So last night I was downloading a game, and at some point in time, it stopped downloading, and went into the suspended state. It wouldn't begin downloading or even pause, so I restarted steam. It started with a Steam update screen, but nothing moved, and then that closed out and an error message pops up saying :

"Connection Error

Could not connect to the Steam network.

It appears that you are not currently connected to the internet, or that your internet connection is not configured correctly for Steam.

Either check your connection and click 'Retry', or start Steam in 'Offline Mode'."

At the bottom there is three buttons: Retry Connection, Start in Offline Mode, and Quit.

Retry connection flashes an error message then crashes.

Start in offline mode gives me the error:

"Could not connect to Steam network. This could be due to a problem with your internet connection or with the Steam network. Please visit www.steampowered.com for more info."

And behind that window is a error message saying:

"This operation cannot be completed when Steam is in Offline Mode."

Quit gives me the same error as offline mode.

My connection is fine. I am able to connect to the Steam store in my web browser. Steam just randomly decided to crap itself and refuses to change its pants. I've tried rebooting my modem and PC, port forwarding, deleting the contents of the Steam folder (which gave me an error stating that I have no internet connection), and lo and behold, I stll have the problem. Is there any fix to this, or is there a problem with the Steam servers?

I recently bought a Taurus used. The previous owner said that the speedometer quit working while on the freeway, I figured that it was a faulty VSS and an easy fix. I bought a new one, installed it, didn't work. I pulled apart the instrument panel to see if there was anything disconnected or anything else that could be a problem. Nothing. What could be causing this?

I'm pretty sure that it's Romantic period, but it may be classical. I've only heard the first 15 seconds or so. I think it's in B flat major

It starts out with soft, low woodwinds and brass playing the melody. Timpanis are in the background and gradually get louder until they are beating them viciously. Then it's only the strings (no violins) playing a kind of dark melody that is balanced by the low woodwinds harmonizing as the strings sustain longer notes. That's all I know.

I own a hard copy (DVD) of Company of Heroes: Anthology (the one with both Add-ons). I know that I can play it without the DVD on my own computer, because I have the account and stuff, but how can I crack it so I can put it on a flash drive, copy it to a couple of computers and play multiplayer on it?

I'm fed up with iTunes. I can't even plug in my iPod without it freezing up and corrupting all of my data.

so for a while, my iPod has not been able to sync. I can still access the music on it. I refuse to use iTunes unless it is completely necessary (to restore at the most), I'm using Sharepod. The help on that instructed me to have Windows search for and repair disk errors, but it hasn't made a difference. So I'm wondering if I format my iPod, can I still use it, or will I have to restore it with iTunes.

I would like to start off by saying that I am an American.

But think about it. The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Led Zeppelin, Queen, the list goes on. Not to say that America hasn't produced any great bands/artists. In fact, it was in America in the '50s that really spawned all of this. But it just seems that Britain has had more greats.

For example, I like The Beatles, but I do think that they are overrated.

Because honestly, it's wide open at this point. Three teams are tied, and one team is one game behind.

I'm not sure if the Chargers are just sucking or if they're just playing good teams. KC just got blown out by one of the NFL's worst. Denver is looking good after that win against Oakland, though we still have to see if they can duplicate that performance. Oakland has been slipping after a shutout against KC and being beaten at home against Denver.

Who do you think will take the division?

Also, what kind of collar is best?

Personally, I have more respect and am more impressed by someone who plays an instrument very well as opposed to someone with a very good singing voice. There are two reasons for this:

One: It generally takes much more practice to become a skilled instrumentalist rather than a singer, who's talent is often dependent on a lot of things completely out of there control.

Two: I play an instrument, but don't sing. So a little bit of bias.

These haven't happened in a very long time.

As a child of 5 to I think 7, I had this weird dream that happened a ridiculous amount of times. What would happen was that me and one or two members of my immediate family were standing straight up in a space with nothing but white and a flowing river maybe eight feet across. My family would stand there like a statue in the river as it carried them to the end in which an endless waterfall was. I would do the same, but struggle to no avail, I would fall, and the dream would end. I remember one instance where I fought back against the flow, and climbed onto some small underwater rocks and sat on them as I watched the family member fall as I cried out to him/her. The river seemed to be a mix of the irrigation canal next to my house and the Snake River in the city I live in.

I was never frightened or troubled by these dreams. They just happened, and then just stopped.

This is not the saving problem. The cartridge doesn't start up. I've blown in the socket, I've used it in two original gameboys, a Super Gameboy, and a Gameboy Advance SP. When I move the cartridge around, it sounds like there is something loose in it. When I pop it in the either of the gameboys (including the Advance SP), it shows the messed up Nintendo Logo. So, how can I fix this?

Do you think that any modern bands will become one of the best ever? There are some good bands, but none of them seem to be near as good as guys like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, you know, the guys who are considered the best.

Whenever I run the program, the MS-DOS looking window flashes on screen for half of a second, and then vanishes. There are no build errors, and the exact same thing has happened with two different compilers (Microsoft Visual Basic and Dev-C++). What can I do to prevent this?

This has always bothered me. When you are using a band name such as Iron Maiden, and you are describing them, would you use is, or are?

Example: Iron Maiden (is/are) awesome.

Which one? I have seen are used several times, but it doesn't sound right, because it is a singular noun, though it is referring to a group of people. Also, could it have to do with where the writer is (US as opposed to the UK)?

Like the late '70s heavy metal pioneers. If you look at almost every modern metal band (and a lot of guys like Metallica), you'll see that Iron Maiden was a big influence. So what do you think metal would be like were it not for these two pioneers of Heavy Metal?
