  • APHA Papers Question?

I have never bought a registered horse before, and I purchased a APHA mare nearly 2 months ago. The owners appeared to not have her papers, but gave me a photocopy of her papers to me, but told me repeatedly "we are waiting on APHA for the papers and once we get them, they will be mailed to you".

Well, its been weeks now. I have contacted APHA and they looked up my APHA's name. On her papers, it still says she is owned by the breeder/1st owner of her and they live in Missouri. This mare is now in Arizona, and I bought her from a couple who lives in AZ but bought her from the people in MS. APHA says that a transfer document has been sent to the address of the owners on the APHA's papers.

They have ignored all emails or letters from APHA and nobody can contact them.

So I go to call the people I bought this mare from, and now their phone line is disconnected.

I need the papers on this mare. If I were to fill out a new registration form with pictures and become an APHA member, then could I get her papers?

Thanks for all who can help.

  • Car Town on Facebook..cost of the '69 Charger?

On facebook they just got a '69 Charger that I want, but I need to be a few levels higher to unlock the car. Once I get to that level, how much does it cost? I don't have many blue coins, but I have almost 160K in money on the game. I'm not spending my own money to buy coins for the game.

Who's gotten to this level and has the car unlocked so I can find out the price? Thanks

  • Camo PROM Accessories?

I'm wearing a floor-length black dress with some camo inserts:

    http://www5.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?DeptID=0&CatI...

Instead of the white stripe at the top, it will be mossy oak camo, and we are inserting a small section in the dress of the same material that looks like this:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Mossy-Oak-Breakup-camo-camoufl...

Now you all know what the dress looks like, I need to figure out accessories for this.

I need jewelry, hair accessories (doing some kind of updo and need dangle earrings). Should I get camo nails? or leaves?

Thanks for any helpful answers! I would like to buy them at the store in person because Prom is next weekend.

  • I am a high school student looking to have a career in law enforcement?

I am a high school student looking to have a career in law enforcement.

I am about to enter my sophomore year in high school and I have given the thought of being in law enforcement for a while now. I don't know exactly what I want to do specifically, but I am set on working towards getting a job in the field.

Could anyone suggest some classes that may be offered at a high school that I would want to take to get as much knowledge possible in the field so I can figure out what I want to do specifically? I want to know what I can do at the age that I am at, and some of the basic steps to getting there. Can/should I volunteer or visit a police station?

    Thanks in advance. :)

  • Mare kicks, bites, bucks at...nothing...while in her stall.?

She acts like theres another horse in the round pen she is right next to. She's always been next to horses, but isn't now, and there aren't ever horses in the round pen unless they are being worked.

Its the weirdest thing: she will look at the wall, pin her ears, and kick the wall and mini-buck, as if a horse is really bugging her. She's never done anything like this before.

    Ideas?

  • I have a young female dog who leaks urine..?

Whenever anyone in my family goes outside to feed her, we will make no eye contact and completely ignore her if she tries to hop all over us. She is still young, under a year old, and is a rescued dog. She's a very sweet dog, but leaks a lot of urine because she gets excited or anxious.

Boo doesn't understand any basic commands. Not 'sit' or 'down' or anything. She often will scamper around in corners, goes down on her belly and uses her paws to crawl around. She is by far the most difficult dog to keep - we have rescued many dogs - but we don't want to give up on her. Any suggestions?

End results will likely be the vet's advice, but we want to see if there are any simple remedies or treatments for this before going out to spend a lot of money on veterinary advice.

I plan to use a standing martingale on my pony mare and I was wondering if this is all I really need or do I need to buy the whole thing including the neck strap..just wondering because that this seems to be the part attaching the nose band to the girth area and I was wondering how necessary the neck piece is..

    Thanks. (:

  • I need to sell my horse, asap...?

I bought a TB and I have worked with him for several months now and I am having a lot of issues with him. The other owner cannot buy him back and because he has some soundness problems and had a bad history, he can be considered 'dangerous'. He did A-rated hunter shows and he is 15 years old...no other known problems besides he has been going lame on me since I bought him in May. His ground manners are decent, loads in the trailer very well...but even though I have tried, I cannot sell him to anywhere..there is one person interested, but if they do buy him, it won't be until January or February 2009. I can't wait that long. I am a youth with a future in showing and this horse was misrepresented to me and now I am stuck with him and I don't have any where near the level to work with him.

What are some things I can do to sell him? I am NOT going to go slaughter him or send him to the auction...don't bother answering if that is going to be your answer.

  • How to feed supplements *10 pts!*

I have my TB on Psyllium pellets (tiny pellets) and Grand Complete (powder) and I feed Grand Complete to him every day, and Psyllium 1-2x per week. Psyllium cannot get very wet because the purpose of it is when the horse eats it, the wetness of saliva etc turns it into a gel and it sticks to any sand in his intestines and comes out the other end...to prevent sand buildup/colic, in other words.

The Grand Complete is a powder and the Psyllium pellets can't get wet. How should I feed this to him? It isn't very appetizing and I am not sure how much he can eat of it because his nose blows it around when he exhales and it scatters. I have put it in a small bowl as well as his feeder.

Is there something else I should give to him to make this easier? Prefferably NOT something like beet pulp that takes a lot of prep time..sometimes I have very little time at the barn to supplement him.

    Thanks!

  • Horse with a fresh face wound to the bone!?

***PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME TO TALK TO A VET. I KNOW THIS AND I WILL BE CALLING THEM FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. THE OFFICE IS CLOSED FOR NOW***

I came to give my horse his supplement tonight and found that he had a face wound, looks like he slit it on something (looked all around his stall, nothing had blood or obvious protrusion to cause the injury). It looked clean - as in it didn't seem to drip blood at all during the process. But, as I looked at it, you could see the bone, white, and the flesh around it looked relatively new. I really do not know exactly when this happened or why. he was in his stall and did not seem to show any signs of pain or distress. He let us handle his face normally and stayed put while I bandaged it.

I don't have a huge amount of medical supplies on hand - daily essentials like MTG, Corona, Vetwrap, and so on. The cut did not look dirty or infected. I imagined that it happened within the last hour because it looked clean and fresh. I used a clean soft ---

  • I can't sign in. Cookie problem? *10 points!*?

I have a Sony computer and I am using Mozilla Firefox. I am trying to sign into a website forum and once I sign in and go to post, it signs me out and when I sign back in, by the time I post, I am signed out again. I think it is a cookie problem because any other computer allows me to sign in and out without hassle. I used to be able to sign in and stay logged in, but we had a computer virus check and I guess I can't sign in now because it deleted something.

First of all, how do I fix this?

Second of all, do I want to be deleting cookies or saving cookies? How do I do this?

Thanks a lot! 10 points to the most helpful answer.

Okay, my farrier cut my gelding quick on this hoof exactly where he tested sensitive. There is a small cut that it clotted but bleeds a tiny bit when we pick it to clean it out. No heat detected; sensitive; has a shoe on without a rim pad. We have been spraying iodine on it after cleaning it throroughly and not wrapping it. We have soaked it 2 times total. Still lame. • Strong at the canter?

I have a new TB who rides in a regular full-cheek snaffle but has also ridden in a slow twist full-cheek snaffle. The other day I was riding him in a one-on-one lesson with only my trainer and I in the arena. I was fine trotting on him, but I am getting a little nervous about cantering with him because when I canter he is okay for a little while, but then he gets strong and pulls me down a little bit and gets faster. He doesn't even get what would be considered dangerous, but I am used to a small pony's canter and now I am cantering on a huge horse that doesn't listen to what I say, if I half-halt, yield him in a circle, or lean back, he doesn't listen and keeps going until I can finally get him to stop. His ground manners are good, but I am going to definitely be working with him on natural horsemanship because he doesn't listen to me on the ground or undersaddle and I refuse to jump with him until he respects me more than he does now. Suggestions to stop this? (no Parelli please!)

  • Farrier cut short - now he is lame?

My farrier cut my new TB's hooves too short and on his front left, outside quarter there is a small sore that looked like it was bleeding, but clotted and stopped. My farrier said he put some iodine on it and he cut it a little too short but my TB was really unbalanced and long. So, he did the best he could to balance it and I talked to my trainer, my farrier, and another very horse-smart lady. She originally thought he cut to the quick or had a hot nail. My farrier said he wouldn't be bearing weight on it or moving much if it was that, and he looked like he was walking fine. I turned him both directions and he looked okay. Its sensitive on the spot, but no heat, and its right up against the horse shoe, so it isn't directly touching the ground. I think he trimmed his sole too short, and since he looked ok at the walk, I hopped on him in the sand arena and walked him around for a bit, he felt fine. He was noticably lame on the leg at the trot and I got off. Cleaned and put iodine on it
