How can I get rid of this lump/scar/boil from my piercing?
Firstly, I'm confused as to what to refer to "it" as because I don't know if it's a boil or hypertrophic scar. I don't think it's a keloid, what do you think? It looks like this...
http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2...
I've had my rook pierced for over 9 months, I noticed some scarring after roughly 5 months, but I read to leave it alone and it'll go away. Last week I accidentally hit it, and the bump got pretty big, it almost tripled in size and swelled up, it looked like a keloid. The swelling has gone down and what remains is a bump like the one in the link above, but a more dry, crusty version. The dry bits are also white.
My cleaning routine consists of me saturating a q-tip with the solution I was given after my piercing cleaning around the holes, as well as trying to kind of squeeze the solution into the piercing,
Thanks for answering.
3 AnswersOther - Skin & Body7 years agoWhat's up with my rook piercing? this can't be normal?
I've had a book piercing for just under two months and it's always been swollen from the day I got it. I thought it'd go down after a month, the swelling has reduced a tiny bit but it's still swollen to the point where the bottom ball just peeks through.
Also, since yesterday I've noticed this weird brown scar, I'm not sure if its hypertrophic because it seems to be raising into a bump. It's slightly painful.
What is this bump and why is my rook so swollen? It doesn't hurt and my rook never hurt, not even just after I'd had it done.
Another thing to note is my bar is a bit smaller than most standard bars, could that affect it?
I clean it regularly using the solution given when it was pierced.
It's also always a dark red bruised colour and I dont know why, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

When should I start revising for A level Biology? Aiming for an A*?
I start Year 12 on Monday and I've picked Biology as one of my subjects, it's my strongest subject so I plan on getting an A* and I'm willing to give up all my social life for it haha. I got an A* in GCSE biology even though I only revised for it about a week before each exam (Don't put me down for it, I spent the rest of the time putting effort into my weakest subject, which I got an A in!)
I love biology and I want to go in a field that involves biology, so I want to do well. How long before the exam (June 2014) should I start revising for it? And for how long each day?
I understand that A levels are big step up from GCSEs, so I picked subjects I'm passionate about and thoroughly enjoy. And I know to be revising everyday, I just don't want to go crazy with revision from the day I start school so that by time it comes to exam revision, I'm burnt out.
I've picked 3 sciences and Sociology, if that helps!
Any advice from former sixth formers, or people going in to Year 13 right now would be mucho appreciated!

2 AnswersOther - Education8 years agoHas anyone bought the FOME Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard and case from AMAZON?
To be more specific the name is this product is:
FOME® PU Leather Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard and Protective Case for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 (White)
http://www.amazon.com/Leather-Wireless-Bluetooth-K...
I want to buy it for my Note but I'm a little apprehensive as it's a company I've never heard of, nor have I ever bought an electrical item from Amazon. The reviews look good but I'm still unsure.
I'd just like to know if it works, if it looks good, and any pros and cons.
Thank you :)
1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks8 years agoDoes theHP SLATEBOOK X2 come with Microsoft Word, or any similar app?
I'm thinking of buying either a Note or the HP SLATEBOOK X2 and I need an application that allows me to create documents with pictures and long pieces of text (2-3 pages max), kinda like microsoft word...
Is there an app on or available to download on the Slatebook itself? (Preferably free)
Thank you
2 AnswersSoftware8 years agoHP Slatebook x2 or Samsung Note 10.1? Which is better for a Year 12 student?
Hi,
I'm starting my A-levels and I was thinking of buying a new laptop, however I've never liked how laptops tend to slow down after a couple of years so I thought I would buy a tablet/notebook instead and use this purely for school. The main reason for this is I tend to revise outside of my home, so they're more portable and have a longer battery life.
I like that the Slatebook has a keyboard which is easier to type long documents with, however I like the S Pen that comes with the Note as it would be handy to make notes with.
I don't plan on taking English or History so I don't particularly need a keyboard as I won't be frequently writing long essays.
I plan on taking chemistry and biology with either maths or economics, and possibly geography. I know I won't have to do a huge deal of writing with maths however I'm not so sure about Chemistry and Biology, would I benefit from the Slatebook's keyboard or is the Note better?
I'm leaning more towards the Samsung Note as I prefer it's features and it's S Pen, as well as it's S Note app, and whilst I'm aware very few apps can be used with the multi-tasking feature, it's a nice feature to have. However I want to know if I'd be better off with the Slatebook because of it's keyboard, and I also want to know if it's more convenient for a sixth former taking sciences?

1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks8 years agoAre there any convertible tablets available under £500?
Hi,
I was wondering if there's any convertible tablets (which are tablets that can double up as a laptop by attaching a keyboard dock) available, preferably in the UK for less than £500?
As for storage, I'm happy with both 16GB and 32GB. I don't need one with 64GB.
Thanks in advance! :)
1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks8 years agoWhy does my helix piercing hurt after 8 months?
I got my helix (upper ear) pierced around 8/9 months ago, it was pierced with a gun. (Big mistake, I know. I wish I hadn't now) It didn't get infected but it did form a cartilage bump which has gone now.
The first weird thing I noticed was I was able to sleep on it the day I had it done, and even after that. HOWEVER, occasionally, all these months later, when I lean on that ear it hurts. Not immensely but it's quite sensitive. Also, it's always tender when I come out of the shower, so it hurts to touch around the area of the piercing when I'm cleaning it.
So I'm wondering why it hurts now, after all these months to lean on and very rarely sleep on. Is it to do with the healing process? (because I'm aware it takes up to a year to heal)
This isn't a recent thing, it's happened before but it's come to mind now because it has been quite a while since I got it done
Thanks in advance :)

1 AnswerOther - Skin & Body8 years agoShould I buy a medicine ball or fitness ball? Looking to get toned...?
I was looking to buy one of these to exercise with, I want to get more toned and increase my flexibility.
I've started working out on the cross trainer for about 20 minutes a day, 2-3x a week (I'd do more but I have to go to school and work too)
RIGHT NOW: I'm a size 10 (UK) 5 ft 9.5, I have a podgy belly (although when I eat it bloats and it looks bigger by at least 3 inches), my upper arms are quite flabby, my thighs are extremely flabby and my hips are huge :( (I'm not concious though, I love my body, but I want to get more fit and wouldn't mind losing some weight)
http://www.imagiosalonandspa.com/Websites/imagiost...
According to this, I reckon I'm soft straight/soft curved.
Eventually, I want toned arms and legs, and a relatively flat stomach (It's podgy right now) and I really want to make my hips smaller, I have slight love handles which I really don't like.
I know a medicine ball is heavier than a fitness ball, but which one would you recommend for me?
Do you own one that you'd recommend for me to buy? I'm leaning towards the Adidas Antiburst Gym ball (65cm) from argos.
I want to be fitter, more flexible and appear toned.
Oh and lastly, what size ball would you recommend for a 5 ft 9 girl? I'm thinking 65cm diameter. Bearing in mind, I will be using this ball instead of a chair to sit at my desk.
3 AnswersDiet & Fitness8 years agoHow to apply foundation correctly..?
I tried on foundation for the first time today, I've been watching make up tutorials for a few years so I know what I was doing. I used a brush and blended it into my neck, around my eyes (didn't have primer or concealer) and applied some lipstick. It looked good but my face looked so fair, I have redness and slightly dark circles so I dunno if its cos my skin looked so flawless or what but I felt like I'd caked it on. I used minimal amounts tho. Any tips? Also after 15-20 mins it felt like the foundation had worn off, I'd only been laying in bed though, did it come off or did I just get used to it?

1 AnswerOther - Skin & Body8 years agoAre my starter earrings stuck?! They won't come out! :(?
I'm still wearing my starter earrings that were used to originally pierce my earlobes, I've waited the correct amount of time needed before they can be changed but they won't come off :( my earlobes are just getting hot, red and itchy but they won't come off. I've tried wiggling them but it's not working, what should I do?

4 AnswersFashion & Accessories8 years agoHow does Race For Life work? (Cancer Research UK)?
This year I want to enter Race for Life and I was wondering...
How much is the entry fee?
How do you get people to sponsor you? Do you get a form?
How do you give in the money that you receive via sponsors?
What should you really bring on the day?
Do you get a chance to buy a memento to remind you of the day? Or do they give you something like a certificate?
What's the experience like?
I'm really looking forward to it and want to know as much as possible! :-D
Thanks
