  • How do we keep our 18 month old from stripping & peeing in bed at night?

Our daughter takes her pajamas & diaper off at some point every night, and pees in the bed. This happens every night. We have tried restricting her to zippered footed pajamas as they seemed the only ones that she could not get off, but she proved us wrong!

Is this just a phase? Does it mean something else?

  • How to get out of fetal pig dissection in an online anatomy class- vegetarian?

I am taking an online anatomy class through my school. I had to order a special lab kit. My lab kit arrived today. It contained a sheep eye, sheep brain, and a fetal pig. I had a feeling these items would be coming. First, I have no idea where I am supposed to store this items until I use them in class. The more pressing issue however is that I am a vegetarian and do not support the meat industry. I'm having a hard time rationalizing how I am going to dissect the thing. Do you think my professor would accept that I follow a plant based diet and give me an alternate assignment? Does anyone have any experience with this situation? The reason I am having a hard time with it is because the class is online and my professor is located in a different city, so I will never meet her.

  • why do people feel the need to feed my daughter everything in site?

does anyone else have a problem with friends and family, or complete strangers trying to feed your child anything in site? for instance, "can she have a chip?" umm no.. she just ate, and she is not allowed to have chips. this happens multiple times, on a daily basis. how do i deal with these people in a non-rude manner? it is even more a problem as we are vegetarian, transitioning to vegan. how do i inform them of our transition to vegan?

  • what's a good first food for baby, besides rice cereal?

my 4.5 month old daughter appears to be REALLY interested in food. she will go into a trance staring at your food and will follow your spoon back and forth. we tried rice cereal and she will open her mouth for the spoon and grab at it and everything. and then comes the bite. i'm not sure she is really interested in the taste of it or isn't sure about the texture or what. but she will try every bite and make the ugliest face and manage to spit it out, but she always wants more. what is a good first food for baby that is easy to digest, etc etc?

  • need christmas present ideas for a 7 month old?!?

i am looking to start purchasing a few gifts for my daughter who will be 7 months old come holiday time.

we are not interested in toys that require batteries, or really any plastic toys for that matter (unless they are specifically bpa, lead, and pvc free). we love wooden toys and cloth toys. quality of the toy matters over quantity of toys. any suggestions?

  • indigestion so bad it makes you stay home from work?

several years ago i had chest pains so intense that i literally could not eat anything. i went to the emergency room & they tried to put an IV in. they couldn't get one in, so they just gave up and told me that i had acid reflux.

i have suffered from some pretty intense acid reflux since then. however, about a year ago i had stomach pains so intense that i couldn't even stand. i took some gas x after several days and that seemed to relieve the pain. until now..

this time i have almost identical stomach pains, but they are accompanied with chills & body fatigue. my grandmother has a hiatal hernia and someone told me they run in families. could there be an underlying condition besides indigestion? thanks for any input.

  • red, dry patches on 3 month old legs?

my daughter is almost 3 months. for the past week or so i have noticed these pink to red colored dry patches on her legs. i've seen maybe one on her arm as well. she does not appeared to be bothered by them all. do you think this is just dry skin? or maybe something in my diet (i'm breastfeeding) that is bothering her? or nothing at all? just checking to see what everyone else thought.. thanks for input!

  • unique gifts for baby showers?

i want to get the expecting couple something that is not unique as in something that is not useful, but something that you can't find at just any old target. i want it to be useable. i do not want to give clothes. i received way way way too many clothes at my shower and don't want to do the same to them (even though i was very grateful). any ideas? oh, and i will have to be mailing this package cross country, so preferably not something massive that will cost an arm and a leg in shipping. all ideas welcome!

  • 2 month old immunizations- sudden high pitched screaming?

my daughter got her 2 month old shots on monday (it is now thursday). the first couple days she was extremely fussy. we gave her some infant drops & that seemed to help. now she cries everytime you seem to put her down. she has also started with this high pitched screaming, which she hasn't ever done before. could this be a reaction to one of the vaccines?
