  • Does my PC have to be on for my PS3 to connect to the Internet?

O.k. I have a Zoom ADSL modem/wi-fi router combo unit plugged into my laptop PC. I also have a PS3 that I have been trying to get connected to the Internet for 6 months with no success. I have tried both wired and wireless connections with limited success. The PS3 will usually pass a connection test but then fail connecting to the Playstation Network and will always get stuck/time out when downloading updates.

Does my PC have to be turned on and connected to the Internet in order for my PS3 to connect to the web?

It shouldn't be this difficult to set up a home network. I was told the PS3 was easy to set up and was basically a second computer. My friend has one and says he never has problems. He has a desktop PC whereas I have a laptop PC with a wired connection into the aforementioned modem/router.

    Any advice?

  • When whites become a minority in 2050?

When whites become a minority in the U.S. in around 2050, will we benefit from all of the pro-minority legislation that has helped non-whites over the past fifty years?

  • Americans selling our military secrets to China?

A top Pentagon employee has been indicted for giving top secret info to a foreign contact known to be working with China. Others already brought to trial were only given a few years in jail and a big fine.

Why do we tolerate such light sentences for traitors?

Shouldn't we just execute them with a bullet to the back of the head?

And shouldn't we send our special ops out to assassinate those foreign contacts and use Russian-made equipment so they get blamed for it?

Seems to me to be a good plan.

  • What are your thoughts on the Democrat's 401(k) plan?

There are fear-mongering media outlets saying that Democrats want to take away our tax breaks on our 401(k) accounts and force those of us who work hard and save for our retirement to pay an extra 5% of our gross income in addition to the 7% we already pay into Social Security to fund retirements for the poor and irresponsible.

And then there are a scant few media outlets that say Democrats merely want to give workers an option of how to save, but force them to save for retirement nonetheless.

What are your thoughts on the subject? Do you support this Democratic (socialistic) plan and why/why not?

Here are some of the links on the subject (for both sides of the story):

  • Collection of old video game systems & games?

I have a collection of old video game systems and video games that I want to sell but want to get the best deal possible.

Should I sell them individually or in a bulk purchase?

What would be a fair price for such a historic collection spanning twenty-plus years?

I have the following game systems and a handful of games for each (all are in good to fair condition):

    Intellivision - about twenty games

Nintendo Entertainment System - about ten games

Super NES - about five games

Playstation 1 (slim) - about twenty games

Playstation 2 (slim with network card) - about twenty games

  • Two questions about the "global" financial crisis?

Are there any countries benefiting from the financial crisis in the West, like maybe Iran or some other nation we have strong political disagreement with?

Also, I've heard that when the economy gets bad, certain industries see a boom, like college education and re-training schools. Do you know what the historic trend has been for this over the past few decades? Please provide percentages or a link to a graph.

  • Why shouldn't the U.S. establish orbital space weapons?

Why shouldn't the most advanced military state on Earth establish it's dominance in space by placing into orbit military weapon system satellites like the "Rods of God" satellite proposed in 2007 so we can strike and destroy enemies anywhere in the world, at any time we so choose? Don't we deserve to exercise our ability to destroy our enemies with a mere flick of our hand? Shouldn't we destroy the technological capabilities of all enemy states so they can never rise up against the established order?
