Trade descriptions help?
I am trying to rent a flat through Your Move Lettings and they have told me verbally that it costs £495pcm. I have been on the website of the company that are managing the property and they are advertising it at £425pcm. Really I'm looking for someone who knows something about trade descriptions - as the managing company have advertised in print for less than I have been verbally told, should they be renting to me for the lower price?
1 AnswerOther - Advertising & Marketing10 years agoWhy does my PC scan get stuck at a certain point?
When I request a full scan of my PC it always gets to 34% and then I have to manually skip a bunch of programs for it to continue. I have no idea what they are, just that they have a .cab extension. I'm using McAfee Total Protection (which incidentally is rubbish, lol).
3 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoHelp with scart connections?
If an HDD recorder has 21 points in the scart connector and my TV only has 20, will that mean I wouldn't get a decent picture/any picture at all on the TV?
1 AnswerOther - Electronics1 decade agoHelp with HDMI cables?
I recently bought a new LCD TV (Bush) but when I connected my Bush DVD/VCR combi player via scart lead there is an annoying green colouring to the screen and the picture is quite dark. It doesn't do it with my other DVD player but that one isn't very good anyway. I considered trying to connect an HDMI cable between the machines and seeing if that's better but I don't know anything about HDMI. Can anyone advise me on them please? I have tried a different scart with the machine but had the same problem.
4 AnswersTVs1 decade agoCan I report someone for illegal driving if I have their licence plate?
Saw a really bad and potentially dangerous driving manoeuvre today at the traffic lights, I got the car's licence plate registration, make and model but is there anywhere I can report it, like to the police? Don't traffic lights have cameras on them that would have seen it? Normally with bad driving it's a few choice words and forgotten, but this was unbelievably out of order and could have caused a serious accident. Serious responses only please, nobody is interested in stupid comments.
7 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoWhat was the song Katie Waissel was singing tonight?
I'm fairly sure 'oh sod it' isn't in the lyrics, but I was interested to know what song that actually was, since I'd never heard it before.
Oh.... TreyC was ROBBED!!!
1 AnswerSinging1 decade agoShould I accept my doctor's advice?
When I tell my doctor that my depression isn't getting any better, he always says the same thing - "Keep plugging away." That may be all well and good but it's not really helping. Is that an acceptable answer to give?
9 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoHow many songs can fit on a Nokia 3600 Slide?
I've just bought a Nokia 3600 Slide and was wondering roughly how many normal-length songs should be able to fit on the memory card for the music player? Anybody got one who can say what they've fit on theirs?
Thanks! :)
1 AnswerCell Phones & Plans1 decade agoWhat's the best and easiest way to cook a roast dinner for 3 people?
Please help me - I'm a very unconfident cook!
I've invited two friends over for Sunday roast at the end of the month (I'm in the UK btw) but I've never cooked a roast before and I'm worried that I'll mess up the timings trying to get meat, roasties and veggies ready at the same time. Can people please give me some pointers? Yes you are talking to a cook-idiot so I will need times to cook things and the best temperature to have the oven at.
Thanks for any help you can give me!

4 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoHow long before I can plug my fridge freezer in?
I just bought a secondhand Hotpoint fridge freezer and the guys in the shop said if you're lying it down in a vehicle it needs to stand up for 24 hours to settle the gas bottle before you can plug it in. That seems a bit excessive to me - does anyone know how long it should really be? I don't have a manual for it.
6 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoNeed help configuring and setting up Linksys wireless router?
Can someone please post a step by step (i.e. idiot's guide!) to configuring and setting up a Linksys wireless router on Vista-based laptop? I'd rather get it done myself than pay for someone to do it for me as I've just paid a fortune to fix my laptop! It's really the stuff that you have to type in when connected to the website via Ethernet that confuses me - thanks. xx
1 AnswerComputer Networking1 decade agoWhat gift can I buy for someone with a bad back?
A male friend of mine slipped a disc in his back and has been signed off work and is laid up not feeling too happy! I want to go in with some friends and buy him a present but don't know what to get him/what would be useful to someone who can't really move and is on morphine!
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
19 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoCan I talk to my doctor about depression or will he just tell me to see a counsellor?
I have suffered from clinical depression before and really feel like it may be recurring. I have a different doctor now from the one I had when I was diagnosed, but I don't know whether it'll just be a waste of his time if I go to see him about this.

4 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoDo you think the Revels Eviction is a waste of time?
In the past advertisements Mars have always made coffee out to be the horrible one. Then when you get a box of Quality Street (for example), most people always leave the coffee ones saying that they don't like them. That would therefore imply that it's a foregone conclusion that coffee will be the one to be evicted. So why all this money spent? Just get rid of the coffee one!!! It doesn't take a genius.
BTW - I do like coffee flavour, it just my least favourite of the Revels. Bring back the peanut one and make a separate peanut-less range for people with nut allergies!
2 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoIrritable Bowel Syndrome and 'jumping'?
I was just wondering if 'jump' spasms are a recognised symptom of irritable bowel syndrome. I quite often find that if my intestine is starting a spasm (like if you want to fart and you're holding it in), I'll have a single big spasm or twitch through most of my body. It probably looks quite odd to anyone watching. Does this happen to anyone else?
1 AnswerOther - Diseases1 decade agoDoes anyone else have a random weird eyelash?
I have two on my right eye that grow downwards instead of up and out... sometimes I even pluck them out but they always grow back. On the other eye I have a white eyelash! Just wondering if anyone else has anything similar... I feel like a freak! LOL

I have an American recipe for aduki bean casserole. It says I need 'one cup' of aduki beans in '3 cups' of water? How much does that equate to in ounces (or grams) and fluid ounces?
