  • What to burn in campsite that doesn't allow wood burning?

I'll be going to Malibu Creek State Park in Southern California two weeks from now. I guess State Parks don't allow wood burning anymore due to tree killing insects/diseases. On the reservations, it says no wood burning, but on the website, it says you can only use wood that was bought within 50 miles(closer the better) from the campsite. I called to ask the park rangers if I can use duraflame logs, and she says "isn't that made of wood? if it is then no you can't use it." Yelp reviews says you can only use duraflame logs and charcoal. One of the park ranger was being a d-bag and made someone put out the fire when he saw wood burning and didn't matter where it was bought. Would park rangers make me put out the fire for burning kingsford mesquite charcoal(technically there are pieces of wood in there lol). Any advice on what I can burn that'll last long? I was thinking of putting a piece of oak wood and hide it by burying it underneath charcoal so the fire pit stays hot. If you know any information for California State Parks, it'll be a ton of help.

  • Possibily towed someones car on accident?

Sign says Tenants parking only followed by a code that says C.v.c 22658.

Long story short, My brother owns a restaurant and towed a person's car away due to various reasons.

The car owner comes into the restaurant the next morning asking why his car was towed when the signs clearly says parking for tenants only. Tow away and paid by owners expenses. He comes in here and first he says car broke down, second he says he only parked there for 30min, third he says that he works in the plaza.

A week later, someone who owns a shop in the plaza comes into the restaurant saying we wrongfully towed their employee car away. I don't know how that guy convinced someone to back him up with his story. My brother says well, all I need is proof that he's an employee in this plaza then I don't have a problem with paying the tow fees.

The so-called owner says no problem and brings back a check. A check that she claims that is his paycheck, but it's just a regular check that people can write to pay their bills. LOL. My brother says anybody can write this check. That still doesn't prove that he works in this plaza. The so-called owner all of a sudden claims she's just a worker and the real owner is on vacation(even if she's just a worker, she doesn't have the right to sign for anyone's checks). My brother says well, I can wait for the owner to come talk to me, but like I told you and the car owner that all I need was proof that he works here like an employee check with the business address on there and his ID card that matches his name then I don't have a problem with paying him back.

We know he doesn't work at this plaza because it wouldn't have taken him more than a week to get us proof. If he does work in this plaza, he is probably getting paid under- the-table which is undocumented as well. Is there a way for the owner to help the guy make a fake check stating that he works in this plaza like asking their accountant to make a fake check?

  • Subaru Crosstrek or Subaru Impreza Wagon?

I live in Los Angeles, CA and I go snowboarding a few times a year. Supposedly, subarus are built to last more than 200k miles? Anyways, Subarus crosstrek is the newest car and I think it looks pretty cool, sporty and SUV like. Impreza wagon saves more gas and it's cheaper. I plan on getting an automatic because MPG is higher. I've heard since it's AWD, it's meant to be manual? So I'm not sure if that's true or not. Subarus are all computized nowadays so it shouldn't be a problem right? I'm not sure what car I should get. The Crosstrek is TOO new so I'm not sure if I want to trust it. So what are your opinions? My mind is more towards Impreza though.

  • Will Geek Squad cover my phone?

I accidentally bricked my phone trying to flash a rom so now it is a hardware malfunction where the motherboard has to be replaced. Everything will be erased so there will be no way of finding out. Anyways, if I buy a new phone on ebay, get the 2yr warranty plan from Geek Squad, can I use that warranty to fix my bricked phone?

  • Trying to sell my restaurant, but landlord won't let?

So my mom owns a restaurant. We want to sell the restaurant because we're losing profit. My mom posted the restaurant up for sale on newspapers and we have a few people who are interested.

First person, the person had 100k cash and is ready to buy, but the landlord said since he/she didn't have enough credit, he can't lease it to him/her.

Second person, the person has credit to buy the restaurant, but the landlord said since he/she didn't have enough money in their bank account, he can't lease it to him/her.

Third person, the person has two businesses, has the money, but the landlord said since he didn't own a house, he can't lease it to him.

Fourth person, the person has a house, a few businesses, and money, but the landlord asked him/her for $500 to run a credit check and the person refused because it wasn't a for sure thing that he/she is going to be able to buy the restaurant. It's understandable to not want to put out that $500.

What is going on here? Is the landlord trying to scam us? Do I need to hire a lawyer to help us get out of the lease because he makes up so many different excuses. What's next? We can't sell it because the next person doesn't own a dog?? It's ridiculous! Any advice would help. Thank you.

  • Should I pay for the motorcycle sticker renewal fee?

I'm planning to buy a motorcycle(2009 Ninja Kawasaki 250cc with 1k miles) from a private party( Craigslist) for $3900. The sticker on their bike says it's up to date(July 2012) which means that I'm going to end up paying for the renewal sticker in about 2 months. Should I be the one paying for the renewal? or Should he pay for it before selling it? I would have to pay for the transfers, registration, and all those fees because I'm from California. I was wondering how much would it all cost? An estimate would help.

  • Is water base polyurethane waterproof?

I live in California and stores have banned oil based polyurethane. I've built a dining room table and used polyshade and I want to finish it up with satin polyurethane for extra protection. The dining room table would be used quite frequently and I want to avoid water marks without using coaster. I want to know if water base polyurethane would be waterproof enough to avoid using coasters? Would I have to apply 10 coats for it to be super water resistance?

  • Can I build a picnic table with pressure treated wood?

I bought pressure treated wood at home depot. I waited for a day to dry, but it was still damp. I want to build a picnic table, but for indoor use. I am thinking about returning the wood and buying something else like the very cheap 2.99 for 2x4x8 wood, but those are considered as "green wood" which has water inside as well. I don't know what to do, are there any wood that would not warp and isn't so expensive. Any recommendations on wood for a picnic table that is used indoors that I can find at home depot.

  • Parking Citation After Service hours?

A few days ago, I received a parking citation for parking on the handicap area. I parked in UC Riverside, parking services is from 7am to 10pm. There was no parking so I decided to park on the handicap because I figure that they cannot give me a citation for parking, since it was a little bit passed 11pm when I parked there. I came out at 1am and i received a 325 parking fine. Is there any way where I can fight it?

  • what is going on with my dog's hearing?

I just got a dog, he is only 2 months old. My friends and I have been noticing that the dog is not responsive when it comes to whistling. I am starting to worry that he might be deaf. When he is asleep, I whistle as loud as I can to see if he wakes up, but he doesn't, but right when I played a dog barking sound, he woke up. When he was awake, I decided to whistle and call him name and still no response, I played the same dog barking sound and still no response from him. My brother decided to whistle as loud as he can and the dog looked at him, but when I blew the dog whistle, the dog did not go crazy, he did not respond at all. I am not sure what is wrong with him. Sometimes I think he's deaf and sometimes I don't, is there a possibility that he is just too young to respond to noises? Or his ears are clogged? Any solution or tips besides going to the vet

  • will i be able to win this court trial for a speeding ticket?

i was traveling at about 80mph on a 65mph freeway. i was on the fast lanes. i saw a highway patrol in front so i slowed down and still passed him while traveling at 70mph because he was going about 50mph on the slow lanes. it was about 8:10pm, there was a bit of traffic, there was no way for me to be traveling 80mph when all the cars were driving at 50mph then i saw him pull up behind my car and i was traveling at about 50mph so i switched lanes because i dislike cops being behind me. then the cop cuts off the car in back of me and i changed lanes again and he cuts off the other car then he finally turned on his lights. he pulled me over saying that i was going 80mph 4 miles ago and i admit that i was traveling at 80mph but when he matched my speed, i was only going 50mph, we were all stuck on bumper to bumper traffic. i assume that he just saw me pass by a lot of cars but did not check my speed limit by trying to match my speed. i had no witnesses with me. i was wondering if i am able to fight and win this speeding ticket. it's my first ticket, i believe the cops did not have any rights to pull me over just because he saw me speeding at 80mph 4 miles ago.
