ICE FLOWERS
Ice flowers on my windowpane,
Winter flowers so delicate and lovely,
Looking so very wonderful,
Bringing me much delight.
Ice flowers like bouquets,
Brought to me like a winter’s wonder,
Perhaps from those I love,
Who are now in heaven above.
The only happiness,
In a frozen cold winter world,
That makes me smile with much joy,
Are ice flowers on my windowpane.
They don’t wilt and need no water,
But when the winter Sun comes shining,
My ice flowers begin to melt,
I watch them crying down my windowpane.
I reach out to touch the droplets,
Thinking perhaps they bring greetings,
Like so many glistening water pearls,
Leaving only memories of the ice flowers they were. :.:
