Is a garden a selling point or a deterrent for selling a house?
I have a garden in my back yard and in the last two years my wife and I could not give it the time it needed and both years it was overtaken by weeds. Now I want to get rid of the garden and extend the lawn to that area. My wife wants to try again stating that it is a good selling point if we ever decide to sell the house in the near future (which at times was/is a possibility).
I want to know if gardens in general are something that homebuyers look for or if they act as a deterrent for those who don’t have time for a garden either?
4 AnswersRenting & Real Estate9 years agohow to keep bird bath free of algae?
So I bought a nice colorful glass birdbath last year and within a few weeks it was covered in algae. Is there a home remedy or product that will prevent algae growth with out being dangerous to birds?
4 AnswersGarden & Landscape9 years agoHow do I get the white stuff off my aquarium canopy?
I don’t know that white stuff is but I have tried CLR and other build up removers cannot get the glass clean. So I all I know is for sure is that it is not calcium or lime.
1 AnswerFish9 years agoSponge Filter Vs Hanging Filter?
I currently have a 55 US gallon tank, with 20ish assorted tetras, mostly neons. I have 2 hanging filters on the tank(Used to be a cichlid tank) and i am considering switching to a pair of Sponge filters. My reasoning is because have lost ~10 tetras to the hanging filters intake. Please provide me your thoughts.
PS. here is a vid of my other tank, its a 150 planted community tank. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zT2an1UD0c

4 AnswersHome Theater9 years agoAquarium light doesn't turn on all the time?
I have a HO T5 nova extreme light for my tank and it doesn't always turn on when I flip the switch. It seems like I have to flip the switch, wait ~10 seconds and if it doesn't turn on I flip the switch off and on again and then it seems to work. I have the light on a timer for my planted tank and it is frustrating when I come home from work and the light hasn't been on all day. Outside of getting a new light what are my options of fixing the light?
4 AnswersFish9 years agoWhat can I put with my Spotted African Leaf Fish?
I have 2 Spotted African Leaf Fish ~5" long in a 150 gallon planted tank. I bought them when they were about 1-2” long. With time they have grown and their diet turned to eating all my gold/black/neon tetras about 2 months ago and now I am looking for some better tank mates that won’t end up as food. They haven't bothered any of my bottom feeders yet. From what I hear is they wont go after bottom feeders, but I'm not convinced. I really like these guys and am considering getting a few more, but that is only if I can find tank mates that they won’t eat.
Currently in my 150 gallon planted tank I have
8 large Buenos Aires Tetras
1 Gold Gourami
2 Pearl Gourami
3 Amazon Rainbow tetras (I think that’s their name)
3 Emperor Tetras
1 Rainbow Shark
1 Angel
6 large Serpe Tetras
5-10 assorted danios that are slowly "disappearing"
2 Cory Cats
1 Golden Algae eater
1 Clown loach-planning on getting more of these
2 Botias
1 Leporinus fasciatus
Thanks

2 AnswersFish1 decade agoCan somebody explain the Renewable Fuel Standard(RFS)?
I have been to the EPA's website, and a bunch others. I understand that they set levels that must be met, but i don't know how those national levels that they set affect the individual ethanol producer. I am a graduate student, I've been doing the research it just seems like i am missing the step from what the levels are, to how they are implemented.
Thanks
