Visa for travelling between Germany and Switzerland?
Is a visa required if we're just crossing the border to see the Black Forest? We'll be there for less than a day... I can't seem to find any info on other websites, so any info would really be a great help! Thanks! (:

3 AnswersOther - Europe1 decade agoFor DNA extraction, what causes the following?
1. High salt concentration causing proteins to clump, but not DNA
for the proteins, i understand the salting-out effect will happen, but would it be right to say that DNA will not precipitate because there is no way for the salt to interact with it?
2. Subsequent addition of alcohol will cause DNA to precipitate
is it because non-polar DNA is insoluble in alcohol?
1 AnswerBiology1 decade agoZip on pants keeps coming undone?
hi, i have a pair of jeans which i can fit into quite well. the only thing is that the zip keeps coming down after a while so i can't wear them out or risk looking like an idiot with an undone fly.
my friend said i should bring it to a tailor's to change the zip to a lockable kind but another one said to have them alter the front rise instead. would that really work? which solution is better, or are there any other answers?
thanks!
10 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade agoCan anyone explain? "For maximum buffer capacity, pH=pKa"?
I understand that this is because the concentration of the salt and acid are equal, but how does this make buffer capacity maximum? Wouldn't a solution with a higher salt concentration be able to better resist pH changes if H+ is added? (Or a solution with more acid resisting pH changes better if OH- is added)

why is it sp3 in an -OH group but sp2 in a C=O group? I can't really visualise the electron movement and orbitals here...

G=-RTlnK
I couldn't really find much that helped when I searched Google, mainly because it was all in pretty deep Physics terms..
