  • Where is this saying from?

"The tiny flower, lent not given to bud on earth but bloom in heaven."

There are a couple variations, but if you know where it came from, who said it, etc that would be wonderful. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!

  • Baking Super Sculpey??

I have a sculpture and I want to bake it... I don't need to know times, but can I bake the body, then attach the legs, and then bake it again? Or should I bake the legs separately and then glue them on? Thanks in advance!

  • More info: Braque Pointer?

What exactly is a "Braque?" I'm looking for a description of the family of dogs -- including the Braque du Bourbonnais, Braque Dupey, etc. It's an FCI description (like the spaniels, pointers, etc) ... but does anyone have any more information?

    Thanks!

  • Phobia of Man-Made Underwater Objects....?

Does anyone else have a phobia of man-made underwater objects? I've always had it, but just recently became curious if it's at all common, or if it has a name.

Underwater being: oceans, swimming pools, lakes, rivers, etc

Objects include: sunken ships/boats (that's the worst), piping, buoys (OMG FREAKY!), ropes, chains, sunken chairs/broom sticks/barrels/cloth, crab traps, metal things, nets, etc

Sharks, eels, reefs, etc don't bother me ....

Anybody out there with a similar phobia? Just curious :)

  • Purebreds?

Why do so many people seem to dislike purebred dogs? Why don't you realize that they can be just as loving, healthy, fabulous dogs as any rescue? Do they deserve the bad reputation that the "pro-rescue" (people who seem to be so negative despite their loving mission) people are giving them?

And what about their breeders.... so many of them put so much time and effort into planning the best match, only to be slandered as "money-hungry," "greedy," and "stupid." Why do we let the few puppy millers put a dark shadow over the some of the most devoted dog lovers ever created?

Don't get me wrong, I am a full supporter of rescue dogs. I've owned rescues, and helped coordinate rescues in other parts of the country.

But why are so many of you against purebreds and planned breedings? When I say breedings, I mean the only ones worth mentioning: between two good specimens of the same breed, with research in genetics, the history, and standard....

  • Italian Name for Dog Kennel?

I am looking for an Italian name for my dog kennel. The breed is the Bracco Italiano -- they are large, kind, orange or brown and white dogs. Some existing kennels are Ala D'Oro, Casa Bravo, and Cerca Trova. I'd like it to be short(ish) and nice sounding . . . any suggestions?
