  • Trinitarians: If Jesus is Jehovah, How Do You Manipulate Psalm 2:2 to Fit Your Doctrine?

Here are some examples of the rendering of that verse:

    Young's Literal Translation

"Against Jehovah, and against His Messiah"

    New Life Version

"against the Lord and against His Chosen One."

    The Living Bible

"against the Lord and his Messiah, Christ the King."

    Geneva Bible

"against the Lord, and against his Christ."

    Gods Word Translation

"against the Lord and against his Messiah by saying"

    Expanded Bible

"against the Lord and his ·appointed one [anointed; Messiah; C the king, ultimately Jesus; Acts 4:25–28]."

    Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition

"against the Lord and against his Christ."

It seems one would have to really work hard to manipulate this verse to reinforce a theory that Jesus is both Jehovah and the Christ. These verses explicitly differentiate the 2 from each other. I am curious, what manipulation techniques and tactics are used to prove this the Trinity doctrine?

  • To Those Who Are Against Using The Divine Name, Can You Explain That Line of Thinking Logically Considering Its Widespread Use in the OT?

We can accept both "Testaments" as the inspired word of God and still see understandable differences occurring between the two, but not basic contradictory differences. For example, we know how and why animal sacrifices to God have been done away with. It has been carefully, logically explained in the NT and, therefore, does not contradict the OT teachings where such sacrifices were required. But where is the careful, logical explanation that shows that the necessary knowledge and use of God's name (as clearly acknowledged by word and example throughout the OT) was done away with in the NT?

How can it be that God reveals His personal name and commands that it be publicly acknowledged and used forever by His servants (and they respectfully do so for over a thousand years) and then, for no scriptural reason, His worshipers suddenly begin refusing to use that name and even hide it?

  • Trinitarians: When Did Human Jesus Learn That He Was Both Human Jesus and God Jesus? At Birth? At Baptism?

**I KNOW THAT JESUS IS NOT GOD**

I'm not one of those fools who ignores the explicit teachings of the Bible and facts found in history books in favor of my beliefs. I have this tendency to try to understand what cannot be understood. To make sense out of what is nonsensical. To see the logic in what is illogical. While I know this is a vain and pointless battle for the logically thinking person, there are clearly some people who still believe it. And to them I ask this question. Don't answer by trying to convince me Jesus is God, I'm not a succafish. I know better than that. I read the Bible. Please, just tell me at what point did Jesus know he was both human and God. Was it at his birth or baptism?

I asked this question earlier and got a barrage of non-answers. Please just answer.

  • Who are Jesus' Fellows Mentioned at Hebrews 1:9?

"Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee With the oil of gladness above thy fellows." - Hebrews 1:9

Instead of "fellows" other Bibles say:

Friends, companions, comrades, those who are with you, or anyone like you?

So who are the ones that the Bible says are like Jesus?

  • Trinitarians, How do you reason on this scripture?

"And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb." - Revelation 21:22

Grammatically and contextually there is a clear distinguishing between the Lord God (Jehovah) the Almighty and the Lamb (Jesus).

If Jesus IS the Lord God the Almighty why is it worded this way? It says that they both are "its temple", like there 2 different people. One person is the Lord God the Almighty and the other person is Jesus. There is no doubt the writer of this did not see Jesus and the Almighty God has 2 completely separate individuals. Which is wired because Jesus IS Jehovah and Jesus IS the Almighty God.

And where is the Holy Spirit? Wouldn't he be the city's temple also? He is equally Almighty God, right? So why would the Bible not include him?

Read the many other ways the Bible exposes the fallacy that is the Trinity...

  • Trinitarians, where does Jehovah fit into the Trinity?

    Psalms 83:18 (KJV)

That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

    Exodus 6:3 (KJV)

And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

This person Jehovah is written about as being "ALONE" the "Most High" and also "God Almighty". I know that Jehovah is not Jesus. The English name Jehovah is from the Hebrew name Yahweh. The English name Jesus is from the Hebrew name Yeshua. It does not make sense that the same person would have 2 different personal names. Also this scripture:

    Psalms 110:1 (KJV)

The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

In the DNKJV and in the ASV it says "Jehovah said to my Lord". Because of the scriptures at Colossians 3:3, 1 Peter 3:22, Hebrews 1:3, Acts 2:33 (along with Jesus's own words at Matthew 26:64) we know that Jehovah is literally talking to Jesus here. Which is another reason they cannot be the same person. Unless of course Jehovah has multiple personalities. Which doesn't seem likely.

So my question is as stated: Where does this Jehovah the Bible speaks of fit into the trinity? Is He simply alone the Most High and Almighty 1/3rd of the trinity? Or is He the complete 3/3rds of the trinity?

  • Jehovah's Witnesses, Have you ever thought about the Trinity from this angle?

I was just thinking about this earlier. But imagine the trinity was real and was actually what Jesus and his apostles taught. Now imagine you were in Corinth reading Paul's letter an you came to this point:

"there is actually to us one God, the Father, from whom all things are and we for him"

Can you imagine he immediate confusion this would cause? Surely you would think, "Wait a minute. If both the Son and the Holy Spirit are God, why is Paul saying only the Father is God?"

Or if you were an apostle at the evening meal and you hearJesus say:

"The Father is greater than I am"

Wouldn't you think "Hold on Jesus. You said that you and the Father are co-equal. How is He then greater than you?"

Or if you were Mary visiting his tomb and heard him say:

"Go to my brothers and tell them: I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God."

You'd probably say, "But Jesus, you told us that you ARE God. How are you ascending to yourself?"

Or walking by Jesus on the stake (or cross. If the pagan trinity is real then the pagan cross may as well be) when he yelled:

"My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?"

Wouldn't you just stand there thinking, "Jesus told us he is God. Why is he calling out to himself? And how has he forsaken himself?"

Given the amount of nonsense required to justify the trinity it would have been so hard to explain why these statements contradict! Just that it was an interesting aspect. Opinions? (From Witnesses)

  • Doesn't Colossians 1:15 Prove Jesus Was Created?

    Col 1:15

    the firstborn of all creation

Even though prototokos means first born as stated:

"The use of the word prototokos in the Bible always means one who has come into existence first in time - before all the rest of his "brothers"."- Jason BeDuhn's Truth in Translation

EVEN IF Col. 1:15 could be properly translated as "the pre-eminent one of all creation," it could only mean one thing: that he is the highest one of all created things (that is, he IS ONE OF THOSE CREATED THINGS)!

The word "pre-eminent" actually rules out the possibility of a double interpretation. For example: "The leader OF the wolves" is capable of a double interpretation: (A) "The Leader" could be one of the wolves himself. And (B), although unlikely, it is possible that the leader of the wolves is not one of the wolves himself. It is possible that he is a dog, coyote, or even a man. However, the phrase "smartest (or `smartest one') OF the wolves" does not allow for such an ambiguity, and it is, therefore, certain that this "smartest one" IS one of those wolves.

"Pre-eminent" (or "pre-eminent one"), like "smartest" (or "smartest one"), also does not allow for that ambiguity. The "pre-eminent one OF creation" has to be a part of that creation himself!

As we have already seen, the Bible clearly and repeatedly states that Jehovah (the Father alone) is pre-eminent over all creation. Therefore Jesus cannot be the pre-eminent one over all creation but is the first creation of God!

  • What Name Was Jesus Making Known? Why Would he Hide it From us?

    John 17:26

And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

Talking to his Father in prayer Jesus tells him he has made His name known. He did this so his Fathers love can be in us. Well what is that name? If Jesus made it known, why don't people know it? If people don't know it then how can their love be in us? Jesus said his Fathers name must be known so their love can be in us!

    John 17:6

I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world

Manifested means evident, obvious, and apparent. If Jesus made his Fathers name evident, obvious, and apparent then what is it?

    Matthew 6:9

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Hallowed means to honor or revere. How can we honor or revere a name that we do not know? There are MILLIONS of names. Which one is the Fathers name so we know which one to honor?

Why would such emphasis would be put on this name by Jesus in the New Testament but the New Testament would never reveal that name! It doesn't make sense. Something doesn't seem right.

The Divine Name King James Bible puts the name Jehovah in places where Jesus and the apostles quote the Old Testament. Like this:

    Revelation 1:8

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the LORD( God Jehovah Isa 44:6; Gen 17:1; Exo 6:3 ), which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

  • Can All of These Questions be Answered?

    If Jesus is Almighty God...

Why is "God head of Christ JUST AS Christ is head of man"? (1 Cor. 11:3)

Why does Scripture consistently phrase Jesus as a separate person from God? (John 20:17; John 14:1; Mark 10:18; John 17:1-3; etc. Also in heaven, 1 Cor. 11:3; Luke 22:69; etc.)

    How can Jesus have a God? Could Almighty God have a God? (Mic. 5:4; Ps. 45:6, 7; 89:26; John 20:17; Rom. 15:6; 2 Cor. 1:3; Eph 1:3; Col 1:3; Mark 15:34; John 17:1-3; Also in heaven, Rev. 1:6; 3:2, 12)

Why does Scripture say he was born and is part of Creation? (Col. 1:15)

Why does Rev. 3:14 say that Jesus is "the beginning of the creation of God"?

Why is he subject to GOD, like we're subject to him? (1 Cor. 15:27, 28; Eph. 1:17)

Why does Micah 5:2 say that Jesus' ORIGIN was “from early times”?

Why does Jesus not know what God knows? (Matt. 24:36, Rev.1:1; Luke 8:45)

Why is Jesus still subject to God when he is as high as he will ever be? (1 Cor. 15:27, 28)

Why does Proverbs 8:22-31 show that the Messiah was CREATED / PRODUCED by God?

Why is he not powerful enough to subject things to himself? (1 Cor. 15:27, Eph. 1:17, 22)

Why would he have to be given any power and authority? (Mt. 28:18; 11:27; Jn. 5:22; 17:2; 3:35; 2 Pet. 1:17)

Why did he have to learn anything? (Heb. 5:8; John 5:19; 8:28)

Why is speaking against him not as bad as speaking against the Holy Spirit? (Mt. 12:31,32; Luke 12:10)

Why did Jesus call the "Father...the only true God"? (John 17:3)

  • Did You See This Article on Yahoo About Hell?

    http://m.theweek.com/article/index/260496/what-chr...

Just another way the idea of hell doesnt make sense.

Concerning the use of “hell” to translate the original words (Hebrew she´ohl´ and the Greek hai´des) from the Hebrew and Greek, Vine’s Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words says:

“HADES . . . It corresponds to ‘Sheol’ in the O.T. [Old Testament]. In the A.V. of the O.T. [Old Testament] and N.T. [New Testament], it has been UNHAPPILY RENDERED [as] ‘Hell.’”

    Collier’s Encyclopedia says concerning “Hell”:

“First it stands for the Hebrew Sheol of the Old Testament and the Greek Hades of the Septuagint and New Testament. Since Sheol in Old Testament times referred SIMPLY TO THE ABODE OF THE DEAD and suggested no moral distinctions, the word ‘hell,’ as understood today, IS NOT A HAPPY TRANSLATION.”

Why it is an unsatisfactory translation of these original Bible words is because of the way that the word “hell” is understood today. It is not a fiery place of torment. Webster’s Third New International Dictionary under “Hell” says: “fr[om] . . . helan to conceal.”

Babylonian and Assyrian beliefs depicted the “nether world . . . as a place full of horrors, . . . presided over by gods and demons of great strength and fierceness.” Ancient Egyptian religious texts portray the “Other World” as featuring “pits of fire” for “the damned" - - The Religion of Babylonia and Assyria

Surprise. Hell is just another pagan teaching.

  • Exodus 6:3 calls Jehovah Almighty God, how can anyone else be equal to Him?

    Exodus 6:3

And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

The New Oxford American Dictionary, among others, the word Almighty is defined as: having complete power. Which means no one else has the same or more power, otherwise power of the Almighty wouldn't be complete and the power wouldn't be almighty.

    Psalms 83:18 says:

That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

Here it calls Jehovah the most high. Which also means no one is equal or higher.

Looking up synonyms on Dictionary.com for Almighty it says:

Allah, Creator, Father in Heaven, God, Heavenly Father, Jehovah, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Yahweh, the all-powerful

So obviously then, Jesus's Father, Jehovah is the Almighty God or God having supreme power. Knowing that the Bible does not contradict itself, why do people insist on denying Jehovah is the Almighty? Isn't that disrespectful to Jehovah and to Jesus who obviously knows that his Father is the Almighty? Basically people who think Jesus is the Almighty God are wrong and calling Jesus and Jehovah both liars.

That seems to me like a terrible mistake to make!
