  • Some of my wood laminate flooring has shrunk. Why has this happened? What can I do about it?

I have an open concept kitchen & living room. The wood laminate flooring extends through those 2 rooms and down the hallway leading to the bedrooms.

The flooring is "click" flooring, and is still fitting together width-wise, but has shrunk length-wise in the kitchen, leaving gaps of up to 1/2 inch between some planks.

The floor has never been soaked, but there have been splashes from the sink, and water dripping off the dog's chin after he has a drink. Could this have caused the shrinkage?

Other than replacing all the flooring throughout the kitchen, living room, and hallway, is there anything that I can do to fix it?

The flooring was installed before I moved into the house, but was new. The shrinkage started after less than 2 years.

If I replace the flooring, what will prevent this from happening again?

  • Can men & women be friends without becoming sexually involved?

I don't mean in high school or college, when almost everyone has lots of friends of both sexes. I mean as adults, say over 30.

Can you meet someone of the opposite sex, and become good friends, and not have sex with them?

If you didn't have sex with them because one or both of you were married, would you think about what it might be like?

And finally, if you were married, would you be comfortable going out for coffee or lunch with a friend of the opposite sex?

    Thanks
