King's or Christ's at Cambridge?
I am considering applying as an undergraduate to Cambridge University for HSPS (Archaeology). I don't know how likely I am to get in, but that's beside the point. After examining Cambridge's colleges, I find myself torn between King's College and Christ's College. Can anyone offer me some insight into the pros and cons of each? Thanks!

4 AnswersGovernment8 years agoKnocking in bike pedals?
There's been a knocking in my bike for a while and I've figured out that the problem occurs when force is transferred from one pedal to the other independent of the actual rotation. What is this problem and how do I fix it? I know next to nothing about bike parts, so your help is appreciated.
3 AnswersCycling8 years agoHow does the Speaker know who wishes to ask questions during question period?
I am American, but I enjoy watching Westminster-style parliaments in session, particularly question period or question time. How does the speaker know to call on certain MPs who have questions? Is there a set order?

I'm American and I would love to move to another country to escape the ridiculous American culture and politics. Which one of these countries would you recommend and why? I'm currently leaning toward NZ.
3 AnswersOther - Destinations8 years agoDo I have Diabetes, or is it imagined?
I've always been quite a bit of a hypochondriac, and my newest obsession is diabetes. I'm working on getting a test scheduled, but should I be worried? Here are my symptoms.
Foot numbness--ever so slight, so I could also be imagining it. It could also be frostbite, as I was recently at an outdoor bonfire where my feet went numb from the cold, and I do a lot of outdoor activity.
Eye blurring--also, could be imagined. Eye exam a year ago said perfect vision, but now I'm not so sure.
Occasional headache when eating sweet foods.
Migraines-- have had them for 3 years. Ibuprofen usually knocks them out.
Red face--my whole life.
Skin infections--frequently infected hair follicles on arms and legs, go away within a few days.
Thirsty-- drink a lot of water in the late afternoon, but almost none during the day.
Diet-- I wouldn't say I eat healthily. I eat good organic meals, but snack a lot on processed food.
I'm no fitness nut, but I exercise regularly.
Blood pressure is on the high end of normal.
Not overweight or underweight.

6 AnswersSoftware8 years agoHow are MPs elected in a parliamentary system?
Like all Americans, I think our government is inefficient. Also like all Americans, I don't understand the parliamentary system. I like the fact the the seats are proportional to the parties voted. However, I don't understand how this can work if voters in each constituency are voting for individual candidates. Please help me political scientists and international brethren!

I am interested in learning the Appalachian dulcimer. I am currently a musician and play violin, mandolin, percussion (including mallet instruments), and dabble in guitar. With my current musical knowledge, how hard would it be for me to learn the dulcimer?

1 AnswerDiet & Fitness9 years agoDream control help anyone?
I'm just starting to get into lucid dreaming and I occasionally (increasingly more often) realize that I am dreaming. However, I am still bound by the same natural laws as I am in the real world. I have tried to fly with little luck, only a brief hover which I'm not even certain happened. Any tips?
1 AnswerPsychology9 years agoDoes anyone else agree with me on this?
Science and religion are not naturally opposed to each other. Science explains the process of how an event occurs, while religion explains why. For example, science shows us that the universe what created from an ultra dense state which expanded rapidly. Why that occurred, why the universe even exists, is still fair game for religion to explain. Humans were created through lengthy, trial and error evolution, but that doesn't mean that a deity or a guiding, protective force didn't design the forces of nature to work that way. One can exist without the other, but seeing only religion or science is only seeing half of the picture. Anyone else feel like this?

I tape my drumsticks with electrical tape because it keeps me from destroying them as quickly. Also, it makes a nice grip. However, the tape I use is low lead. I figure I should wash my hands after using them, but is it toxic enough to be absorbed through the skin?
