I just wanted to let every proud labor union worker (excluding workers forced into join in non right to work states) know that you are a little 3itch who cant accept market forces for your wages. my timing chain broke recently and i know that this can bend valves. i have alot of stuff removed from under the hood and i dont want to have to take it all back off when i find out i have bad compression. so if you know if its even possible that the pistons can bend valves on this engine, please let me know

why does my truck make a noise when im moving and push in the clutch or slow down, also once the truck is warmed up it makes the noise at idle. the noise is sporadic (not constant ticking). it sounds like a clanking noise. when i looked at it i couldn't see the exhaust pipe or anything vibrating and making contact with anything. i also checked the tightness of the starter.

i think it might be loose flywheel bolts. your opinion would be great.

it is the overdrive transmission for more info, and it seems to have why to high of a first gear. the speedometer doesn't work so I don't know exactly how fast it goes in first gear, but from my experience with manuals tells me it is way to high. if someone could tell me why it is like this and how to fix it that would be great. also, I never need to go in overdrive, because the third gear is interstate fast.

sometimes my truck will go in this low power mode and goes like 10mph max. its really annoying and I have to turn it on and off several times to fix it. I did a code read but nothing important came up. any ideas what this is?

I have a 1984 f150 with the original everything. no aftermarket crap. it is a manual transmission, original gas engine, straight 6, 5.0lt. im just wonder what type of engine it is, like 351 Cleveland or Detroit something. I just want to know. if you need more info on the truck to be specific on the engine name I will add in additional details.
