Automotive technology as a hobby?
Here is a little about me:
I am a 17 year old, who is inevitably going to college to study something engineering (probably mechanical)
I absolutely love cars and have always dreamed of working on them, restoring a car, customizing a car, and doing body work on a car.
If I am going to a University to study, what are my options (not going to a full-time technical school) to learn my way around the automobile so that I can get this hobby off the ground?
Are there apprenticeships I could do?
Community Colleges? -> My local one doesnt offer any body shop/automotive tech...how unfortunate
And I don't have time for technical school..
Is there any literature that I could use to educate myself on the topic? I also want hands-on education though so I am not sure where to start...
Thanks for your help!

2 AnswersOther - Cars & Transportation9 years agoI need help selecting a novel for a research paper?
Things to know about me:
I am a tenth grader in an advanced class
I am unfortunately a slow reader, as I don't read a lot
I can become disinterested and may not read the book if it is REALLY boring, since I have quite a heavy workload already
All right enough about me,
I have a list of numerous books, but have condensed it down to a couple. I would be interested in a (shorter) book that has an interesting plot/compels the reader, not just some book that drags the reader and makes you feel like you have to read the book for an assignment. I want the book to be read from pleasure first, and then thought of as an assignment. Theme isn't as important, as long as it is interesting. I do enjoy books about espionage and government secrets and secret mission type things, so if you have any recommendations for me PLEASE do not hesitate, as I could as my teacher to let me read the book.
The list I have condensed here is:
1984-George Orwell
All Things Fall Apart--Achebe
Pride and Prejudice--Jane Austen
Emma--Jane Austen
Mansfield Park--Jane Austen
The Stranger--Albert Camus
Tale of Two Cities--Charles Dickens
Great Expectations--Charles Dickens
Crime and Punishment--Dostoevsky
Siddhartha--Hesse
Moby Dick--Herman Melville
All the Kings Men--Robert Penn Warren
The Chosen--Potok

2 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoREALLY easy Algebra 2 question....?
ok... I am having a dilemmna...
The question is f - g and f(x)= 7x^2 +5x, and g(x) is x^2 -13
Would I subtract them to be (7x^2+5x) - (x^2 -13) so the -13 becomes positive, or keep it negative like this: 7x^2 +5x - x^2 -13
