  • What tans do you use?

What fake tans do you use and why? I'm looking for a fake tan, that's is semi waterproof, I understand most aren't waterproof. I have gradual tanners, however I don't realt get a 'tan' from these. I don't tan naturally either, and I live in the UK, so I don't get hot weather anyway! I don't mind paying a the price as such. P.s I did exfoliate, moisturise etc. I also had a spray tan at the salon, that was great, but far to expensive to maintain when it only lasts a week or so.

  • Waterproof fake tans and tips?

Basically I'm looking for a nice fake tan, that's waterproof. I have pale skin, and I dislike it. I currently own a garnier and st. Tropez self tanner gradual tans, but I don't seem to find a positive effect from these. I have used instant fake tans previously, but all were not waterproof, such as st. Moritz, and I disliked it because every time it rained, or when I went t school and put deodorant on, it streaked, and even went green on my white shirt!! So any tips, or fake tans, videos or anything which is intended to help me would be great. Don't mind paying a little bit of money. P.s I did use tanning mitts before, and exfoliated, moisturised etc.

  • Face washes for acne prone oily skin?

I have stopped using my usual face wipes, as they became to feel rather harsh on my skin. I brought the Pink grapefruit facewash by Neutrogena, and it broke me out so badly, i use it morning and night. Is there any face washes you could recommend for me? Uk please, and not alot of money. I'd rather not pay money and it not work. It needs to help acne, and maybe make my skin soft? I do use clean and clear oil free moisturiser, and prime, these are not breaking me out, i know it's the facewash:-), thanks xxx

  • I get quiet lonely when I horse ride, considering livery?

My family have their own field, but it's my pony and my dads pony up at the horse field, we only have a field, and he doesn't ride, he drives his pony, but it's rare, as he works alot. I rarely get to ride my pony, only once a week if i'm lucky, thats because my mum and dad are busy, and can't stay up at the field with me, so it's hard. I'd love to go to a livery, where I can socialise with other young people like me. My mums friend who has horses, mum and dad owns a livery, and they have vacancies, but i don't actually dare to ask her, cause i do not want her to feel that i am ungrateful. How could i ask her? I've just moved her to the field i'm at now, but it's not that i don't like it, it's just that i am lonely. My mum used to ride, but she stopped a couple of years ago. How do I ask my mum without sounding selfish and ungrateful?

  • Presentation on horses and horse riding?(read if your horsey or not!!)?

I have been asked to do a presentation, this was the brief:

'Your presentation will be focused on an area of interest to you personally. You will need a suitable focus i.e 'Norwich City Football Club without Paul Lambert' rather than just football in general, you must aim to persuade your audience to get involved with your area of interest. Your class mates will be required to ask questions at the end so ensure you are prepared'

That is my brief, I am actually only interested in horse riding! But, I do not show etc. just hack out and in general horsemanship bonding. What kind of things would you horsey people add into this presentation? And if you are not horsey, what would you like to hear.

    I have a structure prepared:

    Area of interest? Horse riding.

What is it? Bonding and riding in general,

Why is it interesting? (what shall I put?)

What personal experience do I have? Lived with horses a majority of my life.

Turning negatives into positives? People being scared of them, but you have to understand them.

How could you get involved? Different riding schools in my local area and how they benefit people.

I need to prepare a speech, but am not aloud to read it off a script. I can also prepare a Powerpoint to give a visual aid to the viewers.

Any serious ideas will be appreciated, please answer asap.

    Thanks,

    Millie x

  • How to ride bareback and bridleless?

I can ride bareback, but my balance is awful! I need to work on it, after recently discovering I use my stirrups and saddle for support.

Do you have any tips for riding bareback? What can make it easier? Also, my pony isn't very responsive, she is okay with reins when turning, but she isn't that good with stopping, is there any thing I can do to help my voice commands with her, so I will be able to ride with just a halter, and be able to slow her down just by voice.

How do other people do it?

    Serious answers only.

  • Thinking of giving up horse riding:(?

I get really upset, because my mum doesn't horse ride anymore, and it's only me that does. My family have their own field, it doesn't have stables or menage etc. but it does have okay hacking. I am recently beginning to get upset, because I have saw how bitchy the horse world is, and I feel that I'm not good enough, and I shouldn't really be horse riding anymore, because there is no point. It used to be so fun when my mum used to ride, and now I have to hack out by myself, and it's not to fun. Anything you could suggest that can persuade me to not give up? I've had horses since I was 6, I'm now nearly 14 and I begun horse riding when I was 3-4 at a riding school. I love horses, but just am recently struggling to find a point in it all:(

  • Commitments and money advice concerning livery costs?

I live in the UK, in Nottinghamshire. I'm going through a reasonably hard time, and my parents are thinking of getting a divorce, not going into details, but I feel that my pony's best option would be livery, but even though they were together, they still said i couldn't put her in livery at £25 as they said it wouldn't be fair on my other siblings, who are none horsey. Christmas is coming, and my birthday is in march, what would you think of me asking my mum if I could not have alot of christmas or birthday presents and give up my spending money of £10 a week, so i could put my pony in livery for £25 a week? What do you think? And how would I ask without her thinking i'm spoit and ungrateful?

  • Pets- Horses. How do you pay for livery costs?

I have a pony, and she lives on a field. We don't have stables etc. My mum and dad can't afford livery. But I never get too see my pony during the week, my dad's just too busy to bring me up to her, she has water etc up there already. I ever get to look after her properly! I just feel like selling her. But my love for horses is so strong!! What can I do for help towards costs? My friends who have just got horses are boasting about their liveries and their horses, I just get so upset. They pay £25 per week, this is alot of money really! I only get £10 per week. What can I do? or give up etc.

  • Pro's + cons of Netbooks/Notebooks?

I only use my laptop devices for printing documents out, and researching on them. So in i.e not much. My laptop recently broke, I was enquiring into the iPad 2, however since I discovered that they do not print nor type a document, I feel this isn't the best approach for me. I do not want to be paying stupid money, such as £500 like I did for my previous laptop! I feel the price on the Netbook is suitable and appropriately priced. I currently own a Kodak which is wireless, but requires a disk in order to download it on the computer, will I be able too print still? Using a USB? Also, will I be able to type a word document? And, do they come with already installed Microsoft?

  • Owners of the iPad 2?

I recently have broke my laptop, and in need of another one, it came to my knowledge that the iPad could be a good investment. However, I need a few necessities in order for it too be my next buy.

Does your iPad 2 print too a wireless printer? Can you use word document? Is it basically like a laptop? Would I be a lot better just buying a laptop?

  • Winter rugging, horse owners help!?

I have a Welsh Section B mare, and have had her for 3 years, this will be my third winter with her. When I first got her, she was frail and skinny, and so obviously needed rugging, I rugged her in a thick turn out rug, she had shelter (tree's) and was also fed hay and also bucket fed, this built her up fantastically, and by last year we had the turnout rug on hand ready, fed her, her usual winter food, chaff and pony mix, and also supplied hay, this was because there was no grass, and she did not shiver, and was as warm as anything so she actually didn't need rugging last year! She isn't stabled during winter, and never has been, all her life. She's wore rugs, but that was when she was frail and shivering. She has had shelter as I mentioned earlier in the past two winter's we've had her, but there was no grass or not much during the winter months, that was why we have had to feed her. This year, I'm thinking of buying her a rug, but not knowing where to start. The situation has changed because I have moved her fields, where the grass is apparently nutritious and there all year, up till January and that's when I'm planning to feed her, however, there is no tree's on this new field for shelter, so I was thinking of purchasing a new lightweight, but since being told there not waterproof, only shower proof, I feel this will not benefit her? What can I use, without making her to warm?

Please no comments on how my Welsh section B will be cold, because I see her more times, and understand she doesn't need rugging..

  • What bit should I use?

I have a 10 year old mare, she's a Welsh Section B, and recently, when on a hack, she would not stand still, and when it was time to go home, on the way back, she constantly wanted to bolt off, I couldn't let the reins loose slightly, my hands were killing! Her teeth are alright, tack's fine. She's in no discomfort at all, she just pulls, and it's a real pain. What type of bit would be strong enough to stop her pulling off and having full control? Also, I feel that even if I did get a bit, my mare may not stand completely, she has really bad manners. Even when I dismounted and tried to stop her at a busy main road, she pulled and pulled, anyone know ways of training her?

  • Choice in long living rodents?

I used to have 2 rats, and loved them. I always said, i wasn't going too get anymore, as i thought that they didn't live long enough(2 years-3years), and it's heart breaking when they die. Is there any rodents that live longer? But have a nice nature? I really want some more little rodents, but just not sure.
