My great aunts and uncles from the States sent me a MoneyGram international money order as a wedding present. I've tried the Post Office, Thomas Cook, and Natwest and they've all said they can't cash it.

Where in London can I cash this?

I'm currently living and working in the UK. I don't have to file a US tax return since I made under $80,000 for 2007. I actually only made $4,000 (only came to UK late in the year, and was unemployed before that). If I did file a tax return, would I be eligible for a tax stimulus check?

I'm typing up a letter for my boss and this sentence is driving me nuts. I can't figure out exactly what's wrong or how to correct it.

"At that stage, we would hope that we are very close to a settlement with regard to figures to be revised."

I changed "are" to "were", but it still doesn't sound right. I just got the copy back, and he crossed out "were" and put in "are" again.

What's going on here?

I know that everyone who gets sent a Save The Date, should also get an invitation to the wedding, but what if they say they can't/won't come after getting the Save The Date? (It's a long way to travel for most of the guests.) Should I still send them an invitation? It seems a bit pushy. I seem to remember Miss Manners having something to say about this, but I can't remember her answer. Does anyone know what etiquette dictates in this situation?

I just peeled a clementine type of fruit, and when I broke apart the segments, there was a weird clear jelly-like blob inside. Is this just some sort of build up of pectin? Is it safe to eat?

Does anyone know of a store specializing in vegetarian/vegan shoes in the Denver or Boulder, Colorado area?

My fiance and I are getting married very soon (we're having a "real" wedding later, but need a civil one ASAP--June 8). We both want to sign a prenup agreement. The thing is, I'm American, and he is French and British. We'll be getting married in New York state, but living first in England, then moving to the Czech Republic. But who knows for how long. We both love to travel and want to live and work all over the place.

My question is: Where should we get a prenup done that would be valid in our situation? From what I've read, they need to be signed where the couple will be living, but that doesn't really apply to us. Does anyone have any experience or expertise with this kind of thing? And is there anyway to get this done FAS

I'm still in the thinking stages, but I've always wanted to get married on a beach in a short dress (knee length or just above). The thing is, my MOH doesn't like showing off her legs and would probably prefer to wear a long dress. Do you think that would look strange? What about leggings under a short bridesmaid dress? Tacky? Any opinions welcome.

Yeah, it's that time of day again. My problem is that neither my bf or I have had much of an appetite lately (I think it's the season change), and therefore there's zero inspiration for dinner. Still, we have to eat! Any suggestions for what we should make tonight? The fridge is fairly well stocked, and I think we have quite a bit of salad to use up, but not as a main course. 10 points to the recipe we choose. :-)

We haven't decided if the food will be entirely vegan or not, but one thing is for sure--the cake must be! :-) We have a few locations in mind, and a big part of our choice will be based on the availability of a vegan caterer. Just wondering if anyone has some info or experience with caterers and/or bakers in these locations that could help:

1) Greece (Paros island) - I spend a lot of time here, and I'm familiar with general food options, but not sure if I can find a vegan cake--perhaps bring one from Athens? It's 4-5 hours on the ferry....

2) Prague - Where we'll be living.

3) France (Drome region- Romans-sur-Isere)- My fiance's parents' house in the countryside.

4) Virginia Beach- Where my family's from. Probably not difficult, but not our first choice.

I have absolutely no inspiration for what to make for dinner tonight. It's just me and my boyfriend, and I have a lot of potatoes (the kind for mashing). Any suggestions for something vegan? It doesn't have to be simple, I love to cook. But it needs to be economical. Thanks! :-)

My boyfriend (UK and French citizen) and I (US citizen) have decided to get married. The problem is figuring out where to do so as quickly as possible. If I enter the UK on a fiance visa, do I have to pay another fee when applying for further leave to remain as a spouse? Or would it just be cheaper to enter on a spousal visa?
