Help with Christian values?
Carrie Prejean is being touted as a paragon of Christian values. She stood up and told her beliefs, and even says that God was specifically testing her and that she passed. Good for her.
My problem is that I don't understand what Christian value lying on her entry forms to the Miss California contest represents. Keep in mind that she had never denied that she intentionally lied, nor that she was ashamed of the activity she lied about. She calls it a mistake of youth herself.
Is the value that no matter what anyone does we should excuse them for it? Is the value that it's okay to lie to get what you want in the world, as long as it's not lying about religion? I want to be just like Carrie Prejean, so I need to know when I should be lying and when I shouldn't be. Thanks!
