4 AnswersSingles & Dating2 years agoWhat s the more effective workout machine to lose weight?
I want to get a mini workout machine to use at home. I don t have a lot of space, or money, so a full sized machine is out of the question. I m looking between a mini stepper machine to do standing, or mini exercise bike for sitting. Not looking for brand recommendations or anything, just wondering what you think is more effective to lose a little bit of weight and just maintain my health? Thanks in advance :)
75 AnswersDiet & Fitness2 years agoCover Letter Wording Help!?
Hi, I m trying to write a cover letter for casual employment in a hospitality setting. I ve been away for the past 8 months (travelling and working for a little bit at a summer camp in the US) however, so thought i should explain the gap in my cover letter. But I just don t know how to write it without sounding messy. Can someone good at writing give me a hand. This is what I have so far..
"I have recently returned from 8 months of over seas travel, during some of that time i worked as a camp counsellor at a summer camp in the USA. Now that i ve returned, I m looking to pick up some casual work in a cafe environment."
Does that make sense? I think it sounds messy but don t know how else to write it. Any help would be great, Thanks :)
5 AnswersEtiquette2 years agoCool and random skills to learn?
I want to learn some new random skills that I use as secret talents in the future - things like knowing how ice skate really well, or knowing another language good enough get by. I want to find some new hobbies, and seem mysterious when people find out I can play the piano really well. I'm learning some of these things mentioned, but what else could I learn?
2 AnswersPsychology3 years agoGood camera for travelling?
Hi there, I've got a few trips planned for the next few months and am looking for a good camera to buy instead of using my phone all the time.
I'd really like a simple point-and-shoot camera, that's preferably water proof since I like to go snorkelling. I want to use it mostly for photos, but okay film and sound would be excellent too since i could make small videos for my family and friends back home.
Also do any have wifi or bluetooth so that I can send some pics to my phone since i won't be bringing a laptop or anything? I would like to send a few to my phone so I can send them to people and show where I am. What do you other travellers do? I asked some people at the local tech places and they recommend GoPro's but I thought they were mainly for film.
I'm not limited by a price range, I just want something good that won't let me down. I was originally looking at the olympus tg-4/5, so does anyone know if either of those are good? What does everybody else use when travelling, and any suggestions for what I should get would be great. Thanks :)
13 AnswersCameras4 years agoCool and adventurous activity suggestions?
So I'm 19, and I'm fairly happy with my life, however I want to do heaps more fun and exciting things with my life so that I can tell cool stories to people, and also as an adventure for myself. At the moment I'm working a lot so that I can save up and travel and do more expensive things next year, but what can I do at the moment?
I want to be one of those people who tells stories of when they were young and how they were like proffesional skiers in france but gave it up to be a park ranger at a lion sanctuary in Africa etc. Like i just want the most epic, adventurous and original things to do, so any suggestions on what you think would be cool to pursue?
4 AnswersPolls & Surveys4 years agoAre my friends bad people or am I just over reacting?
Okay, so I've had some friends since high school, and we've always been best friends. We left school at the end of 2015, and tried to catch up heaps during uni last year. During the middle of the year I became depressed and was having suicidal thoughts, and told one of my friends but she never seemed to care. After that I started to spend less time with them bc I wanted to work on my mental health, and although I didn't spell it out, I did hint to them numerous times that I was mentally unwell, but I still think they thought of it as a joke. Towards the end of the year I had my birthday, and tried to organise something, but they all cancelled on the initial arrangement and made me reschedule. This happenned too for xmas when I planned something, but they never even bothered to rearrange something. I even bought them all xmas presents. They have also cancelled on plans at the last minute numerous times in the past, which makes me feel so betrayed and also a factor to what caused my depression. I was so hurt after the bday and xmas situation that I decided to see how long it would be for them to contact me. But It's now Feburary and 2 or the 3 still haven't even attempted to contact me. I talked to the other girl and she said the others we're mad at me or something, but refused to say anything more. I don't know why they could be mad at me, is it just because I stopped hanging out as much when I was trying to get better?
I don't have any other friends, what should I do?
2 AnswersFriends4 years agoWhat do cool young people drink at parties?
I'm 19 and going to a friends house party this weekend. I don't usually drink much, but thought I may as well this weekend, but I wanna look cool and look like I'm not a total newbie at drinking. So what I'm asking is what do cool young people drink at parties?
Also I don't like beer
By the way, I live in Australia where the drinking age is 18, so its legal.
Thanks :)
16 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits4 years agoBloating, abdominal pain and loss of appetite - what is wrong with me?
Lately I've been having troubles with my stomach. For the past few weeks I've been getting regular stomach aches, and lately I've been feeling so bloated and have a loss of appetite. Yesterday my bloat was so bad I was in so much pain, I thought I had actually got a bug. I never feel hungry anymore, and can go the entire day without eating, I even sometimes feel sick thinking about food, but I force myself to at least eat dinner, however it makes me even more bloated. I'm 20 and I try to eat healthy, like I eat vegetables regularly and drink lots of water, and don't eat much junk food, but nothing is relieving the discomfort. I also have a bad taste in my mouth lately, but I went to the dentist and they said my mouth was fine and they couldn't do anything about it. Also sometimes when I eat I nearly throw up, like I can feel it come up my throat. I've never had any problems like this before, so does anyone know what might be wrong with me?
I've tried looking it up, and can't afford to go to the doctors. Someone said it could be bad gut bacteria bc I took some antibiotics a few weeks ago but all the information about just says its cancer or something bad like that.
Any help would be good thanks xx
2 AnswersOther - Health5 years agoTips to find a boy friend? (preferably from guys lol)?
I'm nearly 20 and necer had a bf. I'm really shy and literally don't know any boys either since I've been to all girls schools my whole life and none of my friends have brothers or boyfriends either. I go out to clubs but get really nervous approaching boys. Any tips on what I could wear or do to seem sexy or whatever so they can maybe approach me? Like what do you guys look for in girls? Please be as descriptive as possible :)
1 AnswerSingles & Dating5 years agoMy parents are so unfair, what can I do?
I hate my life, and my parents. They are just so unfair. They never get me anything, or do anything for me. Last year they didn't even get me a present for my birthday. I'm 17 and still at school so I don't have enough time to work and get my own money, and I don't get pocket money, but they expect me to buy everything (except food) for myself. Like they won't buy me clothes, even school uniforms, and even basic toiletries like shampoo.
If they ever give me money for lunch at school I have to save that, or money others give me for my birthday/christmas, just so I can buy needed things. Its so unfair and its making me so depressed bc I'm missing out on so many opportunities bc of my lack of money. For example, I can't go to the movies, or lunch with my friends.
I've had the same phone since I was 14 (they stopped paying for me when I turned 16) and now it's broken so I can't even get a new one. I also share a room with my brother and I can't have friends over or anything bc I'm so ashamed of my house. I asked if they were tight on money but they said they weren't bc they both work full time and we inherited lots of money from my grandma a few years back.
I'm just so upset and think its so unfair that they treat me like this when I'm a top student and try my best to be a good daughter. I actually think they are making me depressed bc lately I can't stop crying/getting emotional, and just wish that I was born to someone else.
What can I do to make them change their ways?

4 AnswersSingles & Dating5 years agoCan someone reword this to make it sound better?
Please reword this:
"I am currently studying my second year part time at Oxford University, and am now seeking casual employment in a restaurant environment during this time."
This is just to put in a resume. Btw I don't go to Oxford I just didn't want to give away my location lmao. Thanks :)
5 AnswersWords & Wordplay5 years agoEpic way to end a toxic friendship?
I have a group of friends that do not care about me whatsoever. I know that they enjoy hanging out with me due to my energy, knowledge, humour and loyalty, but as I'm always the one who listens to their problems and interests, I feel they use me just for that and actually forget about mine. I have brought this up a few times before and have even offered to pay for them to come and join me watch plays and stuff (I am a drama student), but they just never reply to me and start talking about them. I feel so hurt and have tried many time to get them to think about me for once, and am now suffering from depression and suicidal thoughts because of my isolation. I have decided now that I must end this toxic friendship, but being the dramatic type I am, want to end it with a bang!
Therefore, what is an epic way to end the friendship, and in particular make them think about my feelings for once? A way that they may look at themselves and realise all the trauma they've caused me over the past few years, and hopefully then they might apologise and try themselves to reconect to me.
Please help, thanks :)
4 AnswersFriends5 years agoWhat should I do with my life?
I'm 19 years old and I am just so miserable with my life I don't know what I should do, and nobody seems to want to help, or cares about me. I have just compleated 1 year of University and am just about to start my second, but its literally the worst thing I've ever done in my life! I want to quit so bad but my parents and friends all tell me not to. I also think I have depression and/or anxiety and feel so sad and unenergetic all the time. If I could have any choice for my future it would be to start a farm but I need money to start that in the first place. My life is so terribly boring and I have hardly any friends. The decision to continue with uni is tearing me up.
What do you think I should do?
