How do you read the betting line in a newspaper such as the New York Post? For example: Even-6.?
I know how I and most people normally bet on baseball (money line, point spread of 1.5). I am not asking about anything except the betting lines in the newspaper.
3 AnswersGambling6 years agoDuring a kickoff in soccer, is there an offside rule?
When I was in middle school our soccer team had a game in which we went to overtime. We assumed that it was golden goal, so when we scored we celebrated, thinking the game was over. It turns out that it was not golden goal and the referee allowed the opposing team to kick the ball off while most of our team was celebrating on the opposing teams side of the field. When we realized this I chased down the ball and caught the player with the ball, stopping the attack (lucky us). We ended up winning by the one goal margin but I was wondering if the ref should have allowed the kickoff to take place. If they are allowed to kick the ball off, does that permit the defending team to stand on their side of the field? I know that only the offensive team is allowed inside the center circle (I believe only two players, though). Did the ref make a mistake? It is a tough question to find an answer to without reading the fifa rule book (which I have no intention of doing).
P.S. I would love to know the fifa rules which governed club and high school soccer. please don't tell me it differs between different middle school conferences. I just want to know the fifa rules
8 AnswersOther - Soccer7 years agoAqueduct Horse Betting?
Today i went to the new casino at the aqueduct race track. It's only the second time betting horses for me and I have a question regarding my bets (please only answer my question and don't give me an entire overview of horse betting as i am familiar with the trifectas, superfectas, box for these bets, etc.). The have a computer screen where you can place bets and there are separate options for
1)win
2)place
3)show
4)win-place
5)win-show-place...
I bet the 4th option (win-place) for the 6horse. The 6horse had 6-1 odds to win at the time. I bet 4 dollars and received 13.50 when the horse placed in second. I was a little confused at the screen but from my understanding I believe I should have just picked the place option because then i would win if the horse either won or placed (obviously at a lower payout than 6-1). I was wondering if the win-place (4th option) that I chose was supposed to be for 2 horses and if not, what is the difference between the option for place and the option for win-place. Thanks
