  • 3 year old Staffy cross keeps running off?

I have had her since she was 9 weeks old from a rescue centre (I was her 4th home) she has been through a lot of change in the last 9 months, older dog passed away, 5 months as a lone dog. June new arrival 9 week old pup all well. It's only in the last week or 2 tat she has started to run off when she goes on a walk that she has been on before.Yesterday she was gone for over an hour in woodland that we have been walking in for 4 walks...She just goes like a rocket and that's was that for an hour and 20 minuets. Came back exhausted and could barely walk back to the car!

She is OK on a walk that we have not done before and trots off but comes back to "check" me The Pup (now 6 months old) is still to young to run with so I am completely at a loss as to what to do next. We are running out of different walks and keeping her on a lead the whole time really sucks.....HELP please

  • Anyone else very concerned about beginners lack of knowledge

It is frightening me the number of obvious beginners asking questions on how to.....break a youngster...begin lunging and generally starting young stock.

    What are we to do?

I have looked into the welfare of horses/ponies but can't find anything.

    Anyone know of anything?

I realise we all have to start somewhere.

Is there a law somewhere that states we should have a minimum knowledge requirment of equine care before we can perchase one?
