  • Bull Terrier VS Boxer dog?

Ok, it's final, we're getting a dog! Help me decide what dog would be best for us?

We are a family of five, and a cat. All the children are older- 16, 17, and 19. We moved into town a year ago, but still have horses on a relatives farm in which we still care for until they are sold. I ride, as well as my parents and are very good at it- and so I believe this knowledge is transferable to a dog. I jog as well as my sister. We will leave the dog alone for 3hours of the day (once we allow it to grow accustomed to our absence of course, nothing so sudden). We are a fairly laid-back family, and we like to stay around home most of the time. We want to take our dog every with us, though, if we do happen to leave our home town (ie: to visit relatives, to go camping, we have a boat?).

Boxer experience: parents owned one before. Handsome, great gaurd dog, good learner. Was wonderful with us young'ns.

Bull terrier experience: none. Only handed down knowledge.

  • Great Dane left outside while away?

Do they do well outside? Say it wasn't in extreme heat (or in that matter, it's not even close to freezing either). If you left lots of water, a dog house, a locked 6ft fences and it was 15-25C outside- would a great Dane be content for about 3 hours by himself? It's a medium sized town yard.

  • Where is Mark Twain's novel "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" banned?

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn- by Mark Twain/Samuel Langhorne Clemens.

What locations in the world is/isn't this book banned? I know here in Canada we read the book (unaltered as it should be) without hesitation, at least in grade 10 English.

  • How do you explain dinosaurs- or in this case the LACK of?

I've noticed many religions are quite skeptical (in the least) of the entire existence or idea of dinosaurs. Why is this? Also, how could one explain the false reality of these prehistoric creatures with all of these fossils? I'm generally curious, not attempting to make any kind of statement. Thank-you

  • Female leopard gecko seems gravid, maybe not?

She was a breeder until I got her. I've had her for a year and a half. Her belly keeps getting bigger and Im not entirely sure I saw 2 round "things" in her stomach (maybe I'm getting too excited?). She eats off and on in the winter, but her tail never gets small. Everything seems pretty much regular except her seemingly growing stomach. She's very active and loves to interact. She lives on paper towel (NO impaction), and is solitary. I don't really want to take her for a two hour car ride into town, have the vet tell me she's pregnant and say he has nothing else to tell me (he's an idiot), and then take a 2 hour drive back home. Anything I should know?

  • My snake has a yellowish colored belly, is this normal?

He's a four year old children's python. I know corns have almost yellowish bellies as they age. I have had this guy for almost a two months now and he's eating and whatnot, and the colour has never changed. Anything I should know?

  • What would be some qualitative observations made from this grade 10 science lab?

Is this the answer?... We observed the chemical reactions through colours between acids and bases (such as hydrochloric acid/sodium hydroxide) by combining these compounds with indicators (such as phenolphthalein).

  • Should I sell/give away some of my animals?

Im 16 and I must admit I don't take very good care of myself. I am always getting in fights, getting bashed by our livestock, getting minimal amount of sleep, and I hardly find time to eat. My dad, a man I highly respect, tells me I should sell my animals because I focus too much on them than myself. In some ways this is true. I have lots of reptiles, fish, as well as the ranch and horses. They are worth so much to me... but things are indeed stressful, and my habits are getting out of hand. I would lease them out (find them somewhere to stay but pay for their supplies and whatnot) but I have a hard time trusting people in my area, it's just a small town with small town living requirements. My friends could hardly keep a hamster alive for a week. I am thinking of selling them off or donating them to collectors/breeders a couple of hours down south during the trip my dad are planning in about two weeks from now.

I'm not asking you to make a decision for me, but what would you do? Why?

I collapsed after getting really dizzy?

I woke up this morning and went downstairs. After drinking a cup of decaf coffee I got up off the couch to put the cup away and I thought I stood up too fast because I got kind of dizzy. But then everything went black and all I remember is my dad holding me up on the floor. I'm 16 and I don't have any health problems.

  • Do you feed your snakes inside or outside their live-in enclosure?

Just a cool, never ending debate. I will reveal my preference afterwords.

  • Is it okay to feed my snake in this?

I wouldn't be here if I had any serious doubts, so please bare with me.

I "want" to feed my 3foot snake (children's python) in a 11"L, 9"W, 5"H box. Moronically I accidentally dropped his 10gallon feeding tank down a flight of stairs. Obviously it is now broken. This is the biggest container I could find. His mouse is already thawed also. Help?

  • Is my adult female leopard gecko okay?

I walked into the room and she started biting at the air and kind of squirming. It looked like she was in pain. I looked inside her mouth and it wasn't rotten. She doesn't do this when she's hungry, rather she runs around in her cage wide-eyed when she's expecting food. Her stomach is also really big. I held a light up to her and I couldn't see anything alarming, but then again I don't know what their bodies look like. There is calcium in her tank. She poops and drinks regularly. She is fed daily, and eats 1-3 worms each day. Her tail is plump, but not real big anymore. Advice? Any help at all?

  • What is the country song of these lyrics?

The signs of love can be hard to see

As the eye of a needle in the candle light

But I thought I saw them in your eyes

When I took you home last night

    [CHORUS]

Did the stars shine brighter on the night we met

Were the blossoms sweeter in the tree

Did the song bird sing in your heart when we kissed

Did you fall in love with me, did you fall in love with me

The northern lights give a ghostly glow

It's hard to tell if they're really there

But I thought I saw a ghost of a smile

When my hand brushed against your hair

    [CHORUS]

Did the stars shine brighter on the night we met

Were the blossoms sweeter in the tree

Did the song bird sing in your heart when we kissed

Did you fall in love with me, did you fall in love with me

Sometimes the one that you really love

Slips away and you don't know why

But I thought I saw you hesitate

    When we said good-bye

    [CHORUS]

Did the stars shine brighter on the night we met

Were the blossoms sweeter in the tree

Did the song bird sing in your heart when we kissed

Did you fall in love with me, did you fall in love with me

Did the stars shine brighter on the night we met

Were the blossoms sweeter in the tree

Did the song bird sing in your heart when we kissed

Did you fall in love with me, did you fall in love with me

  • What is this older country song?

It goes something like... "were the stars brighter on the day we met, were the blossoms sweeter in the trees?" something something something, than "and did you fall in love with me?" and it repeats. Ideas?

  • Gecko Health Problems... Again. Help? Please?

My 4 year old male leopard has a scabby (orange pink) looking "thing" in his vent. After presenting this idea to another owner they replied that it was probably dried sperm. I bathed him that night and it almost disappeared. Next day he went into shed, and the day after that I was leaving to visit an ill relative. The thing came back a week after soaking. He doesn't eat hardly while he has this thing. Have YOU ever had something similar? Thoughts? Help?

GO SEE THE VET YOU SAY?: The vet here sucks. After acquiring my first Leo he told be my gecko had cancer after I spotted bumps in his abdominal area. I was shocked to find my "male" lay eggs the within the week. I was only a kid then, so I didn't know the difference between genders, but come on- vet? Better not.

  • are there active pet tarantulas?

price isn't exactly the issue, but I don't want an arachnid that is difficult to keep (I have enough of that already). Are there any arachnids that are active during the day and/or over the top flashy?

    1 AnswerOther - Pets9 years ago
  • Is there a pet bug like this?

I want an insect (/arachnid/ect.) that is generally hardy, active, and easy to care for. Is there a pet like this that is legal (Canada), lives for more than a month/couple months (preferably), and isn't a cockroach? They are not something I am interested in, and the hissing roaches are not available here (sadly). ------->>>>Thoughts??????

  • Fish sickness just... Disappeared?

Not that I'm complaining. But it's weird. I was almost certain 3 of the ten fish I keep had itch, or something like it. I raised the temp by a degree each day to only graduate to the desiese "eliminating" requirement. Two day, and two degrees later, the spots all disappeared!!! They haven't been back for days. None of my fish show signs of any repetition of symptoms or new occurring sickness! What happened?(no drugs/chemicals were used)
