde--or is it too soon?? The whole highlighting to dark brown disaster took place about 3 weeks ago. Will all my hair fall out if I do this now??

My friend is coming to visit me in Chicago. We are both students with limited amounts of money to spend! Does anyone know of a cheap place to park for a day?? Thanks!!!!
