Breeding a AKC registered dog, to a non-registered dog.?
We have a AKC registered full blooded female rotweiller, we want to breed her later on down the road and are looking for a stud, we know a breeder who has full blooded rots as well, the thing is, the mother is registered while the father is not. How would this effect us breeding with the whole registration thing? You can tell all his puppies are full blooded, but he just never got the male registered. I want to get a male from him just because of there size when they reach adulthood, I'm just curious to know if I can still call them, full blooded, or get me registered, I'm not into the breeding for the money, just merely because I've always wanted to breed rots. I just don't want to cross any lines of "paperwork" I'm still learning how the whole registration and paperworks actually works.
12 AnswersDogs8 years agoRespiratory infections in Ball pythons?
The newer ball python we acquired seemed fine, but two days after bringing him home he began to have mucous inside his mouth. I quarantined immediately after seeing this and.made him a Vet appointment. We took him to the vet yesterday, a certified Reptile Vet.... (only one within 50 miles) she examined him and said she saw no signs of infection inside his trachea, even with the mucous spewing out of his mouth, and gave us some cat mouth wash to use on him.. She said though the only thing she could think of was dehydration, And then afterwards muttered, "or the infection Is beginning.." I've never had a single snake with a respiratory infection so I basically know nothing, and all my research just points to an infection. Can my snake really be dehydrated? Any personal experiences with this matter will also be helpful. And before I forget, yes the snakes humidity has been extremely low. Between 10-20% we are going through a dispute with the gas company And have well no gas..... so as an emergency resort I uped our snakes bulbs for a few days until we could get heating pads. Now the humidity levels are correct
2 AnswersReptiles10 years agoHow long is your burmese python how heavy?
The title should say it all, I want to know from Burmese owners how large your snakes are. I don't care much for facts, I want personal accounts, I didn't up and buy the snake on impulse or anything. I just want to know from owners how large yours are.
3 AnswersReptiles10 years agoKeeping a ball python at a set weight.?
No one read my question last time.. I don't need snake advice, I don't need care advice, or how to feed It, I know all that, I've been taking of snakes for almost 5 years. I just never bred them. I'm attempting breeding this season, and I obtained a male pastel, what I want to know is, feeding every 2 weeks, what should I feed It. The snake is right now 514 grams. 42 inches long, and about 1.5 inches across. What type should it be fed? Medium, small, pinky, that kinda answer, I would love if a breeder with experience would answer though.
4 AnswersReptiles10 years agoWhat to feed a breeder male Ball Python.?
We have now a breeder Pastel ball python we picked up at the NARBC show in Tinley Park. My fiancée was in a hurry, so I didn't get a chance to ask the seller Why he fed it every two weeks... he keeps his males at 500-520 grams. What kind of mouse or rat would I have to feed a male to keep him this weight? He's about 42 inches long.

3 AnswersCats10 years agoAggressive Ball Python biting help?
I recently saved a ball python from a pet store. And yes I say saved... I can't even begin to say how bad the conditions were... she was marked for $100 but I got him for 50.. she IA between 2 and 4 years old, and was raised by someone who once held her constantly, but as time went He got.more animals an began to ignore her, then he put a male in the cage, got.her.to.lay eggs, and he assumes she ate them but it IA unknown. I know It seems like a lot of info that IA not needed but I want every fact forward. So to.begin... she seems to hate women. She snaps at MT fiancée but only at me when I'm above the cage. The pet store owner was a blonde woman and horrible, as soon as I got her out She snapped at her like 8 times non-stpp before laying back on my hand. My biggest question is here... how to.get How to be nice again, our younger ball python is nice as.can be, if you your hand in her cage. She'll come to you, the older one we saved coils up And lunges. Snakes seem to love me, out of the hundred I've held, only the three at the pet store attacked me
Does anyone have any advice? I've been told just hold her and she'll come around
As for her cage... we had to put her in a 45 gallon until we get some extra money for a larger Catherine, bit the cage IA still twice the size Or the one she was once in
She has a large bowl, and a place to.hid, we will be getting her on Thursday, as said before, though I rambled. :p does anyone have any advice? And as a last note, we've only had her for two days, and our other ball, for about a week. Bur as said, our younger acts like she has known us all her life.
