Waking up from sleep thinking there are spiders on me?
For the past 4 months I have been waking up in the middle of a dead sleep thinking there are spiders either crawling above me, lowering down on to me and even on me.
The first time it happened I woke up and turned the light on because I swore there was a giant red spider crawling on a web right above my face but there was no spider. I was awake when I thought I saw the spiders.
The second time I thought one was lowering down onto me... again, I woke up from a dead sleep and saw the spider and when I turned on the light there was no spider.
The third time I jumped out of bed and flung all the covers off me and my husband and started slapping spiders off me... and once again, there was no spiders. This time, however, I never saw the spiders awake, it must have been in my dream.
Now, last night I became aware in the middle of the night that I was talking to my husband and was asking him why he laid spider eggs all my face. I realized what I was saying and went back to sleep. My husband asked if I remember waking him up. I told him I remember asking him about the spider eggs, but not waking him up. Apparently I was yelling at him and shaking him asking why he laid spider eggs on me.
I don't take any drugs, recreationally or prescription. I do smoke weed, but less than a bowl a day and not enough to mess with my mind (been smoking for years, heavily in the past, and never had this problem). I don't eat sugar at night and sometimes have a light snack 2 hours before I go to sleep. I had a sleeping disorder when I was younger, but it has been almost 10 years since I experienced this problem. I am hesitant to see a doctor and be placed on sleeping medication. Has anyone else experienced this or have any insight into what I might be experiencing?

Background: My cat is a very loved 6 years old Korat and has been an indoor cat for 4 years of his life, his first two years spent as an indoor/outdoor cat.
He had no problem transitioning to an indoor cat when we moved out of a house. We have moved three times in four years and he has always adjusted easily, until our last move.
Since moving this last time, he has become more vocal and tries desperately to get out. His behavior includes darting for the front door when it opens (not a usual behavior in other apartments) and clawing up the carpet around the back door. He also tries to claw it open and has a few times already.
I don't understand where the change is coming from, can anyone offer some insight??
4 AnswersCats1 decade agoTemporary break from marijuana?
I will be heading into my last quarter of college and I plan to not smoke weed that quarter in the possibility that I will be drug tested for a new job. I usually smoke in the evening when everything I need to do is done and I can function w/o it (not a maintenance smoker). What can I expect from quitting weed after smoking almost everyday for the last 4 years? I have taken breaks before for 10 days or so while on vacations and I didn't experience any kind of side-effects, but I will be not smoking for three months and would appreciate any insight.
