  • Need frizz serum help...?

Please read before answering. I have very curly hair and I live in a very humid climate. Bad combination, I know. Anyway, my hair is always frizzy, no matter what serum I try. I don't like to have a lot of product in my hair and can't stand for my hair not to feel natural. Can someone suggest something that will actually work to remove the frizz from my hair? Here's what I've tried so far and none of these works for me, so please don't suggest them. So far I've tried: Paul Mitchell Super Skinny, Biolage smoothing serum, Garnier Fructis smooth and sleek serum, Chi Silk Infusion, Biosilk Silk Therapy, Regis Design line smooth Talker, John Frieda Frizz Ease (in every strength), Garnier Smooth and sleek leave in conditioner, Biolage leave in conditioner, Dove anti frizz leave in, Infusium 23 leave in... so I've definitely tried. I'm thinking about trying Beyond the Zone Frizz Zapper, anyone have experience with this? Or have another suggestion. NONE of the ones I've mentioned can keep my hair from frizzing. Help!

  • Which is better for your hair? Blow dryer or flat iron?

My hair is really, really curly. It looks good when I use a blow dryer to style it in a more relaxed curl and it also looks good when I flat iron it. I'm just trying to figure out which is less damaging to your hair, the blow dryer or the flat iron? I use a heat protectant when I do either one but is one less damaging than the other?

  • How can I fade my hair color?

I dyed my hair black, like I always do (my natural color is black, I dye it to cover grey). I used the same brand I always do (Garnier Nutrisse) and normally it looks very natural. I've always been very happy with it but this time, it's very shoe polish-y. Is there anything I might have at home (i.e vinegar, etc) that I could rinse/wash it with that might fade it out just a little bit? It just looks so...flat and dyed this time.

  • My hair is a mess. What can I do?

I have hair that is very curly. It's just above my shoulders when curly and about to the middle of my should blades when straight, so that should give you a good idea of how curly it it. It's very tight curls.

I try to do everything right but it's still in horrible condition. I color my hair with a semi-permanent color because I was told it's not as damaging as a permanent color. I do this every three or four months to cover the moderate amount of grey. I color it my natural color which is very dark brown-almost black. I use a quality shampoo and conditioner- Biolage hydrating shampoo and conditioning balm. I use quality sytling products - chi silk infusion, biolage hydrating curl creme, paul mitchell super skinny, and friz ease. I also use infusium leave in treatment, garnier smooth and sleek leave in conditioner. Not all at the same time of course. I use a wide toothed comb on it when it's wet. I don't blow dry. I do use a flat iron maybe three times a week - Andis is the name brand of the flat iron. My hair still has terrible split ends, it's very dry, frizzy, puffy and fuzzy.

My hair has always been curly but it's gotten really really curly since having my children. I don't like it anymore and don't know what to do with it. I'm frustrated with the condition of it and when it's curly I feel like i look like a poodle, it's that curly! Is there anythng I can do to help? Would usuing a relaxer work? I'm caucasian, but my hair is as curly as if i wer african american. Should I try a relaxer? I don't want to damage my hair anymore than it already is. I really need some help!

  • Freezing homemade chicken noodle soup...?

So is there a way to freeze homemade chicken noodle soup with the noodles in it without having the noodles get all mushy? How do they do it when you buy canned soup?

I'm making a big crock pot of chicken noodle soup and was wondering if there was a good way to freeze it with the noodles or if I have to just freeze the soup and make the noodles when I'm ready to eat.

  • How to get rid of mosquitos?

I live in Central Florida. I have a beautiful backyard but it's completely shaded by two GIANT oak trees. When my kids go outside to play, even in the middle of the day, they are getting eaten up by mosquitos. Is there a spray or something I can use to get rid of the mosquitos? I have a landscaped backyard with no standing water at all. I can't plant many of the plants that would help because there is no sun. I've trimmed the trees back as much as possible. It's frustrating. My children are two and three years old and I don't think there's a good repellent I can put on them at this age that is safe. Any ideas would be appreciated. They love to play outside and it's just such a shame that they can't.

  • Buy out partner or dissolve business?

I have an LLC partnership. My partner and I have had a falling out. I'm not sure what to do with the business or the best way to handle it. I have put a lot of time and effort into getting it started. It's still not quite off the ground yet, but all the paperwork has been filed. We never got around to signing a partnership agreement. What are my responsibilities as far as buying him out or removing him from the business? I don't want to dissolve it if I don't have to. I'd like to take it over and make it my own. Will I have to re-file as a sole proprietorship? What do I do about buying him out? Am I only responsible for paying him back what he's put into it? We have no real assets at the moment. There is the cost of the website, the paperwork that was filed, ad the cost of having a logo made. Most of which, I paid for on my own. He has paid part of some things. How do I go about this? We are in Florida if that makes any difference.

  • Will this work for cycling my tank?

I have a new 55 gallon tank. I want to house African Rift Lake cichlids. I haven't set the tank up just yet, but I'm getting ready to do it. For the tank, I have a HOT magnum 250 filter. What I would like to do is take that filter and add it to my established 30 gallon tank to cycle the filter. My 30 gallon is very lightly stocked ( one play, three corys, two small bristlenose plecos) Then, set up the 55 gallon, and for the time being, add some ghost shrimp to keep the cycle going until I decide what fish I want. my questions are:

    1. will this work?

    2. how long will it take the new filter to cycle in the already established tank?

    3. will the shrimp be able to keep the cycle going?

    4. how many ghost shrimp should I use in the 55 gallon?

    5. would this cause any problems with my already established 30 gallon tank?

  • Question about laptops in general?

I need to get a laptop-I'm going back to school. Is it still possible to get a new laptop that has XP instead of Vista on it? Also, how does it work to have wireless internet. I have cable internet at the house. So, how do I set that up so that the laptop could work off it wireless? Just a basic general description will do- I don't need step by step instructions. I've never owned a laptop before. Thanks

  • Need some more betta help?

I resuced another betta today. Half dead in a filthy bowl at the lps. He's in clean water w/ some aquarium salt and a heating pad to help warm it up. Anything else I can do? He's now down at the bottom not looking so good. He looks a little skinny but he won't eat yet, other than that, his color looks pretty good considering. Any suggestions that might help him out a little more than I've done already?

I just couldn't leave him at the pet store, he was upside down in the bowl. I actually thought he was dead, but he moved. I don't really expect him to make it, but I'm gonna do my best to help him. So, if you have any helpful advice, other than ending his misery, I'm willing to give it a try. Thanks

  • Question for the experts...?

I'm pretty sure my fish have columnaris. How they got it, I just don't know. Anyway, I have some maracyn-two. Can I use that or should I get something else to treat this? Also, what can I expect for results and how do I prevent this from happening agian. I do regular water changes (50% AT LEAST once a week) and add aquarium salt to the tank.

    10 gallon tank

    1 - better

    2 - neons

1- very small pepper cory (he looks the worst!)

  • My tank is a mess...?

I'm still cycling it. It's a ten gallon. Everything was great until I added a couple neons from my big tank. It appeared that my betta got ich. Just two white spots on him. So, I treated and did water changes. I took the carbon filter out. As soon as I took the carbon filter out, all hell broke loose. It looks awful. There appears to be fuzz on my real plants and my fish look really stressed. There are no white spots on anyone now. But, still fuzz on the plants and looks like a cottony fungus on one of the neons on his mouth. Can I treat this with water changes and salt? I can't raise my water temp. The heater is not adjustable but the temp is 78. So, will water changes and salt do the trick? I don't want to add another chemical if I don't absolutely have to. Water changes - how often and how much? I did a 50% water change last night. The neons didn't have ich and still show no signs of it. I'm out of test strips right now so I don't know the water parameters.

  • Today's betta question...?

It's time to change the water in my betta's tank. He has a really nice bubble nest going. It's gonna ruin it when I change the water. Does destroying his bubble nest cause him any stress or will it be ok? I will change the water anyway, I was just wondering if it messes with the fish to have his bubble nest destroyed.

  • what's a good way to seal a deep cut?

Besides getting stitches. Is there any over the counter product that would seal a deep but narrow cut? Like a slice from a kitchen knife sort of cut. Nothing life-threatening just a deep cut.

  • My betta question for the day...?

So, with a female betta - they produce eggs whether they are fertilized or not, right? Do they expell the unfertilized eggs, if so, what do they look like? Should I remove them from the tank? How do you know they have eggs in them? Just curious more than anything. Thanks

  • Questions about cycling...?

Every time you change your filter your tank has to mini-cycle, right? How do you avoid that? I just changed out my filter and the tank is cloudy again. It was crystal clear but it's been like this for several days. I did a 30% water change and gravel clean on Monday night and will probably do another one tonight. But, am I gonna have to have a cloudy tank for days every time I change my filter? And how often should I change my filter? I don't change the sponge thing in front of the filter - just the filter. Am I doing it wrong?

  • Several questions re: bettas and tank?

I have a 30 gallon tank that has three platys and four male guppies. Can I put some female bettas in the tank? If so, how many?

Also, it's a tall tank. Does that matter to the bettas? Will they swim to the bottom? How deep is too deep for bettas?

  • How long does it take driftwood to get water logged? repost?

This is a repost from earlier. Thought I might get some more infomative answers by posting it again.

How long does it take for drift wood to stop floating?

I bought some drift wood at the lps the other day and I've been soaking it for days now. It's still floating. Did I just buy the wrong kind? I know some types never get water logged and will always float. It didn't say what kind it was but could it be cedar? It kinda smells like cedar- but just faintly? Anyway, how long do you usually have to soak drift wood before it becomes water logged and will sink?
