What's a good title for a story about a hit man?
1 AnswerBooks & Authors6 years agoI just found a very old collection of the works of Byron?
When my great uncle died he left me a large collection of books, among them a very old collection of the poetical works of Byron, dated from 1833. The binding and cover are tattered and there is some writing on the prefacing pages (mostly past ownerships before my great uncle got his hands on it) but the pages containing the actual poems are intact and unmarked.
I plan on keeping it, but out of curiosity, how much would something like this be worth?
1 AnswerBooks & Authors8 years agoWhat effect would several torpedoes have on an American aircraft carrier?
I'm working on a story where several Chinese submarines carry out a hit and run attack on an American aircraft carrier and end up hitting it three times with Yu-4 torpedoes, which have a warhead weight of 309 kg (or 681 lbs). The torpedoes hit the ship right along the stern and hit below the waterline. What sort of effect would this have on the aircraft carrier, and would this cause the ship serious damage?

Aren't they basically the same thing?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoI have a problem with my Catholic stepmother, what should I do?
I'm writing a manuscript about the First Crusade and now my Catholic stepmother is very angry at me because I wrote of the Catholic crusaders massacring the inhabitants of the cities and tones that they conquered. (Real historical fact by the way) and is refusing to let me work on what she calls 'falsehoods and liberal nonsense.' What should I do, because I'm 32,000 words in and it would kill me to stop right now?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWould you consider this a rapid rate of writing?
I've been working non stop on a manuscript about the First Crusade and am typically writing between one and three thousand words a day every single day. Is this a rapid rate of writing?
1 AnswerOther - Entertainment10 years agoHow does this sound for a World War One novel?
Its September 1915, on Gallipoli, and a British biplane carrying several important officers crashes in a section of scrub wilderness that neither side has been able to claim. The Turks know that the officers have important information on them, and the Allies want to save them. So both sides start battling over these officers, and neither side will stop until they have them in their custody.
Who will win?
3 AnswersBooks & Authors10 years agoWhy are freemasons typically depicted as evil shadowy overlords plotting our demise?
I've noticed a recent influx of videos on YouTube and other sites violently protesting against Freemasons. I don't know much about them, but the few that I've met are very nice people. Why do people think of them as evil and plotting to take over the earth?
3 AnswersOther - Society & Culture10 years agoHow should I prepare for enlisting in the Marine Corps?
I'm planning on joining the USMC at the end of 2014 once we pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan, so how should I prepare until then? I am six foot three and weigh 147 pounds. I dont really think of myself as muscular, so what can I do to build up muscle, stamina, and overall toughness so that I don't break down during training?
6 AnswersMilitary10 years agoI ran into a guy on YouTube who believes that the earth is 6,000 years old, how should I deal with him?
He is dead serious about this and is a hardcore evangelical fanatic. I really want to make him see that he is wrong but I really don't know how to approach this situation. Here is his channel:
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoIs Hell a very fun place?
Because it seems like with all of the interesting people you would meet there who were never Christians in their lives that it would be a pretty cool place to go. Besides, why would Satan do God's work for him by punishing people who either denied or hated god in the first place? It seems to me that he would raise an army of some sort against God.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoIs Religion Man-made?
Because for all we know there may be some sort of higher power out there that doesn't give a sh*t about us and we're just pretending it does to make ourselves feel better.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWhy does God kill babies?
"The people of Samaria must bear the consequences of their guilt because they rebelled against their God. They will be killed by an invading army, their little ones dashed to death against the ground, their pregnant women ripped open by swords."
[Hosea 13:16]
I've heard again and again that God spares babies because they aren't at the age of reason yet, but he always seems to end up killing them anyways. Why?

9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoDo you think that there is a 'faith gene?'?
Because a few people that I know are hypothesizing that some people have a certain gene that makes you more likely to become religious. What do you think of this?
