5 AnswersPhysics1 decade agodescribe how the nature of a volcanic hazard can depend upon the type of magma being erupted?
I was thinking around the lines of if it is a more viscous magma, (like andesite) being erupted then it would produce more explosive eruptions because it would get blocked up and produce buldges which then burst with the increasing pressure producing more ash?
pyroclastic flows perhaps??
1 AnswerEarth Sciences & Geology1 decade agostuck on past exam paper question, help will be great?
the question is:
using your knowledge, explain how a major earthquake might be predicted by monitoring minor changes in seismic activity prior to the earthquake event.
So far I have thought about- the seismic gap theory but thought that it cannot be right as the question is asking me seismic changes prior to the earthquake
and i though about mild tremors??
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as my exam is tomorrow!

i am looking for marking rather than the answer:
i did a anticline, and said that this can be formed when there is force such as compression caused by plate movement. an example is when a plate collides with another plate the force form the collision causes the two edges to fauld and deform.
is my answer correct and if it is not then what would i do to make it right?
