  • My small son dented a car door in a supermarket car park. Will it be covered by insurance?

My ex-husband went to the supermarket but left our seven year-old in the car (yeah, not a smart move). My son decided to get out of the car and go into the supermarket to join his dad, but when he opened the door he hit the door of the brand new car next to him, denting it.

I'm wondering whether this would be covered by my ex-husband's insurance. He wasn't in the car at the time, so it wasn't a driving accident. Obviously we have to pay somehow; I'm just not sure of the logistics.

We're in the UK, so if anyone knows about UK law / practices that would be helpful.

  • Why have my contact lenses turned purple?

I don't wear my lenses every day. I wore them one day last week and when I took them out I cleaned them with Boots soft lens cleaning solution and put them back in their case with a bit more cleaning solution.

I just opened the case, and the lenses are no longer clear and transparent. They have turned a kind of purple or mauve colour. The solution hasn't changed colour.

I tried cleaning them: first with cleaning solution and then with saline. It made no difference.

Does anyone know what might have caused this? I'm certain there was no contamination because the lids of the case were closed tightly and no solution had leaked out.

I'm guessing they're probably no longer safe to wear... but I'm very curious about what happened. Obviously I'd like to prevent it happening again!

  • Men, would you like to be a house husband?

Following on from dsds's question, do you like the idea of staying at home, looking after the kids and doing the cooking, while your partner goes to work full time to support the family financially?

  • Serious trust issues?

Like many people, I sometimes have serious trust issues. A lot of people have some idea what's behind their trust issues. In my case it was being a victim of bullying. I felt safer if I didn't react and if I didn't let people get too close.

The problem with fear is that the fear itself is can become more of a threat than the things we're afraid of. And that's natural, but it can make people very unhappy.

The only way I know of overcoming fear is to face it. But to face it we need to feel safe enough. If there are any threats to our physical or emotional safety, we need to deal with them in a practical way before we can face our fears.

And we don't have to face all of the fear at once. We can face it in tiny tiny amounts. We don't need to rush it.

    Is that OK?
