Is it safe to use Scotts Fertilizer with a home on well water?
I just purchased a home that is on a well vs public utility. I've always used Scotts products to maintain my yard and have been happy with the results. But now that I have a home that uses a well, I just want to make sure that the fertilizer won't adversely affect water quality.
I am well aware of organic options, I would just like to know if Scotts fertilizer is relatively safe assuming I'm following the directions and not over using the chemicals.
4 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoHow to say good bye to co-workers on last day?
I've been with a company for 2 years and today is my last day. Any suggestions on how to say good bye? I had a great time there and I will certainly miss it. We'd hang on the couch, drink soda and play table football. 1 dollar to the best answer.

1 AnswerEtiquette1 decade agoWhat size outlet on valve for faucet/toilet?
I'm finishing off a new bathroom and I am at the point to install the valves on the water supply lines coming out of the wall for the vanity faucet and the toilet.
So, my question is, what size of an output do I need for the valve (that goes from the valve to faucet/toilet), 3/8 or 1/2? The supply line into the valve is 1/2".
I haven't purchased the faucet yet and it looks like the toilet needs 7/8's on the toilet end.
I went to HD and the cost of the valves is the same, so whatever is the best/correct solution would be great.
Thanks
2 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoHow to set bullnose tile?
I'm going to be tiling a bathroom this weekend and I'm not completely sure how to handle the bullnose tile. The bullnose will be on the wall, along the edge of the floor, sort of like a baseboard. The floor will be tile too. So, my question is, do I set a gap for grout between the top of the floor tile and the bottom of the bullnose or do i set the bullnose flush to the floor tile?
Also, can i set the bullnose as I set the floor tile or should I wait for the floor tile to set before I add the bullnose?
thanks
7 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoHow to unclog a drain with dried paint in it?
I realize I am probably asking for a miracle, but I have a utility sink that has been used to clean out paint pans over the years. I think the last pan that was cleaned out had a bit too much paint in it and now the drain doesn't drain as well (not a full clog, I'd say 50% clogged). Its been a while since i cleaned the last pan, so the paint has had time to set up.
The paint is standard interior house paint (latex I believe).
I've tried things like liquid plumber/draino with no real results.
Any miracle cure?
I have yet to replace the trap or to even open it up to see how bad it is, but that would be my next step if there's nothing out there.
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWhat threshold to use with slate tile and carpet?
I have an unfinished bathroom that I will be tiling with slate tile. The hallway adjoining the bathroom is carpet. What threshold do I use for the slate? They don't seem to make slate thresholds (just marble). Is my only option a metal edging? Any other options?
I'd like to be able to purchase anything I need locally from Home Depot or Lowes, so nothing too exotic.
thanks
8 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoCan you reuse title insurance with a refi..?
I purchased my home 3 years ago and now I'm refinancing. I'm trying to shave as much on closing as possible. Can you reuse the title insurance from the previous settlement company? Or at least use it to supplement any new title insurance that may be required?
8 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoHow do I format a drive that has a dual boot on it?
I currently have a drive with the option to boot to either XP Pro or XP Home. I'd like to wipe both out and do a fresh install of XP Pro.
I tried formatting from the windows setup menu, but that only took care of the single install, not both. I'm not sure where to go from here. Any help or direction would be great.
thanks
