There IS a war in America. The future of education is at stake. The religious would like you to think that they are "live and let live" types. This could not be further from the truth. They want you to let them be, but they don't want to let you be. They insist on trying to get their perversions into the school curriculum. They want to mis-educate our youth. The bible has one thing correct. You can not sit on the fence. You must choose a side; Reason or Subjugation.

  • Would it be a contradiction to be a Taoist and an Atheist?

It seems to me that Taoism at it's core promotes "something" that would explain the underling "drive" organisms and the universe seem to have. While Atheism seems to simply hold a position that the "drive" is not personal nor does it need worship.

I would love to hear your thoughts.

I mean if not believing in God is a religion, I thought this would make sense too.

  • what were Jesus' last words?

MAT 27:46,50: "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, eli, lama sabachthani?" that is to say, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" ...Jesus, when he cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost."

LUK 23:46: "And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, "Father, unto thy hands I commend my spirit:" and having said thus, he gave up the ghost."

JOH 19:30: "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, "It is finished:" and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."

  • Would it not be believers fault that America and perhaps the world is "bad"?

I saw on a Christian channel that America was a battle ground. That Porn, sex in advertising, and the attack on religion in politics was the work of the Devil. Yet in another program they cited a poll that America was 75% religious. That begs the Question; If America is supply and demand, why would these things be there if only the minority secular people wanted them? Instead of wanting laws made against these things, should the religious just stop buying, and buying into these things? If they truly are the majority wouldn't their time be better served fixing themselves instead of trying to control others? Instead of trying to mold people into what they seem unable to do with themselves?

  • National day of prayer...Why don't they understand?

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion..." What part of this do they not understand? It is simple. The government can not endorse Religion. Prayer regardless of denomination is RELIGION. It can not be backed by a Law. and the national day of prayer is a Law. The law formalizing its annual observance was enacted in 1952. It is unconstitutional, PERIOD

  • Why is science Ok when it is saving your life?

But it is not good enough to explain the origins of a species?

I don't see god in there working on a cure for cancer. I don't see god growing artificial organs.

You have heard the "why does god hate amputees?" well it seems pretty soon we wont need to ask that question either. Science is well on it's way to growing back limbs.

So why is it so hard for people to admit that the science, the same science in some cases, that shows our DNA is linked to a common ancestor with Apes, is not good for Evolution?

However it is good enough to diagnosis your viral cold?

  • Is it really possible to have a rational debate with theists?

Yes it is true that you cannot prove a negative. This seems to take the burden off atheists much of the time. I would submit that once a religion defines their god though, you should be able to sufficiently show evidence that their particular god is not true. The problem however comes when the theists of whatever belief get said evidence. They then alter the definition of their god to work around the problem OR deny the evidence all together. It is therefore my contention that rational debate is impossible with theists as they are intellectually dishonest. What do you all think? Am I wrong and how so?

  • De-converted religious (new Atheists) what was…?

The turning point or trigger that made you realize there was no God?

Did you find it strange the first time the words, “There is no God.”, Passed your lips?

I know I was reading the bible with my wife, as we did every night, aloud to each other. We were going through the OT, determined to get through and understand every word in context. After about the fourth or fifth bloody temper tantrum. I said, in my head at first, “I think this might all be wrong.” I read further and said aloud this time, “this is not right, it can’t be.” After weeks more of rigorous study I finally set down my bible and said aloud “There is no God.” It was the strangest moment in my life. And I think at that moment my brain grew two sizes.

Email me with your stories if you would like. I may put them all in a book or something.

  • Can Atheists of all forms please answer?

I was curious about activist Atheists. I am a de-converted Christian and I have a great deal of anger toward religion and I am very active in debates and slamming religion. While I am convinced that Religion is harmful, I cannot help at times feel that I am being irrational about how hardly I go after it.

    So the questions are;

Are you an active Atheist or passive? If active How so?

    AND

Are you de-converted or have never believed, and from what religion if de-converted?

I am in with the season of polling I guess.

  • What makes your God so Angry?

His abdula oblongata, Or is his teeth just to big for his mouth? The point to the question is; Chemicals affect human emotion, how does a spiritual being have emotion? Most especially Jealousy and anger. These two intrigue me the most because it would seem that a being powerful enough to create would be above those emotions.Just give me some Info on this please?

  • Why do you believe in a God(s)?

The question is not a set up for ridicule on your beliefs. I simply want to know if you have reflected on why you personally believe in the god you believe in.

I did this “soul” searching when I believed. I came up with two reasons at the time. One, I was always told that God was real and he wanted me to believe it or I would burn in hell, and Two, I think I really wanted to.

So…Do you believe because of tradition? Or perhaps it was because someone brought you a message of salvation during a time when you felt bad about the kind of person you were and you wanted the release of a burden. Maybe some really significant events happen that you could explain no other way.

Whatever it is, Please share it with me. I would really like to know. Oh, and this is open to all religions.

  • Mathematical Proof that the bible is from God?

Are you serious? I have been given this as an answer as to what proves the bible is gods word.

Well I looked up this "proof" It seems to be someone making the math work. I want to know if there is anyone who has real tested proof from an unbiased source?

Also is this the same mathematicians that say the population of the earth reduced backwards to the flood date of the bible proves the earth is 6000 years old? Of course using their same math it means 17 people built the pyramids.

  • Why is the bible considered the Ultimate authority on God?

The Vita Adae et Evae & Apocalypsis Mosis are where many of the details are found with respect to bible stories told by word of mouth rather than read and studied by Christians. Details that most Christians take for granted are in the bible. However, the stories are not there. This is not a question about the validity of the stories. It is simply a question of why the bible is chosen over these predated Jewish writings.

  • Atheists...Are we Angry or Frustrated?

I was answering another question when this came to mind. This is the answer to the other question below.

“I think you misunderstand frustration for anger. I tell my kids there are no monsters under the bed or in the closet. About the fiftieth time they wake me up about the monster…I am very frustrated. I love my children and am not angry with them. They don’t know any better. I am frustrated with their ignorance and my inability to substantially prove that there is no monster.”

Does it make sense? Are we more frustrated by the ignorant religious…or more because we have yet to have a sustainably answer to quail there god fears.

  • This is why we fight, isn't it?

    http://www.citizen-times.com/article/20091208/NEWS...

We can not allow theist to run our country by theist law, when they can clearly not discern just from unjust.

Even though this law is still on the books it is clearly unjust. In some states the rule of thumb law has never been taken off the books. That is a law that allows a husband to beat his wife as long as what he beats her with is no bigger than his thumb.

So the question is…Do you see why Atheists insist on opposing religion instead of simply letting the religious indoctrinate our children into thinking laws like this one should be upheld?

  • Is there a bible supplemental?

You know the one that tells you which things in the bible are literal and which ones are to be followed to the letter. It must have the information that clarifies how a day is to god like a million years is to us. Or how when god says not to murder, it has the clause that says it is ok to murder women children and nursing babies if god commands it.

It must exist, because I have read the same bible that many apologist explain the inconsistencies with. The preachers must have access to it also. They all seem to have explanations that just don’t have any real biblical foundation.

If information is to be found outside of the bible to explain it, how does one discern valid explanations from invalid ones?

I don’t want to turn this question into a book so I will not add any more examples. I just want to know where the information comes from to explain a gods mind outside said bible that clearly is missing some vital information.

  • A child asked me this...Does it make sense Christians?

If Adam sinned and all were therefore born into sin without having to do anything but be born, Why doesn't jesus death automatically forgive all born from his death forward without having to do anything further but be born? I mean if you can be born into sin why can't you be born into salvation...the first birth...not born again? Does that not sell as many tickets to the pews?

  • what seems more realistic?

that a god...or a man wanted jews to have the "promised land"?

I was watching the military strategy of Moses on the history channel. The genius of slaughtering everyone as he moved toward the “promised land” was that he left no one to sneak up on his rear as he moved his people in to dominate the land he wanted.

It showed how his desire and not a god moved him through these tribes, who because of their beliefs were a threat. This Egyptian raised and trained individual used the god of the slaves to manipulate and control them to allow for him to build his own kingdom.

Of course his brutality and not the power of “his” god is the reason for the spreading and survivability of “his” religion. I mean who would take a chance on being slaughtered? Why not just pick the Jews god and survive?
