Uh oh. My ex is in town and wants to talk, but he has no clue that I'm gay. What to do?
He left a message on my machine asking me to call him. I'm not sure if I should though. We broke up in Feb. and since then I've realized that I'm gay. Simply telling him that I'm not interested probably won't do much. I used that excuse when we broke up a couple of times before, but I just turned around and took him back. He's the type who begs and cries, so if I say "not interested," he probably won't take me seriously.
I guess I could just tell him I'm gay. It would probably have a greater affect, but I'm a little paranoid because I'm not sure that he can keep the news to himself. We live in the deep south, and I don't want my family to find out through secondhand information. Some of them are pretty religious.
So basically, If I don't tell him I'm gay he'll think he still has a chance. If I do tell him I'm gay I risk being outed. What am I to do?
8 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoWhat are the names of the religions practiced by the ancient Greeks and Romans?
Today we just refer to them as Greek mythology and Roman mythology, but what are their "technical" names? I'm sure they have official names, just like Christianity and Buddhism have official names.

Doesn't have to be a band that's still together.

12 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoFor those of you who didn't realize your TRUE orientation at a young age...?
Do you look back now and realize there were subtle signs that you weren't straight, but you just didn't pick up on them at the time?
For example, today I watched Walk The Line for the first time in a while, and I remembered back to the first couple of times I saw it. I used to always stare at Reese Witherspoon.
I thought Joaquin Phoenix was good, but whenever she was on the screen I just focused on her. Now I'm smacking myself on the head going, "man, that was gay!"
12 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoQuestion for people from the UK, or anyone else who might know.?
I watch movies and shows made in the UK from time to time, and i've seen characters make a certain hand gesture with their first two fingers. It's like making a peace sign, and then waving it back and forth. What does that mean? Is it the same as flipping someone off? I hope that made sense.

16 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoU.S. citizens, do you fully trust our government?
After learning about the Tuskegee experiments and MKULTRA I can't fully trust our government. More recently, before we invaded Iraq we were lied to about the danger that Saddam and his country directly posed to us. I'm not trying to be political or anything. I know that politicians on all sides are generally dishonest.

How do you account for the fact that there is no geological evidence to support such a flood? Not trying to attack anyone's beliefs. Just curious to hear opinions.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoThe God Delusion or God Is Not Great?
If you have read either of these books, what did you make of them? I'm trying to decide which one to buy, and I want to know if they basically just cover the same topics. Or do you think there is a better book out there that covers atheism?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDo any Christians on here support same sex marriages/unions?
According to Christianity, homosexuality is a sin. So, what makes it more vile than any other sin? Is there a rating system for sins? As an atheist i'm considered a sinner, but I still have the right to get married. Even A convicted murderer has the right to marriage. So are are atheism and murder considered lesser evils when compared to homosexuality?
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoPathetic attempt to justify the mixing of religion and government?
The conventional propaganda redarding church and state these days, and which has gradually permeated much of our judiciary goes like this: "It is unconstitutional for the gov. and the public schools to include endorsements of the christian religion." The result, as pointed out by Dr. Dave Miller of Apologetics Press is, "an ongoing and systematic elimination of allusions to god, christ, and the bible in the public life of america."
If their premise be true then our Constitution is unconstitutional, reasons Miller. And he is absolutely right. For example, the U.S. Constitution closes with the words: "Done in Convention by the Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of Our Lord." Oops! Did you see that?
That tripe was printed in my local newspaper. Of course I live in the bible belt.
