Hi! My name is Melanie. I am a 16 year old girl, and I am very open about my opinions. When I am older I wish to pursue a career in Psychology, and I won't let anything stop me from that. I love to help people with their problems, which is why I spend a lot of time on here! :)

  • What does powwow mean in this sentence?

Sentence from The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn:

"We judged we could make miles enough that night to get out of the reach of the powwow we reckoned the duke's work in the printing-office was going to make in that little town."

  • Trying to figure out the meaning/theme to this song?

Song is Set Fire to the Third Bar by Snow Patrol

    Lyrics:

I find the map and draw a straight line

Over rivers, farms, and state lines

The distance from A to where you'd 'B'

    It's only finger-lengths that I see

I touch the place where I'd find your face

My fingers in creases of distant dark places

I hang my coat up in the first bar

There is no peace that I've felt so far

    The laughter penetrates my silence

As drunken men find flaws in science

    Their words mostly noises

    Ghosts with just voices

    Your words in my memory

    Are like music to me

I'm miles from where you are,

I lay down on the cold ground

I pray that something picks me up

And sets me down in your warm arms

After I have travelled so far

We'd set the fire to the third bar

We'd share each other like an island

    Until exhausted, close our eyelids

    And dreaming pick up from

The last place we left off

    Your soft skin is weeping

A joy you can't keep it

I'm miles from where you are,

I lay down on the cold ground

And I pray that something picks me up

and sets me down in your warm arms

I'm miles from where you are,

I lay down on the cold ground

I pray that something picks me up

and sets me down in your warm arms

  • I really need help with my Wii console?

In an attempt to make my Wii no longer black & white, I took someone's advice from Y!A and changed my visual settings, and now I cannot see ANYTHING. I can't get to the settings page on my wii, because I don't know where it is.

How do I reset my Wii settings without using the settings page?

(I already tried the whole 'press down while hitting reset' as someone else answered on this question, no change)

  • Underline or quotation marks?

I am writing a source for where I found a word.

The source was a song, because I heard the word in the song For You I Will by Teddy Geiger.

If we read the word in a book or article we are supposed to follow the guidelines for sourcing them as usual, but I don't know how to correctly source a song?

How do I source a song?

  • Job application question?

In the past, what did you do when you had a conflict with another person?

    * Focused on what I was doing, not the conflict

    * Stayed out of the way until the conflict was taken care of

    * Talked to others about the conflict and the people who caused it

    * Suggested ways to fix the conflict

    Which is the best answer?

I believe more than one makes sense.

  • Who is this? (picture included)?

I don't remember his name! Sorry, it's blurry. It was all I could find. All I remember is that he is involved in fashion and has TV shows to help people with their own styles.

  • Are the people of Y!A really driving you nuts?

It's making me a little angry that people are talking bad about Michael Jackson and saying how he was a child molester, not even 12 hours after his death. Yes, he may have done some seriously disturbing things, but either way he still was a legend to music and will be missed. It seems like people are speaking ill of the dead way too much, am I the only one feeling this way?
