How do some Christians function with their paranoid delusions?
I read so many questions on here about people thinking we are living in "the end times," that Obama is the antichrist, that everyone is trying to persecute them and I can't comprehend living like that. How must life be when you think everyone is out to get you? How could you function in life when you are constantly jumping at shadows? If their faith that they are "saved" is stronger than their fear why do they talk about all these "evils" constantly? I know I'm looking for logic where none exists but I'm trying to understand anyway.

Would you accept Jesus if he was really like he was in that book? I would almost consider converting if I could use that for my bible and throw out all the 2000 year old bigotry and nonsense, all the "good stuff" if repeated there anyway. For all the false idol and blaspheme answers I'm going to get, this was a book written about Jesus by a man just like the bible was so the "God wrote it through him" argument works just as well here.
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy does it seem that extremely religious people have no sense of humor?
When it comes to jokes about faith or religion in most cases. Like the whole thing a couple of years ago with the Muslims and the cartoon of Muhammad. Extreme Christians are just as bad with anything remotely making fun of religion. One time I had bumper stickers on my car that read "Darwin Loves You" and "God was my copilot but we crashed in the woods and I had to eat him" and someone ripped them off my car and stuck them under my windshield whipper. I can understand things that are insulting them wouldn't be funny but things that are just irreverent like the movie "Dogma" or the book "Lamb" by Christopher Moore get people so riled up for really no reason. These are the same people who are quick to ridicule and make fun of others who don't share their beliefs but can't ever seem to laugh at themselves. Also I'm not saying all Religious people are like this (I know many who aren't in fact) so please I don't need a ton of "I"m religious and laugh at religious jokes" answers (though I'm sure I'll get them anyway) I just want to know about the ones that can't.
