Costa Rica '03
I'm a Christian that loves the Lord, retired, and have lived in Costa Rica since '03. Everyday is like being on vacation here. I do travel back to the U.S. often to visit relatives, etc.
Is this concept of Gen 1:1 a common one? I don't think I've heard it before....?
I happened to hear an eloquent preacher about a week ago. It was not the topic of his sermon so he didn't elaborate on it, but in mentioning the "In the beginning..." of Genesis 1:1, he stated that this refers in part to the creation of time. So that, when we think of God being eternal, it is not time-wise....that He is eternal because He existed/exists in another dimension different from time; being that He created time in Gen 1:1. The preacher emphasized that God has "no beginning."
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhat are Chicago O'Hare (ORD) International Airport's hours of operation?
I have an international flight scheduled to leave at 5:30 AM on a Friday out of Chicago and need/want to know what time the airport opens.
I also would appreciate knowing how to find this information on-line. (I didn't find it going through the individual airline information.)
9 AnswersChicago10 years agoHow can history entries be erased from the "History" list.?
I opened something that I don't want to show being in "History" (could be just an embarrassment!) Can it be erased? (And I'll clarify it's nothing immoral or illegal!)
4 AnswersOther - Computers1 decade agoWhat are the legally binding holidays of Costa Rica?
What I mean is: What are the DAYS REQUIRED for employers to pay Holiday Pay?
I'm pretty sure (but not 100%) there are 9 such DAYS.
10 points to who answers correctly and in short time as I do need the answer relatively quick.
1 AnswerCosta Rica1 decade agoIs there a livestock scale that can be carried by an airline traveler?
Is it possible to carry a livestock scale that is small enough to be checked in as I travel by air (like to Costa Rica) and light enough to carry as regular luggage is carried? The scale can be minus the platform (which I can supply at my final destination) and be able to weigh cattle. (There are bulls that can weigh almost 2000 lbs.) IF SO, where or how do I find one to purchase?
1 AnswerAgriculture1 decade agoIf a child is born in Costa Rica of a U.S.-citizen couple, what is the status of that child's citizenship?
More specifically, what I really want to know is if that child would "AUTOMATICALLY" be a U.S. citizen? I've heard that the child would, in fact, have dual citizenship, and that at the age of 18, he or she, could and would be asked to choose one (citizenship).
11 AnswersCosta Rica1 decade agoIs "Central America" a continent?
I hope most of you agree it is not, so then the real question is: "What continent is Costa Rica in?"
There was a bit of controversy a couple of days ago in a somewhat related question, "Is Costa Rica in North America or South America?" Some people answered neither. So I would really like to know what continent is Costa Rica in.
26 AnswersCosta Rica1 decade agoDoes anyone know of a course that teaches ESL using the Bible as at least one of its MAIN textbooks?
I'm interested in teaching English as a Second Language while also teaching Biblical truths/concepts.
The version of the Bible would not be limited to any one in particular, though I do prefer the NIV.
2 AnswersTeaching1 decade agoHow do you send e-mail addresses and/or other info to "askers" without broadcasting it to others?
More than several times in "Answers.Yahoo" I have seen answers where individuals ask to be sent an e-mail address or ask to be invited to some activity or location. Is there some way of sharing info with an "asker" or "answerer" without "broadcasting" it to all other viewers? Or are these individuals willing to do that and "don't care?"
2 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoCan anybody confirm what I've been told about deductions?
Money or items given to charitable organizations are allowed to be deducted, but why is a service not deductible? Specifically, shouldn't a professional person who donates time and/or talent to such organizations or causes be able to designate what those services are worth monetarily and deduct them? (Think of a professional singer who donates her time and sings for such an organization or cause. How can this be deducted honestly?)
3 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoIn Illinois, if your car is photographed, who or what is guilty?
In Illinois, if your car is photographed, going through a red light, not paying a toll at a toll booth, or speeding, as examples, is the owner of the car responsible, or the driver? Does the state have to prove the case, or the owner/driver?
