Rabbit has babies out of nest box?
I have an older doe, she's about 6 years old. I've been breeding her for about a year and a half. On several occasions she has her babies outside of the nest box. Whenever this happens, she waits until the last minute to pull fur, by thus time, there is no nest to add the fir to (she just won't build one). Why is she doing this? Could it be her age or something else? I'm not looking for a philosophical debate on the cruelty of raising rabbits, no amount of convincing will stop me from doing this, I like rabbit meat too much. I'm just a rabbit breeder seeking council from fellow enthusiasts.
3 AnswersOther - Pets9 years agocan you camp in game management units?
Ok, so I've heard of a place to go hunting for hogs, and I'm trying to get a hunting trip put together... only problem is I don't know where to camp. The GMU is a mixture of national forest land and BLM land. So, I'm pretty sure that you can hunt and camp on BLM land, but I don't know about national forest land. Does anyone have some info that would help me out?
3 AnswersHunting10 years agoHunting rifle suggestions?
Ok, so i'm new to "big game" hunting and I need a rifle. I decided on getting something in a 30-06. I know that I want a bolt action, but beyond that, I'm open to suggestion. there are some considerations to be had. first off, I'll be hunting deer and hogs mostly. that being said, I want to be able to reach out to 300 yards or so. the second consideration is of course price. My limit is $450. as for furniture, i'm not really picky. Something with a remove able mag is preferred. I was thinking about a Remington 770, but i figure i'd ask first. And also, is there a semi auto rifle out there that would match these considerations,? just out of curiosity.
10 AnswersHunting10 years agowhich ammo is cheaper, 30-06 or .270?
So, I'm in the market for an actual hunting rifle instead of my trusty k-31. I have decided to get either get something in a .270 or a 30-06. I know that the .270 is a flatter shooting cartridge, but for some reason, the 30-06 seems like it would be less expensive to shoot, and it can be loaded with heavier grain bullets. So, what do you think?
11 AnswersHunting10 years agoIs rabbit jerky dangerous?
Ok, I started raising rabbits a few months ago, and it's time to butcher my first crop. I wanted to make rabbit jerky out of some of them, but I recently heard that they carry the same kind of diseases that pork does, and when you dry it out, the bacteria stays alive. I really don't believe this, but maybe someone has an outside opinion? I'm going to use a brine to cure the meat in, would that take the danger part out of it? Thanks a bunch.
3 AnswersOther - Food & Drink10 years agoHow are you supposed to answer those pre-employment "personality" tests?
So I'm applying for jobs like a madman. It seems like most of the times I inquire in person, They tell me to apply online. I fill out the online applications and at the end of them, I am forced to take a pre- employment "personality test". Every time i take them, I'm somehow flagged and rejected. I'm not maladjusted, dangerous, or unstable. I'm just honest. So I'm asking YOU, my Yahoo Answers comrades, How am I supposed to answer those questionnaires? Do I try to lie and make myself an overly energetic, and over friendly eunuch? or do I keep telling the truth and just get lucky? Does anyone know hot to BS their way though these things?
4 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoWould you call this a farm?, Hobby farm, Backyard farm, not a farm at all, or something else?
I came into this after the death of my father in law. He had about an acre and a half of land which his house, barn, and garage / workshop sits on. this property used to have access to an alfalfa field about 7 acres in size, but the family is building on it now. We get hay from another field about 20 miles away, that field is divided up among family members, but will not be developed due to family politics. on the acre and a half, we have seven goats, five geese, and over 150 chickens during the breeding season (we usually sell about 75% as chicks or young birds, and retain the rest for meat and breeding). we also sell goats, geese, and eggs. What would you call this operation? is it a farm? I am having an identity crisis about what to call this? Thanks for reading.
3 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoDo pekin ducks make good mothers to their young?
I am looking into getting some pekin ducks, And I was wondering if they make good mothers naturally. I don't want to have to incubate eggs every year to propagate them... In my area, chickens are a hot Item, and I already hatch chickens out of my incubator. We have a creek for them to use for breeding, but are they good at looking after their young? What are your experiences with these ducks?

4 AnswersBirds1 decade agoMy garlic has started growing too early?
I planted garlic in late october here in the southwest. It has started growing, meaning there are shoots coming up. Is this a bad thing? We have just started to get freezing weather now, will they go dormant for the winter or will they try to grow and die off?
6 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoIs it good to stress pepper plants to get hotter peppers?
I read somewhere that if you either flood the plant or allow it to wilt slightly, the heat level of the peppers rises. is this true? If so, is there an ideal way to stress the plants?
4 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoDo you think Society is getting weak?
Most of us live an existence of safety, hollowness, instant gratification, few consequences, and ease. The result, some people say, is that we as a society are getting weak. For an example, when a lawn needs to be mowed, it isn't uncommon for a lawn service to be called. In the old days, you either payed the kid down the street to do it, or did it yourself. I have actually known someone who payed to have their lawn mowed while they worked out on a treadmill! How pathetic! instead of getting something done outside while getting exercise, she chose to stay indoors and work out.
It seems that we are always relying on someone else to do every thing for us. This is making society weak. with our Ipod, we listen to only what we choose, even walking down the street. In short, we are becoming helpless when faced with problems we ourselves must deal with, spoiled, lazy, and antisocial... weak as a society. Do you agree or disagree?

3 AnswersChevrolet1 decade agoHow long will it take for my garlic to germinate?
Ok, so I wanted to plant garlic this fall for the spring. The supplier of garlic seed bulbs has not been good about making them available. If I had waited longer, the garlic would be too late to plant. I was at a local fruit and veg store yesterday, and decided to give it a shot with the garlic they had. It's an asian variety, It came from China, I think. When do you think It will sprout? Will it sprout? What are your thoughts? Do you think the bulbs have been treated with an anti sprouting agent?
5 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoWill I be able to re-seed my Thai dragon peppers from the plants I grow?
I am planting a garden next year. In it, I will have Thai dragon peppers, Pumpkins, and other types of things. The question is whether I will be able to re plant a garden the following year from the seeds collected from the initial plants. The seeds are non treated, organic. I know that most commercial seeds are sterile, meaning that their offspring won't have viable seeds. Do pumpkin and pepper seed producers do this as well?
