  • Math hw help - Nickels and Dimes question?

I'm doing an online math program where I can try this question as many times as possible, but for the life of me I just can't figure this one out. Can someone provide some assistance?

"A youth organization collected nickels and dimes. By the end of the 1-day drive they had collected $30.25. If there were two times as many dimes as nickels, how many of each coin did they collect?"

  • By registering to vote, what else are you agreeing to?

Like, I know once you register you're also then available to be called for jury duty. So what else are you then part of?

  • Nice things to do for a person you're housesitting for?

I'm housesitting for two close friends of mine right now. They get back on Friday. They left because one of them is having major surgery done. I want to give them a nice surprise to come home to, but I'm at a loss for ideas. Here's what I have so far:

    - Clean the house

    - Replace their burnt out lightbulb

    - Leave flowers, a small teddy bear, and two cards (one for each person) on their table

    - Maybe cook them dinner and leave it in the fridge so they don't have to cook that night?

  • Name legally changed - Plane tickets still valid?

So I just had my entire name legally changed and the gender marker on it changed as well. I'm transgender, which is why that happened. So it now says I'm male and with my correct name. I had plane tickets bought in my former name for later this year. Are those still valid? Like... can I change the name on those or...?

  • Does this outfit work?

I want to wear a white t-shirt with a black sleeveless hoodie over it, but then a solid black button up shirt over the hoodie. I'd zip up the hoodie and leave the button-up unbuttoned.

I'm doing this for a party in which I was asked to wear a black and white outfit. It's going to be cold there, hence the layers. So just a simple yes or no if this sounds like an okay thing.

  • Quick fashion advice? (male)?

    Is this outfit tacky?

    Black sleeveless shirt

    black shorts

    black shoes

Or should I switch the shorts with ones with color that are a little too big?

And is the sleeveless shirt look too much of an asshole-ish thing to do? I'm just wearing it because it's super hot here.

  • Dog's height vs My height?

I'm only 17 at the moment, but I've been thinking about when I move off to college in about a year and a half. I was thinking that if I liked the area, and with assistance from my mother, I would look into getting a small apartment after a year and perhaps look into adopting a dog. That may not be a reality as far as finances go, but I'd like to adopt a dog at some point in my life. I've always dreamed of having a Siberian Husky or a German Shepard, living in Washington, but I fear that this may not be a wise decision because I am only 5 feet tall. Do you think I should look into smaller dogs or would it maybe not be a huge problem if I made sure the dog was well trained and so on? I'd had Pomeranians before and I'm not too keen on having that small of a dog. The college I want to go to is in the middle of a forest and I hear there are lots of hiking trails, so I'd probably want to bring the dog on hikes.

  • SAT or ACT if I am terrible at math?

I'm trying to decide whether to take the ACT or the SAT this June/July. I tend to excel when it comes to writing and essays, but I struggle even in the Algebra 2 class that I am in now. The length of the test and number of questions doesn't phase me. Which one would I be more suited for?

  • Pain in left side of ribs and shoulder?

Lately I've been getting intense pain in the left side of my ribs every time I lay down on my left side. I mean, it's to the point where I am very worried. I also feel the pain whenever I cough, laugh, or take a deep breath.

I've also been getting pains in my left shoulder. However, about two years ago my the muscles in my shoulder started to become very inflamed (or so the doctors thought) for no reason and the doctors couldn't figure it out either. It was to the point where I could've move my arm or shoulder. It went away after about two weeks when something "popped" and suddenly there was no more pain. My shoulder now pops often but there is no decrease in pain or anything. The mobility is also limited.

I'm not sure what's going on.

    Any ideas?

  • Best Verizon phone for texting - Out of these choices?

I'm having a hard time deciding which phone I want to get, as my EnV3 is nearly broken and I can now get an upgrade.

The thing is, I primarily use my phone for texting. Sometimes I'll give/receive calls, sometimes browse the web, sometimes use the camera. 95% of the time I'm just using my phone to text.

With that in mind, which of these phones do you think would be the best?

    - HTC Incredible 2

    - Verizon iPhone 4

    - HTC Thunderbolt

    - Motorola Droid X

The cost isn't a problem for me.

I'd also like a decent battery life, as I always have my phone with me.
