  • Why is it called a "blood puddin" tattoo?

After watching a recent episode of Best Ink, I was curious why judge Joe Capobianco named his style of tattoo "blood puddin". They didn't really explain much about it in the show except to tell us what the characteristics if the style were. It just made me curious & since then I've been doing searches trying to find some info but keep getting links to his books. Unfortunately I probably will never read those books, it's not my style. Anyways, I thought someone here might know, does the name blood puddin have a significance for Joe's style beyond the characteristics of this style? ty for any help you can shed in this curiosity

  • How can I help my rescued cat?

when my husband & I moved, we rescued a cat we named Marko, from our old apt. He gets along with our two cats great, but the poor thing is super skittish. He's afraid of my husband (who is very tall, 6'2") & does what I call "nervous shitting" (where he poops over and over in the litter box, with random diarrhea, only when he gets skittish tho). How can I help him feel more at ease. He has these moments when he relaxes, he comes to me & becomes a very loving lap cat, wanting his belly rubbed, sleeping with my arm around him for hours. Next thing I know, he has moments where everything freaks him out. Being disabled, I've used my feet to pet my cats when standing & he's adjusted fine to that, but I get glimpses especially towards my husband who is so sweet & loving to all our animals, where I can see Marko was abused & it breaks my husband heart. I forget what it's called but we tried these pheromones that relaxes the cats, it did a little but not enough imo. ideas?

  • Guild name change in WoW for merging guilds?

I've been doing some research and I'm getting a myriad of different information regarding changing a guild name. Here's the deal. I have a guild called <Stained in Blood>, which is level 5. Some of the new raiders we've recruited have a level 22 guild called <New Classic> and have offered to guild swap since their higher level guild would benefit us more in raids & they are only using it as a bank guild now. My quandary is that I really like the name of my guild, but I agree, the level 22 guild would be of more benefit to our raid as a whole & would help immensely in recruitment. The leader of the level 22 guild assures us we can submit a ticket and offer 5 selections to choose from, and the GM will help us out (usually taking the first one). But I've read in multiple places (between wowhead forums, blizzard forums & even here @ yahoo answers) that the it's up to the GM's discretion or it's simply not available anymore. So I'm confused. I'm thinking of asking a GM if we can just swap names, we're "swapping" guilds after all (technically merging but I'm giving our lower guild over to them to use as a bank guild again), other's have suggested both guilds submit a ticket.

I'm trying to find the best way to go about this: if we both submit a ticket, I would need to submit one first, but I worry, like when I did a race change, the name may be put aside for x number of days before it's released to be used again resulting in the level 22 guild not being allowed to take my guild's name (especially if each ticket lands in the hands of a different GM). If I wasn't so attached to the name, it wouldn't matter, but sadly I am. Anyways, what to do? Or rather, how to do this? Provided it can even be done at all?

Any help would be greatly appreciated =)

  • Can I use anything else to transfer mp3's to my apple ipod, besides itunes that is?

I have vista and itunes ran great until a month or two ago. I've checked and I have no viruses or trojans or malware so it's not that, from what I've seen on the internet, this is a common problem among vista users. Unfortunately when I launch itunes, it crashes immediately, I can't even attempt to do anything within it (I am going to try to uninstall it and reinstall it again to see if that helps though). What I'd like to know is there anything else I can use besides itunes in the event I cannot get it to work? I'd love to add more songs to it without having to take up about 50 gigs of space on my husband's computer and having to re-import and re-create every playlist I have (what a pain in the butt)!

Thanks in advance if you know of anything. I'd prefer if it were either free or inexpensive, we're on a budget =).

  • Gamertag idea help?

hi, I'm new to the Xbox360 and XboxLive. My husband picked out his gamertag easily, but I'm having trouble with mine. I wanted it to be unique to that I'm a girl gamer and studying to be a video game programmer (currently in college for it). I'm not opposed to the word geek being used, I'm pretty open. I really didn't want to use words where if I suck at a game then I obviously don't live up to my gamertag lol (as a student of games I seek out all types of games for their experience. i.e. I'm not a sports game fan but I play them so I'm familiar with them).

My husband and I came up with a few ideas already (it's a start =\):

geek warrior (maybe girl it up?)

codechick (doesn't sound quite right, my husband also suggested codergrrl -shrugs-)

With classes ending tomorrow I'd like some play time before they start again this Sunday. Feel free to look at my myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/holeintheuniverse if you are wanting more ideas.

    Thanks =). I appreciate it.

  • Help understanding these problems with trigonometric identities?

I know the answers, I don't understand the why or how these are the answers. I asked my teacher but her reply tells me how inflexible of a thinker I am 'cause for the first time I'm stuck on a math concept - NOT helpful...and doesn't tell me what I am not understanding...I'm a week behind now & beyond frustrated. Math is usually very easy for me, now I hit a wall:

    (cos(BETA)+1) (sin(BETA) cot(BETA)-1)

    (cos(BETA)+1) (sin(BETA) cos(BETA) / sin(BETA)-1)

    sin(BETA) cancells out:

    (cos(BETA)+1) (cos(BETA)-1)

    FOIL:

    cos^2(BETA)-1

    using pythagorean identities:

    cos^2(BETA)-1 = -sin^2(BETA) why negative???

    (sec(BETA)+1) (tan(BETA) csc(BETA)-1)

    (sec(BETA)+1) (sin(BETA) / cos(BETA)* 1 / sin(BETA)-1)

    sin(BETA) cancell out:

    (sec(BETA)+1)(1/cos(BETA)-1)

    (sec(BETA)+1)(sec(BETA)-1)

    sec^2(BETA)-1

    using pytagorean identities:

    sec^2(BETA)-1 = tan^2(BETA) why isn't that negative?

  • Why is my Indoor Cat eating the Puppy's food?

My Himalayan cat is an indoor cat. During the day she gets off her perch, she'll snag two-three bites of the puppy's food (out of the puppy's bowl! Which makes for a very unhappy puppy!), then goes back to her perch, or rather she's sometimes chased back to her perch =). She knows where her food is, and has plenty of it. When I show her where it is again, she sniffs it and walks away or starts to eat it - depends on her mood really. But I do hear her eating her food at night too. Why is she eating the puppy's food? I don't have grass in the house atm - should I go ahead and get some? This is so perplexing, I've caught her doing this three days in a row now. Is the puppy's food just ruffage? Will it hurt her? (besides the angry puppy). BTW She is 8 1/2 years old.

I'd appreciate some thoughts =D. Thanks.

  • Where does the saying "Great Scott!" come from?

My husband and I were watching "Back to the Future" the other day and noticed that Doc Brown says "Great Scott!" a lot. I asked my husband where this saying comes from (he is pretty good about knowing off the wall stuff like that) and he said (jokingly) that it came from Star Trek (ha ha hon :D). So Star Trek aside, how did this saying get started? Where did it come from?

  • What hardware should I include for a Game Design/Programming computer?

I need a computer that can handle Game Design & Programming, but I don't know what hardware the computer should have regarding HD space, memory, processor speed, video & sound cards? Also, what brand name should I trust? Overall, I'm wondering what brands & hard ware would best suit my needs. I saw an HP Pavillion Media Center Desktop (Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600, 3 GB RAM, 640 GB Hard Drive) for just under $1200 (on Amazon). I'm not sure if this is overkill or if the Quad Processor fits my needs - or will a Dual Core will be enough - I don't want something that'll cause delays as I try to test games I design & my husband feels a HD with 250 GB's is more than enough. Any help? I refuse to use Dell's, I've had terrible experiences w/them. I am on a budget, which makes a package system that's upgradable seems the best route to me. I'd like it to last for at least three years without dying on me. Advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  • Myspace comments section - can I move it?

Is there a way for me to move the table of the comments so that it takes up two cell spaces instead of the one cell space it's taking up now (I notice that the comments is lined up under the right hand side and that myspace seems to line up with tables)? I ask because a friend of mine posts these uplifting messages but uses large images and it shifts my entire page to the left. I don't want to delete them, I feel that'd be rude and I like the messages they mean something to me. I think if I can shift the comments page to use the entire bottom of the myspace page, it'd solve my problem. Any ideas? If you need to I'll link the page so you can see the problem I'm facing with the page setup. It looks off it should be centered and it's not, everything does a massive shift to the left and just to me, it looks tacky, but I'm devoted to her messages. Some people would take them to be horrific messages but you'd have to understand them to get them. I appreciate any suggestions to solve this.

  • BB8 (US) - Nick's drinking game - how many will be drunk this Thursday (Jen)?

Nick on BB8 US started this drinking game early in the show - whenever Jen said " I " - you take a drink. If anyone remembers, as Nick, Eric and Zach played (If I recall correctly - I'm not 100% positive it was these three but it's close), they were constantly raising their glasses up to take a drink soon as their glasses hit the table or basically, everytime Jen opened her mouth to speak.

I'm just curious how many people will be drop dead drunk come Thursday night? (and) What are you planning to drink?

(doesn't have to be alcohol - if you're answer is no, if your drink of choice is water or coffee, I do expect many bathroom trips :P - details not warranted however, I can picture it for myself :D)

  • Is there a name for this haircut?

I get my hair cut really short, I have pictures I bring in (samantha Morton - 'In America') but I'm wondering if I can use a term known in haircutting so the people cutting my hair would know better. I don't keep it flat like the cut shows, but use a product called "kiwi burst wet wax" to make it look messy and since the cut makes a cow-lick in the back flip up, I add height to my hair by making the rest of it stand up almost like it's spiked but not completely (it's hard to explain sorry).

Below are links to the pictures I use, any help on what to call the cut would be appreciated. If there's no name that's fine too, at least I won't keep wondering :)

  • Where can I find the curved drinking glasses on BB8 (US)?

I noticed on Showtime After Dark last night that the house guests were drinking from these really cool plastic looking colored glasses (see through) that are - curved. Just slightly In the middle. They look so cool, does anyone know where to get these? I'd love to have some of my own, much better than Dixie plastic cups (we used to not have a dishwasher and glasses are very annoying to clean by hand!).

Just wondering where they can be purchased I tried doing a search for 'curved glassware' and came up empty :(. I'll keep trying though I'm not sure what else to use to find curved plastic cups on the net so I thought I would ask here in case anyone recognised them. I would very much like them though (if they aren't outrageously expensive - plastic cupware shouldn't cost an arm and a leg!).

    Appreciate it.

  • BB8 (US) Is Amber too weepy weak for the game?

I'm wondering if my husband and I are just heartless people - but is anyone else tired of Amber bursting into tears everytime she opens her mouth to utter a word? I'm curious because every show, we were rolling our eyes commenting "Come on - weeping willow, get a backbone". My husband seems to have an assortment of names for her, all them make me laugh.

I am an emotional person too, but I don't crack and cry whenever I open my mouth to speak. Is she just too soft for the game? Or does anyone think she's using her emotions as a plot in the game? I personally wish she'd gone home week one when she faked the 'volleyball injury' to the jaw for vote sympathy - that annoyed me (comment made by Joe on Showtime after dark to Dustin and Amber's about their little plot).

  • BB 8 (US) past veto competition question? (Who really gave up HoH's?)?

I'm a bit confused. In the veto competition where Jamika gave up the right to compete in 5 HoH competitions, I remember Kail and Jen doing the same. If I recall one of the other competitors (Dustin or Danielle?) lost that round because they said they'd give up 4 HoH's (Eric was being threatened and Danielle was HoH that week, I thought Danielle also gave up 5 HoH's but I might be wrong). Why then is Jen allowed to compete in HoH if Jamieka is not? Jen won the veto by giving up $250K of the prize money - Kail (now evicted) & Jamieka said they'd give up less money. So why then if Jen won, and Jamieka did not, is Jen permitted to compete in HoH, if despite winning, she gave up competing in the same number of HoH's - or did winning give her the right to compete again? (Big Brother 8 never clarified this to viewers, not on television, or on Showtime and my husband didn't see anything online about it either). Appreciate any clarification on that mess - it's very confusing.

  • Why does this annoy me in Reality 'Gameshows'?

I like shows like 'On the Lot', & 'America's Got Talent' to see the films the director's make & the talent that makes it. I've noticed lately, that it's become common this year for people to flash to the camera their number w/their fingers. I consider myself a reasonably smart person, I can count to 4 (picked this number since it's the 'Talent' Finalist's numbers). Why do I feel my intelligence mocked by someone standing in front of a camera flipping the number 4 w/the back of their hand, now the front, a wink, & they mouth 'four' now the back of the hand, now a wink as they flip to the front, & mouth four - it goes on & on as the announcer drills the number 4 into us fifty times. I got a secret, I can read too -points to the number at the bottom of the screen too-. I simply find the visual & announcer annoying (said twice w/out visual is a class act to me (you're not begging)). I'm curious if I'm the only one who feels like this & why this is so popular to do in these shows'?

  • I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Can I get a tattoo?

I have a condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I have the hypermobile type primarily (joint dislocation) but I have experienced some of the Classic Type (Skin tearing, scar's stretching and paper thin skin). My skin does rip off with a band-aid. I use a Fentanyl patch to deliver pain medication through my skin & I've noticed when I remove it; it takes the skin with it (I have a covering to help keep my patch on & it adds to the surface area that's ripped off). I would like a tattoo, a small one, but I worry about this because I do bleed easily & I scar & bruise heavily. When I have bloodwork - it always bursts my veins (which is common whether needles are stuck in the veins or I bump something & they burst to make a nasty bruise). But I do fine with accupuncture (I love it in fact). Any thoughts on what I should do besides using permanent marker? :). Pain isn't an issue, I had some cavaties in my teeth & never felt them or the dentist scraping in them w/a pick due to my pain meds.

  • What's the best book to learn this kind of Crochet?

I'd like to make a basic hand towel size piece, the crocheted holes (not sure what that's called) with scalloped edges around all sides. I've had a square version as a blanket since I was a baby. I have chronic pain & during flare ups I find the soothing motions of my fingers winding in and out of the holes of the soft yarn takes my mind off the pain. The first one disintergrated, my mother made another with the holes a little larger for my now adult fingers. My cats however, have taken over this one & my husband definately doesn't fancy it's size. My husband's biological mother crochets, but I would rather learn to make it myself (after all people move, and face it, the die too I need to know how to do this). I've heard of the Stitch and B*tch books, but not sure I want to go beyond beginning stage - I already have way too many crafts & spend time on (& money too) - I don't know where I'd find time if I started another hobby. Thanks!

  • What kind of of computer can handle game/simulation design?

I'll be starting an online college soon that teaches game, simulation & AI programing, design & production. My current computer can't handle that kind of media & I need one that can. I'd like the computer to be able to run the programs I'll be taught to use to create my own little games here & there just for my own benefit (& my portfolios). But I want to also be able to run a few games that I enjoy playing (like the sims/sims2, tycoon games & civ games. I'm not real keen on the idea of having Vista or a Dell, I've had really bad luck with dells. But I'm not sure whether to go with a desktop (which brand's pkg?, or build by...?) & it's ease to upgrade, or a laptop (which brands pkg?) it's versitile & usable anywhere I want it (I'm disabled - sometimes go back to bed for heating pads on my back & joints). I'd appreciate thoughts & suggestions, we are on a budget so please keep that in mind. Thanks!

  • Is there a way to use my TiVO with Comcast (Houston area)?

My husband & I moved from Las Vegas to Houston. We used & loved our TiVO's (not sure which series they are) in Vegas. We had them hooked with ethernet between both boxes (& hooked to the cable modem so we got internet); we miss being able to transfer the items we record in the living room to the bedroom and visa versa. Houston was just starting their switch to Comcast & we were denied usage of our TiVO's & given a lame DVR. I wanted to cry, but I was hopeful with the changeover, we *might* be able to use our TiVO's again. Alas we still can't & we dislike this DVR to the point we're ready to throw both of them out the window & go for satellite. I really miss my TiVO. Is there *any* way to use our TiVo's the way we did in Vegas with Cox, here in Houston with Comcast? -cry- I want my TiVO back -sniff-. -begs- please? pretty please?
