22 years old. Social Work Major. Rehabilitation Associate for TBI and SCI patients. Love will find you in the end. I love you, and I've never even met you...now that's what life is all about. No judgment, no false beliefs in faith. No discrimination. No oppression. You first need to find that special place within yourself where you're comfortable being who you are. We're all alive, and we've got the ability to love. That's enough for me. And when I die, I don't need to think I'm going to heaven. I'm enjoying my time here. I'm loving every minute of it. We're all the product of the environment we live in.
Christians: I present to you 'Confirmation Bias'...Have you heard of it?
Confirmation bias (also called confirmatory bias or myside bias) is a tendency of people to favor information that confirms their beliefs or hypotheses. People display this bias when they gather or remember information selectively, or when they interpret it in a biased way. The effect is stronger for emotionally charged issues and for deeply entrenched beliefs. For example, in reading about gun control, people usually prefer sources that affirm their existing attitudes. They also tend to interpret ambiguous evidence as supporting their existing position. Biased search, interpretation and memory have been invoked to explain attitude polarization (when a disagreement becomes more extreme even though the different parties are exposed to the same evidence), belief perseverance (when beliefs persist after the evidence for them is shown to be false), the irrational primacy effect (a greater reliance on information encountered early in a series) and illusory correlation (when people falsely perceive an association between two events or situations).

7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhy would an all-knowing god create the world to have an uneven distribution of natural resources?
Doesn't that seem a little silly? That's like a predestination for humans to fight one-another.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoI'm getting worried, why are so many theists under the impression that 'God' is talking to them via telepathy?
And why don't I have this telepathic power to talk to imaginary friends? Am I insane? Or are they insane?
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoJesus, Jesus, can you tell me what the problem is?
Jesus, Jesus, could you tell me what the problem is
With the world and all the people in it?
Because I’ve been hearing stories about the end of the world
But I’m in love with a girl and I don’t wanna leave her
And the television screams such hideous things
They’re talking about the war on the radio
They say the whole thing’s gonna blow
And we will all be left alone
No we’ll be dead and we won’t know what hit us
Jesus, Jesus, if you’re up there won’t you hear me
‘Cause I’ve been wondering if you’re listening for quite a while
And Jesus, Jesus, it’s such a pretty place we live in
And I know we fuc*ed it up, please be kind
Don’t let us go out like the dinosaurs
Or blown to bits in a third world war
There are a hundred different things I’d still like to do
I’d like to climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower
Look up from the ground at a meteor shower
And maybe even raise a family
Jesus, Jesus, there are those that say they love you
But they have treated me so d*mn mean
And I know you said ‘forgive them for they know not what they do’
But sometimes I think they do
And I think about you
If all the heathens burn in hell, do all their children burn as well?
What about the Muslims and the gays and the unwed mothers?
What about me and all my friends?
Are we all sinners if we sin?
Does it even matter in the end if we’re unhappy?
Jesus, Jesus, I’m still looking for answers
Though I know that I won’t find them here tonight
But Jesus, Jesus, could you call me if you have the time?
And maybe we could meet for coffee and work it out
And maybe then I’ll understand what it’s all about
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoSo, my friends girlfriend got pregnant and she's a virgin. Is this baby the son of God?
She swears 100% she is a virgin, her family is Christian and she's always lived by the Bible. I think she's been chosen by God to carry his son!!
Wait, you don't believe me?? WHYYYYYYY????
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoChristians: How does this make sense?
God creates man>Man Sins (Sin was also created by God, we didn't create ourselves did we?)>Optional saving from God's "son" Jesus.
How does this make sense? God would know what man would do prior to our creation. God knew that Jesus would be resurrected, so Jesus never died. Therefore, this seems like a crummy family business that just uses the stupidity of others to keep buying a product they don't need.

12 AnswersBologna9 years agoIt's time to prove how devout you are. Do you want to test your faith?
"And they entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and with all their soul, but that whoever would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, should be put to death, whether young or old, man or woman."
2 Chronicles 15: 12-13
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoAll: Give this a try, write your own bible verse?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoAm I doing this right?
The typical theist response to atheist formula:
1. Initial answer. (Usually not based on factual evidence)
2. What the Bible says about the topic. (AKA How to be a good person for dummies)
3. Explanation of why the particular question or statement goes against what their church has taught them. Usually stating how wrong you are and how you'll end up going to 'hell' for being such a terrible person.
4. Biblical scripture taken out of context that supports their individual opinion of the initial question.
(Optional: Sources: Usually the Bible or Jesus himself, or the really great answers come from pastors.)
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoChristians: Would you rather have an atheist president, or a muslim president?
I ask because many Christians dislike the idea of both groups IMO, which is the lesser 'evil'?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhy do Christians pray for such petty things? "Dear Lord, please help me find my wallet."?
Also, why is all this thanking of god happening when people pass tests, get a job, survive a car crash, eat a meal, before a sporting event...etc.
Come on people, do you think a good 'god' would really answer your self-centered prayers before he takes care of all the bigger stuff that happens?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhy would a creator design a light source (the sun) that causes cancer?
There are one-million new cases of skin cancer every year in the US...so what gives?
25 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhen 'god' has low self-esteem does he become an atheist?
Since metaphorically that would mean he lost faith in himself?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoAtheists: Don't you think it's ironic when someone says 'bless you' when you sneeze?
Like they personally have the magical powers to call upon the almighty magical skyman to remove the 'demons' from you to relieve your sickness?
Hilarious.
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhy can't you just accept Him into your heart?
FSM can save your soul and all you non-believers are going to ruin the world!!
Let his noodly appendages into your heart.

7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoChristians: I've found the Lord! He has blessed a now ex-atheist!?
He has blessed my soul, He has saved my soul. Thank you Flying Spaghetti Monster for being so merciful and just. Pastafarianism has saved me!
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoChristians: What do you think about this quote?
“Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.”
― Marcus Aurelius
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoTo theists: If all non-religious people were to stop debating religion with you, would that make you happy?
Would a vow of silence appease you? Or would the silent treatment be worse than the criticism?
